looking for stable Hero ROM

I just installed one of Drizzy's Hero ROM s and even though its awesome...its also very slow...I am not sure which version it is but I can't download protected apps... so I need a link to either JAC or Drizzy's Hero ROM but I want it to work quickly and I want to be able to download my purchased apps and install them... I already partitoned my SD card. So if someone could post the most stable Hero ROM that allows paid apps that would be nice.

Froyo Help!

Just got the new 2.2 ROM installed via OTA... love running a hardware review site!
I've got stuff such as Flash working right now (There's some great threads right here to help with that, just search for it).
However, I'm trying to figure out if a few other rumored features have been enabled yet or not in the "official" ROM.
- Color trackball?
- FM Radio?
- I see options to SD storage, but its grayed out. Do I need to partition my SD card like when I used apps2SD on my G1?
Update
For anyone looking at more information for the "official" app storage on SD in Android 2.2, take a look at the developer guide. (I'd post a link, but I'm too new)
Looks like your apps have to have the "External" part coded in.
i dont think you need a partition for Apps2SD, remember that Apps that require root access cant be moved to the SD and im guessing that the apps need to be readied to be moved.. and for FM..i dont think its in the update i could be wrong.

U dont have to do anything for the Multitouch patch, it will be pre-loaded. Not sure whether 2.2 will be pre-loaded or not
This is the development thread respect the rules, ask to get this moved to Q & A

[REQUEST] Froyo ext 2/3/4 apps2sd

The only Rom Ive found with the old style linux ext partition apps2sd is a modaco premium kitchen rom, and i dont have a premium modaco account. Can someone implement this as a addon zip for the existing rooted froyo rom? Or maybe just make a new rom?
I looked around for documentation on how to implement this my self and haven't found anything useful.
from what ive read, froyo doesnt use this method.there are a couple of threads on using ap2sd on froyo.an easy fix.
i suggest if you want something from modaco premium account, you join up as i did.i doubt anyone here is gonna give you access to what theyve donated to.
the roms we have now are more or less test roms.source has not been released so you will most likely not see anything new until its released.
ne thing i cant believe is the way google implemented apps2sd on froyo. That was the reason for me to revert back to 2.1 CM 5.0.7.1
so +1 to this request. but i guess cyanogen will handle that, if he does a froyo version of cm, when froyo is final!
I liked the linux partition app2sd implementation better as well. Keeps the file-system available for the phone and the fat32 available to mount to a PC or whatever.
Yeah, I'm curious to see why they didn't use ext 2/3/4...
Fat32 app storage sucks. Anything with a widget has to be stored on phone.

You should be able to take 05mountsd and 07app2ext from any ROM that supports App2Ext (take it from system/etc/init.d) and place it in system/etc/init.d, it should work, never tried though.

Thanks for you reply, i'm sorry that i new, i don't understand how can i do it, Would you mind to help tell me step by step?
Thanks
Its not that simple as in custom roms becoz you need to be able to run scripts from init.d folder for it to work. For that to work, we need to mod the mot_boot_mode file.
Which rom are you using ATM?

You can also try link2sd from market.

Link2SD is a great apps, but i wounder that why cannot read ext2 partition in my Milestone, is it my orginal ROM not support ext?
I have also heard from many people that the procedure mentioned in the link below works on most stock roms. You could try it out.
It doesn't work on the Arabic ROM, so dont try if you have installed that.

[Q] Android 4.0 and the little ROM ???

Hi
I want to buy a refurbished Nexus One to install Android 4.0 or 4.1 on it. and this will be my first android phone
But I'm worried about it's little ROM !just 512MB
How much memory will be available after installing 4.0 for apps ?
Can I install apps on SD memory card completely or they will use some of ROM memory too ?
Does installing 4.0 courses my apps and games run slower than before ?
Thsnks a lot
if u need to run anything beyond 2.3 then u need to install BLACKROSE (a custom bootloader) and change the hboot partitions.
and yes u need to partition ur sd card and apps should be placed in sd ext, which might be lil slower

If I use SD Memory ,internal ROM will not be used for apps at all? You mean the partition on SD memory will be used instead ?
Can I use SD mem on 2.3 version too ?
Can I use a high speed SD to speed up running apps ?
Can I do All this thing with HTC Desire too ? these two phones are so similar !
Thanks

yes you can. you need to create ext partition first. provided your rom/kernel supports it(which every rom/kernel does)
yes you can do this wid gb roms too.
u need a fast sd (class 6 or above) for apps n games to load faster

Although the N1 has only 512MB, don't underestimate its ability to take on ICS and JB ROMs The latest JB 4.2 ROM can be flashed on N1!!!
