I've tried searching and can't come up with anything definitive. I've found Odin3 v1.3 in the Vibrant forums, but only 1.0 in the Captivate forums.
What version is the one to use on Captivate and what is the download link?
Edit: I mean the non-1-click version.
Thank you

Hi all im trying to flash my captivate to JM7. At the moment im using the method i got from this thread (JM7 realease on i9000 page 4) I flashed without the pit file.
I actually have several questions 1. When i start my phone its starts up like it crashed with different colors then to att boot screen, is that normal.
2. Im trying to install SRE rom to it but when i try to launch it from recovery gives me a error status 7.
3. And ultimately am i doing something wrong for my phone, or is there a better guide with files im missing. Thank you.

Right under your nose...and you shouldn't flash sre(a captivate rom made for captivate firmwares) to the I9000 firmware
Edit: Just post if you got more questions about the progress. And im pretty sure that you can just substitute the jm5 for the jm7

that's 2.1
for some reason nobody posted a 2.2 kb1 stock rom. all us americans are too obsessed with flashing i9000 roms or heavily modded roms. the only way to kb1 stock on this board is flash 2.1 and use kies mini to update, assuming you havent messed anything up that will prevent kies from recognising the phone like info in the efs partition.
oh right... i get confused by your damn numbers... kb1...
we had JI2 (2.1.1) and JL1 (2.2)
you know how long it took me to hunt that wrong one down?

Can't he use kies? (keis, what ever it is lol)

I thought I saw a cappy stock ROM 2.2 on here when I soft bricked (I use a vibrant). They had all of them plus pre rooted versions and everything. Ill try to find it and post a link.
Sent from my robot vaccuum smartphone!
Here is a link. Just use the file as PDA and use your standard pit and you should flash back to stock 2.2. No problems reported either.

Here is another one..more of the same I suppose. Both are froyo stock though, and I'm pretty confident either will work. This one definitively says use 512 pit and use the tar file you download as the pda.

I used this one to upgrade from stock 2.1 to stock 2.2 using Heimdall a while back with no problems to speak of. The phone ended up developing the same lag as 2.1 eventually so I have since gone with one of the many lagfixed roms.
Hi, ive been search the forums for the last hour and cant find what im looking for. im just after a stock gingerbread ROM for my Samsung Galaxy S gt-i9000 that i can upload using Odin (or if another program is needed, please link). im not overly pro at mucking around with my phone, although i did use odin to put darkys rom on it. any help would be muchly appreciated. thanks for your time in advance

[Firmwares]Official I9000/I9000M Firmwares collection
click thanks if this post helped you, cheers
dear all
i can not find files for old firmwares for i9000, in samfirmware.com most of the links is from multiupload.com and the sites is closed (couple weeks ago it was shut down by FBI?)
so if anyone here know another repository for i9000 firmwares? i have problems with my internal sdcard which is toast, i found tutorials in this forum that requires :
A stock copy of JM8 firmware (Only the PDA)
A stock copy of JM1 firmware (PDA, Phone & CSC)
here is the link for the tutorial

thx guys

Why don't you post in that thread, maybe they have it saved on their computer and can provide a link for you.
Also there is stock firmware in the general section i believe or it maybe in the development section. It is a thread dedicated to stock firmwares, they maybe a little modified but should still do the trick...
And im sure there is a different solution to boot loop.. Have you tried flashing any stock firmware? Or just a kernal?
Perhaps if you do a little more searching or tell us your problem here we can be of further assistance and recommend other methods.
I read yesterday in another thread in this forum so i will not take the credit
find your link for Multiupload
Go to google and enter in the search cache:multiupload_url
You may beable to get a mirror site.
