I am having trouble installing Angry Birds. I am using TnT Lite 4.2.2 with the Market fix. The app downloads ok, but then it fails to install. I get the following error: Unknown Reason -18. I have tried restarting the gTab and I have also tried to side load it from an apk, but to no avail. Is there any advice on how to get this wonderful program to install?
Thank you in advance,

Excuse my stupidity for asking this, are you talking about the post: "Working Angry Birds Fix"? Before I posted, I did a search for Unknown Reason -18 failure code, and that is why I posted this.
Thanks,
linesma
manikin13 posted a GREAT fix for Code-18 installation fails. Works beautifully!

hello,
how can i install the market enabler?
can somebody help pls
Download from http://code.google.com/p/market-enabler/
Some guys haven't any will of reading..
i tried that solution but still i can not paid applications.
I installed market enabler via appInstaller by Gregory House
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-iqbs-android-appinstaller-pxEn.aspx
why still i can not see the paid applications?
1. Install and open the Apps Installer application from the "Android Market".
2. This opens a view showing *.apk application names in the sdcard root directory.(note, if no AppNames are listed you have no .apk files in the root directory of the SDCard)
3. Touch the app name to initiate installation of the app.
4. The app is now installed

1. You must have root privileges
2. Reboot your phone or terminate Android Market before starting Market Enabler and then fake T-Mobile US
i have an other probelem now when i try to change setting from market enabler it says "we got a problem houston" and market still can not find other applications...
why does it give that message
Do you have root?

Before starting this thread, it's impossible that you didn't saw the posts regarding rooting.
Rooting is the process by which you regain administrative access to your phone. It opens up otherwise impossible options to your phone.
Just like windows, you're only guest now on your phone.
This could help
- Why root?: http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Why_Root
However i dis-advise you to root your phone unless you have some spare time and the will to read all the requirements and how to's

Yes I know reading can be sooo hard for other people... be respectful to the forum by doing a little research first... there are multiple threads on the first page about rooting... even the 1 click solution.
Do yourself a favor and read carefully before attempting to root... every step counts
thanks for the replies.
i think i need to read the topics carefully before rooting my phone
thanks to everybody...

LOL! Wicked mate!
Btw my phone IS rooted but market enabler won't install
http://uploaded.to/file/en3pg4
I'm going to ask the devs why
What do you mean by "won't install"? How do you install it?
I mean that I downloaded the .apk and tried to install and I get a generic error while "analysing the file" (I don't know how it sounds in english)
hello,
i rooted my phone it does not give "we got a problem houston" error now. but still i cannot see the paid applications.
I installed the market enabler before i was rooting the phone. Can it be the reason. Do you advise me to uninstall market enabler and install again?
And can somebody can tell me how to change the setting.
I go to settings tab from the market enabler and click on German O2
Later go to the Actual tab and and press save current settings. And exit
Is that right?
What is the gsm.sim.operator.numeric in actual tab. There is a number...
thanks for replies
http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2010/05/google-maps-for-android-gets-biking.html
Includes biking directions, sharing of places via SMS/e-mail, etc, and a new Navigation icon in the app launcher.
G maps
Thx, for the update notice!
The Navigation program says my region (Canada) is still not supported. I know some work has been put in to get around that in earlier versions but I was wondering if anyone was planning on hacking the new one...just out of curiosity, really.

I had such problems on other ROM when I had little space on my cache partition. But on CM 5.0.7 I have this partition nearly empty.
Just look into logcat. There is probably some error message.

*downloading*
yes it helped to get 4.2.0
but market still shows google maps as "to be downloaded"
anyways, your url helped to get 4.2.0 thanks so much
I tried to update multiple times this morining on wifi with the same error "download unsuccessful. I tried everything, wipe cache, fix permissions - NO GO. Then I tried to do the update with wifi off, on the edge network and it worked. Hope this helps someone.
I got the "low storage space" error while downloading and got the same installation unsuccessful error that others are getting. After freeing up some internal storage and then rebooting, 4.2.0 installed just fine.
Must of been a G1 thing lately. I finally got the new Map app to download today. Took me I don't know how many tries. I finally ended up deleting 4.11 or whatever the last was. Rebooted a few times and then tried again.
It's not just the G1. I read in the Nexus forum that those users were also having a hard time installing 4.2.0. Something was definitely weird with this update.
I set up my gtab with CWM and TNT Lite 4.4. I also did the flash & marketplace fix. I started downloading some apps and everything worked fine then I tried angry birds and the d/l hangs at 15%. I tried canceling and restarting with no luck. I tried clearing the data and cache for both download manager and marketplace with no luck. Even after that when I start the d/l it just jumps to 15% and hangs. I thought that this might be a result of a bigger app but then the same thing happened when I tried to get Google Books (only 1.8mb) but this time it hung at 57%. Even with these downloads hanging I was able to download other apps just fine. This is super frustrating!!!
Also, I can't find ADW.Launcher anywhere! I even tried to get it by downloading AppBrain, I was able to find it there but it gives me an error when I try to follow the link to d/l it from the marketplace.
Thanks in advance! I love this forum!!!

Try here for ADW Launcher http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/adw.launcher
When you try to stop the download, does it successfully halt the download without error?
If it always restarts at 15%, do you have partly downloaded APKs on your device? (stranger things have happened, I suppose).
Hi guys,
I've got a problem with Google play on cm-9-20120329-NIGHTLY build and other build. Some games/apps is downloadable, but most of it is not. It says something about the error in purchase, even though the app/game is free.
I've tried flashing different versions of gapps, wipe market data from setting or titanium backup, changing dpi, but none works.
I know that this problem has been discussed a lot, but I can't seem to find a solution that works for me. Please help me, this problem is getting annoying...

Try flashing the 20120317 gapps, then flash the gapps fixer utility, it might help.
Good luck.

Google play crashes
Hi everybody.
I have a problem with running Google Play on my SGS. I did a flash to CM9-nightly and Semaphore kernel recently, but after installing Google Play/Market again, the application doesn't work. It just starts when I touch the icon and than returns to menu or desktop... no error or any message shown... just crashes immediately.
I would be very glad for any suggestion!

You are probably better off posting this in the SGS forum rather than for the HP Touchpad - there will be differences in the CM9 build.

OK. I'll give it a try... However, if anything, let me know.
Hi there,
I've been looking everywhere but cannot find a solution to this, so sorry if it's really simple and I just didn't know.
I cannot install Google Play on my phone. I have tried everything I can think of. I've downloaded multiple versions of the apk and every time I try to install it I get "Application Not Installed." I allow unknown sources, I've done cache wipes, I've restarted and restarted... I'm just super tired of going to my browser every time to download an app.
Am I missing something really easy and I'm just too newb?

Do you not even have the Android Market app preloaded? Also, did your rom come with all of the G apps?
