Hi, I searched the forum and couldn't find any post on this, but the sound with the person I am talking with goes silent. They can hear me, but nothing I do will let me hear them. Usually my calls are over my Plantronics Pro + and when it happens, I will try to switch to "speaker" to get sound, but that doesn't work. I have to tell the person that can hear me that I'm going to hang up and call them back and then I I can hear them. It sees to be happening more frequently. Has this occurred with anyone else, and is there a solution? Thanks.
Yes I had couple of instances, with call center operators, so I thought it was up to them. However, today it happened with a friend of mine, with full signal strength, but it came back while other person was continouosly speaking, so it wasnt noticed.
However it is very unpleasant...

1 person that I talk to keeps telling me that they hear an occasional loud beep while talking to me and they only hear this with me and no one else. We are both on AT&T and I have since changed roms and the problem is still there. I am told this but I do not hear any beep. They say it is random and occurs probably around twice in a 30 minute phone call.
Any ideas?
Maybe its that person if only one is complaining?
I remember some phones had a minute reminder on their phones (as did I once upon a time)
If no one else is complaining then it's got to be that other person
Its like if you get a text message on your HTC, then the sound that plays while you're talking is almost like it is coming from the other person but its not
ive faced this problem as well.. i thought it was the other person... but someone else complained about it to...
so i am assuming that it was my phone.. i since then soft reset... and noone has complained ... so im really unsure what the problem is... i have the original rom still on my phone with some upgrades...
ill just wait around for someone to post a diagnosis... or solution...
FBI
Or it's the conference tone, some ctys don't allow you to conference 3 parties (or more) without the other party being notified by the network. Sure you're not on some 'wanted' list, and FBI is listening in on your calls?
Hi,
I got a strange problem here. Sometimes (not really reproducable and I recognize no scheme) when I am called and receive the call I do not hear a single thing until I press one of the volume keys at the side. But the caller understands me fine. I got an original HTC device and had this problem with 1.37 and also with 1.93 official ROM now but it seems to be less often with the new Rom.
Friend of mine who also played with the thought to get the Diamond told me he read that on various boards, but I never heard of that problem from anybody else.
Guy at service told me it could be my sim card, because its that old (i got the same sim card for about seven years now) - but he also told me you should get a new sim every six months, so... kinda sounds like crap to me.
ANYONE experiencing similar problems? THANKS
My Diamond dont ring either... so I had to use vibrate so I could atleast feel it
Havent looked much into it yet though
No i don't mean ringing. I Mean sound from the internal ear speakers.
Mine does exactly the same!
The caller can hear me fine but I cannot hear them talking to me.
The only way to hear them is to put it on external speaker.
I wonder what the problem is?

Well its not with all calls. Mostly it only happens when Mum is calling well maybe its not that bad
No, but I can hear them after I press volume keys. I am getting a new sim card from my operator these days, hope this will fix it.
If it's possible that you touch the "MUTE" on screen during the call?
hi DDBrain
if you Mute the call it should be the other way round, you can hear them, yet they cant hear you
I am definitely NOT touching anything
im getting the same problem, except mine is for outgoing calls as well. It seems to be intermittent, The only way it fixes is by waiting for about a min fiddling with mute and speaker function. I have noticed the phone audio works fine i.e. system tones and also music but its just you can hear anyone when making or receiving calls for some reason, but they can hear you?
I think its software related as I was running stock rom for about 3 weeks when I had my Diamond and nothing of this type was seen, only once i started upgrading???????/
I've had an HD7 since UK launch on O2. I've had several incoming call that have been garbled. When the phone rings, I pick it up and cannot hear what the other person is saying because it's muffled.
Hanging up and rebooting the phone fixed the problem. Has anyone else experienced it or should I be reporting this to O2. I' not sure if it's the phone or a software problem.
Thanks
i've had no problems at all
mine is unlocked and i use it with the Vodafone sure signal box
Will be good to know if other people are having this problem, done a quick search here and not found anything so suspect it could be my phone
Same problem
I have been having the same problem
Picked from O2 and then unlocked.
Got a call and then middle of the call the other side couldnt hear me at all or could hear my like a robot.
Is this a firmware issue or a hardware?
I am not sure about the firmware but calling was okay on my side. The only problem I have is that the other side is speaking very softly even when I already switch the volume to the max (10). The person talking on the other end also complained about noisy background noise on my side. Anyone experiencing this?

Not for me. when I answer the call all I can hear is muffled talking. It's very garbled speach and no words can be understood. Also the volume is low regardless.
Next time it happens I will ask the caller what they could hear their end.
Looks like i'm the only one with call problems.
Apparently you are... I guess its best you send your set back for a new one...
No issues here, but i'm on a US T-Mobile HD7, so I don't know if that matters.
Exchanged my HD7 for a new one yesterday and had exactly the same problem.
On my previous HD7 I noticed that I was also losing audio every now and again in other areas of the phone, I reboot would be needed to get sound back.
The other end completely cuts out when I talk a little louder than normally.
Anyone else? Try humming or singing "laaaaa" while on a call and please report back.

Probably a related issue to what I've been experiencing during normal calls when recipients cannot hear me. It happens randomly during phone conversation where they suddenly cannot hear me at all. As for your sounds you're testing with, it may be registering your loud sounds as "background noise" since they are not typical human speech (even though you should be able to say "laaa" or hum into your phone if you want!).
Check my details here and see if you can replicate using only normal speech, and I'll update when I hear from HTC, and hopefully have some news of it being addressed in a future update.

Hello guys, I have a weird issue and maybe someone can help me. I have a Z3 compact and every time my girlfriend calls me, the call is muted, she says she can hear me but I don't hear anything, as if the phone is not on a call. She says it only happens when she calls me and funny enough, I receive calls normally from any other number.
I've tried disabling all the call improvements, but the problem persists. I have to hang up and then call her for the phone to work properly. I've done a search here and on Sony's forum and came up with nothing.
She has a Z1c by the way.
What do yo guys think?
I experience the same problem, very annoying if you ask me... I don't know what to do, thinking about asking to Sony
I know this thread is old but did you ever find a solution?
My problem is the opposite. I hear the person perfectly but they can't hear me. Hanging up and calling again usually solves it.
