Hey guys, one thing I dislike about moving from sense is the camera. Is there anyway to use the trackball for capture/focus instead of the shutter button? Or just to use the HTC sense camera app story altogether? Thanks.

I dont know but probably its not very easy because it hasn´t been done, I think its necessary the htc framework or something..
I tried a lot of camera apps, I´m tented to create a camera thread, i tested vignette, camera 360 pro, camera zoom fx, lgcamera and none has face detection for example..

You're right in the Desire and DHD is the Cam from HTC, and without Sense Framework and Sense it won't work at all
I tried some thinks but without succes
It's frustrating, let me know if you found a decent camera app with face recognition and autoportrait.. but probably will have to wait for a sense gingerbread release..

Any camera app out there has a full screen viewfinder? Like those on HTC Sense camera.
I'm new to the nexus s coming from the evo 4g and on the evo I could remap my volume keys to work as my camera shutter. I was just curious if you could so this on the nexus?

On cm7 based roms yes.
Follow the leader @corythug
So no one knows if there is a way to modify the key layout ?

The Camera Zoom FX app in the market allows you to configure the volume keys as the shutter.

those are the best and easiest choices, and very easy to use too
I wonder if anyone have moded the stock ICS camera app to use the power/volume button as shooting button. I remembered that people from SII had already done so.
Currently there are no "custom" ROMs, as I'd term them. Right now, they're are just optimizations of Sense 5. When ROMs like AOKP and CM start popping up for the HTC One, will it be difficult to get the stock Sense camera app on them? That's the only thing I'm worried about in relation to switching to a non-Sense ROM. All the HTC optimizations and features for the camera will be lost with the stock Android camera app.
Will it be as easy as sticking the APK on the new ROM? Or will it require some real work?
HTC camera requires sense framework which isn't present in Aosp/aokp Roma

Well, that sucks. I really can't switch to an non-Sense ROM if I'm going to lose all the camera optimizations. Hopefully someone can figure it out.
Yea I always wished the camera was better on vanilla roms, but I find myself always switching back to sense roms because of the camera. I havent used a nexus 4 persay so I can't comment on that

New here in the HTC one area so please forgive me if this topic was already covered. Being new to the HTC phone I wasn't liking the soft button lights turning off during the day light so this app basically keeps button backlight always on, as long as the screen is on.
Confirmed working with HTC one. KiNDA
Soft Buttons Light

UPDATE: The soft lights turn off on occasion and I have to toggle the power button to turn the light back on. Bug I guess but quick minor temp fix by hitting the button
UPDATE 7-/4/13: According to solid.snake (see quote below), Capacitive Buttons Brightness Works well

It allow to keep the keypad backlight on as long as the screen is on, or it can simply switch the keypad backlight off.

Hello,
I'm new on these forums and my English is't wonderfull, sorry for that.
I got a HTC Desire c Rooted and with CM10, NOPE Kernel. My problem is the camera, I don't like the stock android camera with the grey box. So I searched for APK-files and found some good ones(Google camera, the on with the blue button).
It all worked fine but when I try to take a picture of a face it Force Closes itself.
This is with all the files I tried. there is also no option to disable face recognisation.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm running Andoid 4.1.2
Thanks
You can use Cyanogenmod 10.1 camera apk.it is not boxed but you can only have 3 mp cam

Hi,
I'm using cm10.0 with 4.1.2 But that camera is for 4.2
Is that a problem or not?
---------EDIT------
So, I flashed tjhe cm 10.1 camera. It runs but when I try to snap a picture of a face it force closes
Isn't there a fix for this? or is this something else like missing files on my phone.

What do you mean?
The stock camera isn't causing the problem. It is just ugly XD
It is with all the cameras I tried but they all FC when I try to take a picture of a face.
Could this be a missing or broken Face detection module?
Is this fixable?
I'm using another camera (camera zoom fx) but I prefer the minimalistic one with the blue dot (KitKat I think)
Julian
I know.... It is sort of ugly, but since it works, I use it.
