Whenever i try to nandroid backup CWM always gives me an error "can't mount sdcard/" ... As of right now I'm just using some standard Samsung 2gb MicroSD, but I am waiting on a Transcend 8GB Class 6 MicroSDHC from newegg to arrive...
So is this error due to the small size of the 2GB memory card or something else? Thanks
Try booting your Nook to internal memory and then formating the card using the Nook.
Settings >> Device Info >> SD Card >> Unmount >> Format
Then try and make your backup. See if that works.

I was able to get Verygreen's CM7 installation on a 1gb SD card working from SD boot. However, I'm now trying to install some APK via the web, but it complains "No SD Card" available. When I try to goto Storage Settings > Mount SD Card, I get an error saying SD card is damaged (weird since I havn't done anything w/but install CM7). Total internal storage reported is 525MB, I assume the remainder are in a secondary partition for data..
Any insight how I can get the SD card working?
BUMP? Is my only alternative to install to internal memory in order to use the SD card :??
Hi, I am not sure if this is the answer, but I looked into Verygreen's original thread:
"up to 1G cards gets: system of ~300M and data of the rest of space. No FAT partition"
Possibly that's the issue. I have a 8G card and been running CM7 off of it. Yesterday I installed the UMS utility apk from this forum by using Opera, downloading it to a folder, and then simply tapping it in a file manager.

I was wondering how is it possible to transfer my existing data from my slow class 2 card to a much faster class 10 card. The actual card is 16GB in size, and the new one should be only 2 GB in size. I have 1 GB ext4 partition and the remaining space is FAT32. The new card should have 1 GB ext 4 and 1 GB FAT32. I know I can format my card in CWM, but is there any way I can move the data and everything to work as before? How can i read EXT4 on Windows and write the data on the new card? Should I use same partition serial numbers when formatting?
If o do a nandroid backup of EXT4, should it restore successfuly on the new microsd?
Solved, made a nandroid backup of sd-ext, swaped cards, copied all from the old fat32 to the new partition, and then used avanced restore for sd-ext.
have you get problem unmount / mount sd card with cm7?, just try it unmount your sd card, and get it out then mount again, and your phone got freezzz
Some info:
LG optimus 2x
MIUI rom
16GB SD card
Fat 32 format
only 392mb used
PC recognises full 16gb (well, 14ish due to formatting) and phone sees 5.50GB. It also says that its only got 40-50mb space remaining which is completely wrong.
I've formatted the SD card through the phone & PC (using the slower format too)
The SD card was used as a recovery SD for my Nook Colour before the current phone and I'm not sure whats wrong.
Any suggestions?
Just to make sure:
Check that you're not looking at the internal sd (since that one is 5.5 GB)
Hmm, how embarrassing. I think I am looking at the internal SD card.
However under the SD card menu, I can unmount/mount the (5.5gb) internal memory and format it (which I've already formatted )
Any thoughts on how to view the external SD card? there doesnt seem to be a menu for it in the MIUI settings
I would look in /mnt/emmc, sound likes the mount points have been switched.
I just got my Sandisk class 10 64gb microsdxc card however, going to settings -> SD card, I don't see any other option but Mount SD card. When I click on it, it says Preparing SD card, then says Blank SD card while showing an SD card icon with an exclamation mark. Please help how to mount and format the card?? I have the korean version galaxy note shv-e160s. Thank you.
----Update----
I finally got it formatted on my computer it now says FAT32, I can copy files to it, drag & drop files to the SD card on my computer, however, when I insert it to the galaxy note it says Damaged SD card with exclamation mark. When I go to settings, I don't see any option except Mount SD card, clicking on it gives the same issue - says Preparing SD card then says Damaged SD card with the exclamation mark. Please HELP!! thank you.
Format the card fat32 via the computer and try..

Just taken delivery of a 64GB card struggled to get it to be 'seen' by 'phone so formatted via adapter in PC card reader windows 7 only gave ntfs or exFAT as option - tried exFAT & 'phone still not picking up SD card, rebooted in to my Linux (kubuntu) & using KParted, formatted to FAT32, it is in the 'phone being loaded, up hooked up through the USB cable (on windows 7) with the backup of every thing from the 32GB card + more music etc all goes well, if I have trouble I will report back.
Oh if you don't have Linux. try using a digital camera to format the card.
Hi everybody...
I currently see a weird behavior with my N7000 i'd like to clear up.
I have the N7000 with 16GB internal memory (2 standard partitions) plus one 64gb SD card (SDcard1).
The card (exFat) is mounted correctly and works...
I am running Cyanogen stable release cm-10.1.3-n7000.
The weirdness starts, when the card contains more than 32GB of data:
-Camera shows error: No external storage
-SD card is still accessible.
-Internal partition 2 (SDcard0) is no longer mounted
-External SDcard (SDcard1) is available with full capacity
The problem only occurs, when the external SD card contains more than 32gb AND the device is rebooted. When i put in the freshly formatted card and fill it up over 32gb, internal storage stys mounted and works.
So it seems to me, that the N7000 or Android for that matter can only manage 32gb of the SDcard and the internal memory at a time, at least during mounting SDcard1.
Any hints or solutions are welcome...

In order to help you properly more info is needed. what brand SD card is it, did you do the formatting or by the phone? I ask because I had the same problem with my GS4 using a cheap 64GB card from ebay. I did everything I could including changing many kernels to find one that would read the card properly, no go. In my research I found out that there are some people that are selling cards that are not truly 64GB and conforming to the eXFAT system. I returned the card for a refund and spent a little more and bought a Sandisk 64GB (true eXFAT formatted) and all my problems went away. I am not here saying that you must buy Sandisk, I am suggesting that you try a true high capacity eXFAT card to see if there is a difference. I explained my problem to the vendor and presented my research and he recalled the card without a hic-up.
Try to format it to fat32
