[Q] The same Problem with EVERY ROM!! No solution till now - Wildfire Android Development

i cant understand what the problem is..... the phone works fine when i don't have my SIM in it... it even works fine when i have the SIM in it and haven't switched on the data connection ... bt the moment i switch it on... my phone freezes up(If not instantly, then when im downloading something)... it has happened with every rom i installed.... plz help me.... i cant run a custom rom coz of this problem!!!!!!!!!!! i've got my sim card replaced...i unrooted and re-root my phone.... bt this thing is always happening!!!

Just out of curiosity, did you flash the stock ROM (RUU) from Shipped ROMs and try it out with it?

ya.... i was using official 2.1(Rooted) till like a month back and it was working fine....

With the same SIM? Or did you have another (Uninor I think) if I recall correctly?
Also, try flashing the RUU now and see if it works or not.

Try to change SD card...

it was uninor... bt i've also tried the vodafone sim and it worked perfectly...
changing the SD card??? how could that help??? i mean i BOUGHT this card along with my phone.. its a sandisk 8 GB... no class was written on it(they dont provide class details in India) bt i get a tranfer speed of 5-6 mbps while copying 4m PC to the card

Seems like an APN config problem, have you tried changing them ? else it's something darker and evil

Please try the following 2 things and report back:
* Try the 2GB card which was provided as stock and try connecting to the mobile network with your Vodafone SIM and downloading something
* Flash an 2.1 RUU (As of now) and try doing the same (Connecting to MN and downloading something)
If both these dont work, then, flash back to the 2.1 RUU, take your phone to the service centre, and show the guy there the instability your phone suffers from. It's still under warranty (I am assuming), and so, shouldnt be an issue.
BTW, These are the 2 Vodafone APN Settings. I hope you have them correct, kindly cross check
1) VODAFONE LIVE APN (Simple GPRS. Apps dont work using this)
Name: Vodafone Live!

i dont have the 2 GB stock card.... bt ill try the other things... i tried the VMC settings on the rom... still freezed when tried downloading a song....
ill report back in sometime... will see if i still have the same problems in the RUU... thanx alot 3xeno

If it works with the Stock ROM, then, lol, I have no idea why it doesn't with Custom ROM's.
If it doesn't, there's clearly an issue with the phone (or the SD Card, but, that cant be verified as of now it seems. If you can possibly borrow another card from somewhere, it may help pinpoint the problem), and, its best you take it to the service centre and show them the problem, and get it repaired / replaced.

With ruu shuld i use for:
BUZZ PVT S-ON <- it is rooted but gives me s-on
HBOOT-0.80.0002
MICROP-0622
TOUCH PANEL-ATMELC03_16ac
RADIO-3.35.20.10
T-mobile branded

ok i installed the ruu... it freezed the first 2 times..bt after i cchanged the apn settings(i only changed the authentication type 4m unselected to none) and then it worked fine.... now what should i do?? i backed up the aps (as they were provided by default& i didnt get any defaults in the roms) using APN backup and restore 4m the market

It should be PAP. None never worked for me. However, now, if you have confirmed this works for you, (By trying out all test scenarios like app download, surfing, music download etc.), try flashing a Custom ROM (Remember to wipe data, dalvik cache, and /system under partitions, as suggested in the CM7 thread), then restore APN settings and hope for the best.
If it doesnt work, then, I am seriously out of ideas.

can i restore nandroid backup??? after wiping out everything??? or should i do a fresh install??
again thnx 4 all the help bhai!!!! tussi great ho!!! LOL!!!

if u make a android back up yes if u wipe factory setting and cache and daliv cahe then android back up all will b fine i do believe

ok..... thnx guys...ill let u know what happens

Keep it fresh would be my advice. Since Nandroid practically resotres EVERYTHING, so I guess it will restore your APN issue as well.

ok... ill do a fresh one...

Vodafone live works fine..bt obviously doesnt support apps
VMC :- sometimes hangs.. sometimes it doesnt... coz i tried downloading a song and it freezed up...restarted and tried it again... and it downloaded ... completely... without any probs...
donno what the prob is...bt will have to live with it i guess...
anyways guys a big thnx 4m my side... and obviously if u can tell me anything more after reading these results.. then let me know....

You could try resetting the device, but I don't think that's going to fix it. Sounds like the messaging package installed incorrectly with the rom. I suggest reinstalling the rom, and if it happens again pick a different rom.
You could try installing the arc-soft package, but i'd just go with a diff rom.
thanks I did install arc_soft the problem is with it

as for Softbank AP, read this thread to make it work. use the wifiwakediam.exe i patched for diamond instead of the original wifiwake.exe.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298031
secondly, softbank mms is not compatible with other carriers. if you currently use mms with another carrier, your mms client does not work with softbank. you need to remove your current mms client out of your device, and install either mmslite or softbank mms client in x04ht. either way, you need to install japanese font since these programs run in japanese, not english.

your phone has been suppercid. the orginal cid before cid-unlocking is needed to patch wifiwake.exe.
also, if you read japanese, visit this link.
http://d.hatena.ne.jp/chai99/20071008/1191839258
patching and signing wifiwake.exe is not that difficult.
sorry... solved it
Thanx.
Got the worked patch file.

... still doesnt work for me
tried various settings for my diamond.
Can anyone affirm that I tried the right settings?
Im using a x04ht diamond with a german rom and try to get mmslite working since I dont want to install a japanese rom.
First I tried the settings on a different page... basically someone sum up the xda forum settings. (sorry dont have the link right now, but it was nearly the same as the others I tried.)
Now I tried this and it still doesnt work:
Uninstall MMSLite
Uninstall MMS Composer (you do not need this software at all)
Softreset
Delete all registry entries containing Arcsoft
Softreset
Create a new connection with the following information:
Name: MMS
Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point name: mailwebservice.vodafone.ne.jp
User name: vodafonelive
Password: qceffknarlurqgbl
Install MMSLite (Build 301 for WM6.0, build 303 for 6.1)
Set up MMSLite options with the following information:
First tab: put a check next to MMS (this option allows you to choose the connection you use). Make no other changes to this first tab
Second tab: First two boxes should be http://mms, then 80. In the second two boxes input vfkkmmsproxy.vodafone.ne.jp, then 8080. Below the lowest box are three buttons. Press the furthest left button. A new window will pop up. In the top box input V904SH. In the bottom input Vodafone/1.0/V904SH/SHJ001 Browser/VF-NetFront/3.3 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
Third tab: Check the first box.
Click ok. You should be able to send and receive. Send an email to yourself to be sure.

I can receive Mails afterwards, but when I try to send one all I get is a message in Japanese that it couldn't be send (retry yes/no).
It almost seems that my phone is not able to connect to the softbank network. (I quadro checked the connection settings now....)
Thanks in advance

[Q] nTelos mms info?

Anyone have any info on getting mms to work on an nTelos hero? I've been trying to figure it out for a while, but having very minimal knowledge of how it all works, i haven't gotten very far.
Ive tried the fix that was used on 2.1, ive tried editing apn/mms(?) settings from a sense rom with the #data## or whatever, and ive tried backing up the apns from the stock nTelos rom and restoring them, and none of those worked. (ive been using either cm6 froyo or the aosp/cm7 gb roms)
right now im using the stock rom from nTelos, so im assuming i have access to all the information i would need, i just need to be pointed in the right direction.
also, i figured, since there isnt much info out there for nTelos hero users, it might be nice to have some conclusive, updated info for others with nTelos.
Thanks in advance for any info!
MMS for ntelos on CM 6.1 builds:
open terminal and type:
am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.android.settings/.ApnSettings
OR, open voice commands, and say "open APN Settings"
The APN settings should open. If nothing shows up, then add one via the menu button.
1. Name: Production
2. APN: 1
3. MMSC: h t t p : / / mms.ntelospcs.net
4. APN Type: mms
Then save via the menu button.

[Q] Another APN problem thread

Hi all
I have cascaded my Razr i to my son and before giving it to him, did a complete wipe - I might even have re-flashed the ROM but can't remember. Anyway, now I cannot get device to find / store any APN settings so no data.
I have tried full wipe (system / data / cache / etc) then installing Omar's ROM (RazRi_JB_X-2014-Jun-10) as well CM-10.2-20140116-UNOFFICIAL-OLYMPUS and KTR-ROM but all with the same result.
All ROM's install fine (using CWM 6.0.1.9) and can be used on WiFi, just not on mobile data. I have tried everything I can think of including deleting system/etc/apn_conf file. If I really have to, I;ll use RSD and put stock back on but would prefer to avoid that.
Any further suggestions welcome.
Send me the name and country along with the correct settings from your telephone company.
I know what the APN settings are and I can add them but they just won't save.

U can always try the rsd lite method. If it works just reflash the recovery, because your bootloader is already unlocked. Is it maybe an idea to add them manually to the apn list. So to the apn_conf file, or did u already tried that.
CM-10.2-20140116-UNOFFICIAL-OLYMPUS <-- atrix rom on razr i?
I can't add the manually - I can enter the details but when I select 'save', nothing is actually saved. I have deleted apn_conf file and truied resetting to defaults to see if it would re-create the file but no luck.
Could someone post a working apn_conf that I can try & edit / upload to phone.
Thanks

[Howto]MetroPCS Wifi Calling & SMS working

1. For those wondering why this is posted in the T-Mobile section: MetroPCS is owned by T-Mobile and as you will see through this post is very influential in it working.
2. If you got it working some other way, more power to you. please do not confuse people (because lets face it alot of people looking at this havent been on here very long or just stumbled onto the thread) by posting your "fix"
THIS IS FOR HTC ONE M9 users who have taken their devices to MetroPCS. If you are not on MetroPCS then do not try this in any way because it will not work for you. If you are on metropcs and have a T-Mobile firmware installed then try changing the apn settings from step 6-12. This will also fix people having problems turning the wifi calling switch on
YOU MUST BE ON THE MARSHMALLOW T-MOBILE FIRMWARE (3.39.531.7) FOR THIS TO WORK, MEANING MAKE SURE YOU ARE RUNNING A MARSHMALLOW ROM (NOT AOSP ROMS). THE ROM CAN BE BASED ON 3.35 for its base, this is not to be worried about. Also make sure the rom cook has T-Mobile support (i.e. ViperOne 4.3.0 etc) THESE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDE FLASHING TO THE 3.39.531.7 FIRMWARE. MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS POST AND ANY POSTS THIS ONE LINKS TO.
How to get wifi calling & sms over wifi working on MetroPCS on the m9
FIRST AND FOREMOST STEP IS TO MAKE A COMPLETE BACKUP OF YOUR DEVICE IN RECOVERY IN CASE THINGS DO NOT GO AS INTENDED!
1. Make sure you have registered an account on http://www.metropcs.com/account.html
2. Download the myMetro app from the play store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nuance.nmc.sihome.metropcs&hl=en & download sqlite editor attached to this post and install it.
3. open the app and it should recognize you automatically, on the left upper corner of the app click the 3 lines to bring out the side menu. Click on E911 Address and follow the instructions.
4. Once you submit this information you will receive a text message saying you have filled out the e911 info for wifi calling.
5. Goto this post and follow the instructions for downloading and flashing the 3.39.531.7 firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/3-39-531-7-nowipe-noredtext-twrp-3-0-0-1-t3326861
6. Once your phone reboots go into airplane mode. open the sqlite editor app on your phone.
7. click the files tab. then navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/
8. click on telephony.db then carriers_cache. click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select delete all
9. click the back button and select carriers.
click the first line, then the little pencil and change the following exactly:
Code:
Name: MetroPCS
Numeric: 310260
mcc: 310
mnc: 260
apn: fast.metropcs.com
mmsc: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
type: default,supl,mms,hipri,dun
protocol: IPV6
roaming_protocol: IP
state: MAKE SURE THIS FEILD IS BLANK IF IT SAYS READONLY REMOVE READONLY
10. click save
11. Take yourself out of airplane mode and goto your apn settings and make sure that the apn selected is the one that says MetroPCS with the apn set as fast.t-mobile.com
12. Go enable wifi calling via the switch in call settings. Make sure you are connected to a wifi network, then once you are sure it is working, go ahead and turn airplane mode back on, then activate ONLY WIFI. Let it connect. (For a few seconds you MAY see an invalid sim error, ignore it it will go away once the connection is made. and try making a call and sending a sms. SMS may only work with the stock app while in airplane mode. im not sure if that has changed. Anyway hope this helps. Enjoy.
Must be in airplane mode to edit the databases?
No you don't HAVE to be but if you aren't then carriers cache can repopulate while you are editing
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Labs
I get no databases in telephony/databases, it's empty. Well I'm not trying to go metro but just be able to edit telephony.db. Not sure if it's one of those steps that allows one to be able to see the databases.

Can't see them in the latest tmo mm update? That is absolutely not correct. Is your system mounted read only by chance? If it is mount it read write then see if you can find it in sqlite editor

Well how will I do that? Within the App it self? I know I'm able to edit system on ES File Explorer but that app gives you the option to make system read/write. Now I'm able to see the db files in ES but not SQ.
