[Q] Cannot connect to Exchange Server - Doc Rom - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody,
I flashed Doc's fantastic rom yesterday, after having used stock JPA for a couple of months. After the upgrade, I got some weird problems with Exchange. The first sync was very slow and suddenly, when reaching mails from january 26th the sync stopped. Contacts and Calender synced fine.
When starting the sync manually, I got the message "Cannot connect to server". Then, suddenly, later in the evening, it synced all fine, with one excemption: It downloaded the whole mails (with attachments and everything) even though I had 2kb as limit.
This morning, I got the "Cannot connect to server" again. So I cooked a new rom, formatted everything and flashed again. The excact same thing happened. I'm not stuck on january 28th, and can't receive newer mails. Every time I try to sync manually, I get the same error message. Contacts and calender still syncs OK. I still have the problem that it downloads the whole mails, the 2kb limit doesn't seem to work.
Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions for solution?
(I'm on DocRom 9.1.4 Js3 with speedmod kernel)

Am I the only one with this problem? Still can't sync mails from Exchange...

Yahoo mail download issue

Hi guys,
I have a strange issue. When using the HTC Wizard(o2 mini s , wm5) i can download yahoo mail without any issues.
When using the mda vario III to check mail, it connects to the server the first time, downloads 5 days worth of mail, then continues upto mail count of 5200(even though it doesnt download them)(large yahoo inbox).
Once this finishes, it disconnects fine. no problems.new emails can be read etc etc.
the next time mail is checked, it comes up with looking for changes, and seems to hang. if one forces a "stop sending and receiving", it just displays disconnecting, and hangs.. soft reset is only solution to get rid of the status message. I have tried this is on wifi, 3g etc no difference.
I have done a hard reset of the device. same problem on a fresh device.
Yet once it has disconnected/been soft reset, I can log on with the WM5 wizard, and process takes 10 seconds, to check and disconnect.
I have read about the £11.99 fee for upgraded yahoo mail, but wondering why the Wm5 device works, and the other one doesnt, and if I upgraded, would it even work?
Any advice is appreciated.
Sort your mail so they aren't all in your inbox? Upgrading your mail to yahoo pro account will only give you more storage and larger attachment sizes.

activesync error code: 0x8600050d - redux
Hi,
I just started getting this error. I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 running WM6.5. Tried a few solutions suggested elsewhere (unchecking usb to pc on phone settings, etc.) Was going to follow advice re deleting and re-establishing partnership but there is some data on the phone that is not on my computer and some on my computer that is not on my phone. Recently updated some contact info on the phone and even before this error message it didn't sync to the computer. I have contacts on the phone that are not on the PC. I did recently clean up contacts on the PC since at some point I ended up with a lot of duplicates - but I may have inadvertently deleted some unintentionally. I thought they'd "come back" when I synced since they were on the phone but that didn't happen. Similarly I made some changes in my calendar on the PDA, e.g., in the notes section on a particular appointment that didn't show up on the PC. So I'm afraid about losing data. Sorry to be so long.

another sync issue

sorry if this is a repeat topic.
i synced my tilt today and got an error. i didn't think anything of it. but later i noticed all my contacts are gone and calender is wiped out. the email and txt button on the home screen doesn't even work. i have deleted partnership in activesync is to success. i got the error 80004005
i have the stock att 6.1 rom
i guess my last resort will be to do a hard reset. has anyone else had this problem?

exchange issue

Hey Guys,
first of all, I love this site, lurking for serveral years but posted next to nothing as most things are already discussed and the search function is your friend
hands down for all the great info here!
now, I had pushmail configured on my tytn 2, all running smooth on my wm 6.5 build, as I went on vacation my password expired and when I got back to work today I wanted to change my password on my pc as well as on my PDA.
it went well, BUT... I can't seem to store incoming mail in the correct folder.
I can send and receive stuff, but as soon as it is in the mailbox and I , for example reply to it and afterwords get back to the inbox the mail is gone....
I can sync both through my pc and via GPRS with no problem, it syncs my task, contacts etc, just not my mail, tho it is marked in the exchange menu.
it doesn't state that it is having issue's with syncing, no error code what so ever.
I tried everything I could imagine, soft reset, hard reset, deleting hard reset, new account, basicly everything I tried to start back from scratch.
when I first flashed to the wm 6.5 build, I had no issue's what so ever, pushmail was working flawlessly.
did anybody encounter this as well? and is there a solution for it?
thanks in advance for replying

Endless sync loop on Exchange Activesync

Hi All
I'm running the latest Cyanogen Mod and I seem to be having issues with Work E-mail. If it is set to retrieve items as they arrive (push mail), it syncs every other second, even though there is no new mail. However, if I set it to sync on a time delay, it works fine. I am using Exchange 2003. Is this a known problem? If so, could someone point me to a fix, I wasn't able to find one.
Thanks much
Well... a hard reset did the trick. Though I'm not sure if uninstalling/reinstalling the mail programme would have worked, didn't think about it until after I wiped
