what is the effect of misc battery tweak?
I just enable this in CWM
The effect is that it causes users to post questions in development thread even though a q/a thread exists.
It cause your brain not enable to use search function in forums.

Pffff !
Great answer. Hope your others posts are more useful to android noobs than this one !
You're probably joking. A smiley would surely have softened your not so kind comment
maybe you should try the hardcore's speedmod-thread's faq...
Hmmm, be polite.
Guys, at least try to act like you're not just trying to increase your post count.
For instance, post a link to where "hardcore's faq" is. Also, not everyone reads the forums every hour to know who the hell hardcore is or where his FAQ is. Also, unless it says |OP| next to your name don't worry about chiding all the n00bs.
Really? If your using Misc Tweaks then your using something from Hardcore, if your not using Hardcores kernel then the dev of the kernel you are using "usually" post this in their first post using Hardcores Speedmod patch, its not that hard to search for either ...the link is in hardcores thread in his first post, theres even a thread of it own about this, try searching startup speed tweaks....

Many of you give XDA a bad name. "Many" includes noobs who don't search before asking a question and other "many" of you are the ones who boss around arrogantly and flaming the other "many". All of you had time to flame each other but no on could really close this thread by answering the query.
To OP, here is your answer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813309
More specifically, "# Miscellaneous tweaks
Increase the write flush timeouts to save some battery life."
Wow there are people who don't know who hardcore is ? Man if you got a SGS than you NEED to know this! I mean a little bit basic information is not bad
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Strange stuff for me:
If I enable this 'Misc battery weaks', auto brightness stops working, disabling it makes it work again.
In the thread mentioned it only says: 'Increase the write flush timeouts to save some battery life.'
It is even a little worse, for instance in Quick Settings app I cannot even change brightness manually (has no effect) if I have that tweak enabled.
Can anyone confirm this?

Hi everyone in order to keep Joosts thread clean from all the "i want this fixed" please post here what you would like to be working on the rom and any improvments because from what i can see it seems to be only Mur4ik working on this so give him time to produce a complete rom for use.
With this thread there are rules lol
Rules:
1: only post you features once
2: Please don't quote another users feature if its been posted then leave post a different feature e.g. " I would like whatever working/added" dont be qouting asking the same thing.
3: don't go off topic
4: keep the thread clean
i hope you all like the gingerbread rom and on behalf of all the gt540 users i would like to thank Mur4ik for all his hard work

homeselector should be put in and as a system app
also a new music player would be nice.
ringtone volume should be stable. after a fresh boot after some time the notifications and ringtone volumes sound too low.
I still have issues for Network Searching and still get errors.
handsfree mode not working
sliding answer option not present
battery % not accurate
fm radio of course

a core 35 Kernal. Correct me if it's not possible. (e.g 2.6.35 kernal instead of 2.6.29)
Very possible but it works 2.6.29 so why not
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
2.6.35 kernels are more stable and apparently faster plus the fact they're meant for gingerbread too so we will see some benefits

There is an app called "pimp my cpu" (I believe it's in the market) that will allow you to easily overclock the Glitch kernel. Might want to give that whirl.

I don't have it on my phone right now, but I believe all you have to do is open the app, pick a maximum cpu frequency (e.g. 1400 MHz) and long-click on it. It will pop up "set as max", and when you click that, it will put that as your max speed until you reboot.
If you want to go farther than that, you can create profiles that will load on startup, and tweak the undervoltage settings, but for a simple overclocking, you're actually in a good place with PMC.
The best one for glitch kernel is the nstools

1)For flashing a new kernel you need to be rooted.
2)battery drain depends on apps you use and also your screen brightness, bluetooth, gps, data etc
3)try to find out if you are having wakelocks or some fault woth battery
4)try reading about some battery saving tips.
5)get an extended aftermarket battery of need be.
6)have a nice day
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Download betterbatterystats from this forum and see if you have a wakelock issue. If you don't then you've got a dud battery, it should perform much better than that.

How dare you? Xda is the king! You've made 5 posts, mate, a forum needs to be used to get the most out of it.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
dude you shouldn't be writing here if you think that. go to your favorite forums.
cuteabuser - dont listen to Bozo The Clown calvincharles. Everything you need to know is on this forum. Use the search button in the Note Forum and search for battery. You should get a bunch of stuff that comes up. Turn off stuff you dont use especially sync stuff. If you are techy enough once you get into it then you can mess with stuff like Tasker. I use Tasker to turn on GPS when I open the apps that use GPS. I set times for my bluetooth to turn on before work and after work etc when I am driving. This is all so I dont have these things running all the time. I learned all this stuff from here.
When I first got my Note it immediately asked for update so I did. It was getting horrible battery life after that and I didnt even use it before the update. I ended up rooting and custom romming this bad boy and turned all kinds of crap I dont use off. Now I get all day unless I have my screen on. Then its only maybe 3 hours of constant on.
Good luck and read read read...its what I did.
Read the stickies on this forum. They should help.

First and foremost, before you try anything, like wipes or formats, I would advise you to download and flashthis kernel based on the current firmware you have. It is a stock safe ICS kernel, because stock Samsung ICS kernels are very much unsafe to wipe or format from. It will give you root however, so if you don't want root, then you can just use the supersu app that gets installed to make a permanent unroot. But atleast you'll be on a safe kernel, and you won't have to worry about any bricks. Then download betterbatterystats as mentioned above and use this thread to determine any wakelocks or battery munchers. If the need be comes that you need to send it to Samsung for any reason, there is another kernel thread in the original development section that gives you all stock ICS kernels you can flash.
And go through the forum, and read all the stickies. They answer all questions.
as my title already told you guys my samsung galaxy s plus with cm1o by ivendor (alpha 6) hasnt got the option in settings to lower the intensity of the vibration of back and menu button !
ALSO the option "notification light" (if you receive messages they light up for longer time) hardly dont function....can anybody help me ? are there apps for my issues to solve it?
THX GUYS
Please people stop spamming development forums. We have a thread for these things! Its in the stickies section...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000828
If there were no rules I could have said profanities but I can't. The q&a thread is so obvious now. Its at the first page and right at the top of the development forum
EDIT: Your problems are not even urgent or important. And this is not even a bug, its just that cm10 doesn't have the option to lower the intensity. If you want to lower it badly, go flash shadowrom or any other ROM that supports it.
my friend running cm10 does have the option ...its just that he has a galaxy s not a s plus ...maybe you meant this but ok im sry for posting in wrong forum

10-post rule. to minimize spam in dev threads.
and i believe op posted in the correct section. dev threads are for bug reports afaik. unfortunately i haven't used that rom. it's not in settings>display>brightness?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

Not it is not in settings>display>brightness.Sometimes there are extra cm settings and there should be also display settings.
The ROM is really great.I used minjb which was also good but sometimes it laaged or hung.So I gave up hope for JB on my x8,also ICS were really laagy and I was just ready to go to gingerbread, but then I tried JellyBlur and it worked amazingly fast and stable.
The only bad is the ultra brightness which I used sometimes outside on sunny days.Normal high brightness is not enough
I looked for some apps, like torch and others but it seems that the raised brightness has to be implemented in source
yes. i scanned through the rom thread amd it seems the op did not implement it.
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

yeas he tryed but , but he just answered how to toggle between the brightness modes.
In knew that,in fact I use the power widget in the notification drawer toggle between brightness stepps.
I think he didn't understand what I meant.
I ment the ultra or raised brightness option like in most CM ROM's which would raise brightness over 100%.Sure it would dryn battery faster but east least I would see something on the display on a sunny day. With 100% I have to hide like a vampire
This is from my theard Jelly Blur
t is a pity that the faster you did not write about it because now I have x8 and hard for me to say from memory but maybe this:
Add the widget where there are options to turn on the GPS, WI-FI not so pretty on the right side you see this icon 'light' and finger on the click, and then change the brightness for example,
-automatic,
Half brightness
-low brightness
that's it
