[Q] My G1 can't install Angry Birds - G1 Apps and Games

Hi all,
My G1 is using rom Cyanogen Mod 5.0.8-DS, install app to sd.
Internal phone storage available is 44.36MB, SD card available space is 726MB. When i install game Angry Birds, it didn't, and we had error note : "angry bird coul not be viewed.free up some space on your phone and try again".
Who can help me?
I uploaded my file at link mediafire.com/?2f157zyk1tftjri (i installed this file, you can download and test it)
ps: my eng is so bad

I had the same problem when I was running Super E. Try turning off your A2SD then do try to install it. Hopefully that helps.

Vogue Angry Birds

Hey guys, I dont have my XV6900 here to test, but can anyone tell me if our phones will play Angry Birds (I have latest kernel and Fresh Froyo).
Thanks in advance....
I tried installing it with Fresh FroYo 2.2.1 and the SD card unmounts during the install and it fails :/

well, this happens with other apps to ie. Tic Tac Toe
sooo who nows where the problem lies, the app, sd card, or phone?
It would be awesome if I could get this installed for my little crumbcrunchers to play, and me of course...
Got it installed wth Icubus r16... i got as far as trying to load the first level. No go. It just kinda hung. If you mute your sound settings you'll load up a lot faster... but still... i don't think we have the horse power to run this thing.
LOL, i already play it since beta release, no hang up...

I'm using the "not so super froyo" rls: 10/17 and for my kern: voguimg-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-09-10-10_23.nbh... I edit the kernel to run in 320x480 and I set it to overclock at 520. I have a 4gb sd card in...
Hope that helps. My game runs very well. Although I have noticed that there are these white walls in the game and it's very difficult to see them. I assume it's just because the vogue's screen is ****:/

OK I matched your setup to the letter, tried to install from SD and got the unmounted SD card issue, and when i soft reset with the SD card in the app is not in the tray, and then the manage programs area its a grey icon with SD over it. Same if I install via adb.

Do you use astro and then open it in app manager? Maybe it's more of a problem with your sd card :/

I'm running it on the vogue with incubus rls 15. mine did the same thing as far as unmounting the sd during install. I re installed it back to back and then rather than exiting just hit open and it worked and placed the game icon in my apps drawer. Also as a side note when the game introduces a new bird or freezes before loading a level I just hold in my camera button to bring up the recently used items and click angry bird again this brings up the pause screen and i just hit replay level and all is good.
Mine hangs
I have Incubus26 RLS16 running on NAND. I had to reboot couple of times my phone because the SD card got unmounted and then it didn't recognize the storage. And tried installing againg using Astro.
It loads, but when I try to start the first level, it always hangs. I haven't been able to play at all
to install angry birds unmount the sd card before installing it'll install fine, then remount and play...the latest update for angry birds in the market...released...today or yesterday fixed my graphic problem (white terrain and background) which made it harder to play. there is some lag when playing mostly when the ad pops up at the beginning of a level.
I was able to find a download of this on the net.
I could NOT install from SD card.
I had Root Explorer, so changed permissions on the \tmp folder.
Copied the 14MB apk to the \tmp directory.
Installed from NAND - install went fine, no issues.
Was able to play, though its a little slow, @ 500 mhz
Another way is,
After install it, and get unmount msg,
Dont restart your phone, dont unmount your sd.
Go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications.
Choose Angry Bird and push "Move to phone" button.
Thats all.
Still get your unmount msg, just restart the phone.
Angry Bird will still remain in your phone memory and you could still play it.
Anyway, I was optimize and tweak Fresh Froyo,
now I could run it without oc. Just 400 without GPU oc too.
I just change the resolution.
i've found the latest update to be almost unplayable...it did fix the graphical problems (white terrain) but its not worth the extreme lag even running it on nand incubus rls 16, over clocked to 501mhz, with latest 11/12/2010 kernal... im going to have to stick with 1.3.5 version of angry birds unless someone knows of a some setting that might help

My problem was, when i was in RomManager, i asked it to flash latest recovery, then 2 choices popped up, Xoom, and Xoom WiFi, well mine is a wifi version.. So i chose it... After going into recovery, i couldnt mount the SD card any more... Hmmm... Updates are good arent they? (that was to ver 5.x.x.x)
So i went back into Rom Manager and did it again, this time i chose just XOOM for the model, it went back to version 4.x.x.x.. Then i could mount the SD Card again...
Hope this helps..

ClockworkMod Recovery Can't mount SDcard

For some reason it can't mount the SDcard.
What to do?
E:Can't mount /sdcard/
Same thing happened to me yesterday either. I did this:
Take off the SD card
Install everthing on another disk.
Format the SD card from the hidden menu
Copy superuser to the root of SD card
Put the SD card back
Re-flash the rom
Voila! this time it could mount.
After reboot install everything back to the SD.
This is what i have done. And it worked. Needs a little work. If anyone has easier method use that if not use mine. Cheers.
Sorry I am a retard...
I accedently had the SDcard taken out.. God dammit.
How do you boot into CWM?
The my root succeeded, I guess. Since I am with a new ROM and everything.
But I need to boot into CWM and install SuperUser.
OR can you do it any other way?
I just wrote what to do.. What procedure are you exactly doing. Are you installing Huexxx's rom or just a v20x rom?
OH, didn't notice it was you Pondera
Well, I installed the v20N ^^
Just to get a soft start
"Install everthing on another disk.
Format the SD card from the hidden menu"
Easier terms?
Disk = sdcard?
What is hidden menu?
I am sorry, android rooting is hard do understand.
I am a techguy, usually, haha

Your rom is not rooted right now...
Well, SD card is the small external card you put back at the phone. Take it out. Copy everything on it into another disk (C: or D: or E anywhere you like. I mean copy the content.
Put back the SD card on the phone restart your phone. Press phone like you are about to make a call. Type 3845#*970# This is hidden menu. Here enter "Factory reset" Then press Format SD card. When it is done. Copy the superuser to SD card.
After all this start the procedure again. press volume + ..... an so on. This time in CWM mode SD card will mount. When flashing the rom is finished, after reboot. Copy the files from C: , D: or wherever you copied back to the Sd card. You are good go now.
I ma sorry if it seems complicated. I don't know how to explain different. Sorry.
Thanks, tried while waiting for response.
I managed to fix it.
I re-did everything from the start.
Installed the rom and when I got into the CWM again, I succesfully installed SuperUser
Thanks for your effort man (Y)!
I just checked out this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454274

No problem, glad if i could help. Actually you can only do it with CWM so: Yes, you can do it with ROM Manager. I am actually leaving gotta get up early and go to work. Keep me posted if you install Huexxx.
Successfully installed Huexxx last night. Can gladly say that it increased the performance with roughly 100%! (stock-ROM Quadrant scores vs Huexxx-ROM Quadrant scores)
In general I've noticed a smoother user experience and games now run ALOT better!
Can I use this Kernel together with Huexxx ROM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332311
It says that it's for CM7.
If I recall correctly the Huexxx ROM is a modded stock rom?
Or am I total wrong?
Ur right and since it is NOT CM7 what's the conclusion? I doesnt work, right ;-)

As I thought then
Thanks btw, I recognize your name.
Helped on a Rom or something? Haha

This could be the answer. The only way for non-rooted devices is to go back to gb 'cause samsung hasn't solved the emmc bug yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Hi,
I tried to install some apps from Play Store to my HTC HD Mini Android and i get this error: 'Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card', no matter how many times i try to install it.
Since i cannot unmount the sd card because the android setup is residing in the root of the sd, what can I do?
Thanks,
Daniel

When I had this problem, none of the above solutions worked. I finally discovered this problem seems to occur with some apps after I have installed a Custom Recovery. So, I fixed it by installing these "certain apps" before installing the Custom Recovery.

Any news on this? I'm having the same issue, though it only seems to affect the two paid apps I'm trying to install: Apex Launcher Pro and Doggcatcher. Using an HTC One as well, so no unmounting SD.

Thanks, had to use this today. If I may add to your solution just a bit, in my case a bunch of apps had been uninstalled by something, not sure what, but I was not even able to restore them from TB, so, after re-installing app you can go into TB and restore the data from the lost apps. Thanks again :good::good:
It Worked Like a Charm!
Thank you so much for this solution!! I just could not figure out why eBay's app and Facebook's Page Manager would not update and you just made my day with this simple solution. For those having this problem, after you unmount the SD card and try to update, it will appear as if you are doing a complete new installation. Just proceed and them remount the SD card as @jongz.travelmate suggested
It worked dude
Thanks a lot ...
But I wanted to ask that all my softwares are on my sd card and after I unmount it ofcourse I can't access them.
So I have to download ALL of them again if I want to install any :crying:
So is there any other solution with no unmounting of sd card?
Plzzzz I need your help seriously as I am in a lot of trouble because of this :crying:
I want some permanant solution if you can provide
Plzzzzz help!
