Hi, i had one phone i9000 that was not going into recovery or download mode. SO, i tried flashing Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5 as PDA to enable recovery mode. I then got failed message and now phone is stuck on "PC ! Phone" logo. It wont go into recovery or download mode. Help
Take the battery out, wait a little and see if it will boot up,if not, do the same again but try to turn it on while connected to pc....

EDIT:
odin crashed while going back to stock then
my phone will get to download mode buuuuut.. my computer doesnt recognize my phone...
i re-downloaded drivers and the phone is recognized however odin failed the 2 times i got it in dl mode(took about an hour to get it each time)... so i have a jig ordered but with odin not working im not feeling optimistic
nothing seems to happen when its plugged into the wall no battery icon. i reinstalled drivers hoping that would help with no luck.. i just got it back in dl mode after like an hour of it not turning on for me but it doesnt do anything once i get it there.
Get odin3 one click and use it in dl mode. It will brg ur phone back to stock

definately problem of bad USB..either cable or port....try using different USB cable or different computer....Use full odin by iCezar...its with minimum risk....specially very beneficial in cases like yours....
my pc doesnt see my phone. thats the issue i cant use odin. and the only thing my phone will do is glow black or go to download mode, idk if its charging but its getting hard to get it in dl mode, multiple tries atm no luck
i have already tried reinstalling the drivers. what are they called so i can delete them and install again rather then just redownload maybe that will help?

try connecting your phone to pc when odin is already running. See whether it detects. Mine worked this way.

thats not a big deal, just get it in download mode, and flash it with odin.
EDIT: might as well us this post to say what my computer says with usb since i got in in dl mode again...
USB device not recognized
one of the usb devices attached to this computer has
malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it.
then something about for assistance in solving this issue click here
this has happened to me acouple times, the first was my fault I pull the usb before odin finished. I could get back into Download mode but Odin would not see the phone and computer would not recognize the phone either, device not recognized.
I tried rebooting, re-installing drivers etc. did not work.
but after an hour or so I finally got it to recognize and odin'd back to stock and back to flashing I was.
this is what I did hope it works for you.
1. disconnect all usb devices
2. un-install captivate drivers
3. reboot computer
4. goto device manager and verify that there is no USB device errors, if there is delete them and reboot again verify again in device manager.
5. install captivate drivers
6. reboot computer
7. start ODIN (DG or iCezars, iCezars is safer)
8. plug USB cable into the computer first (the one that came with the phone not an after market one)
9. hold both up and down volume buttons on the phone
10. plug the usb cable into the phone quickly to get into download mode (if I plugged the phone is slowly ODIN did not recognize the phone no COM, once I did it quick and it picked it up)
11. push START as soon as ODIN shows the COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4 etc (this had to be done quickly too, If i waited ODIN would show the COM but still would not start flashing back to stock)
this worked for me more than once I hope it helps you good luck
oh ok thanks, ill give that a try when i get off of work. i hope my battery doesnt die idk if its charging or not
well no luck even getting back to download mode. i bought a jig so i guess im waiting and trying while i wait.
i keep reading its possible to completely brick if odin fails... did i perma brick?
well a bump of sorts, the jig should come in the mail tomorrow. i miss my phone
jig came in the mail, im working on a few failed odin3 attempts but as i freaked out and started typing this post it seems like a great success. the jig works wonderful

I have not had to do this but I know some others had issues with Odin and had to right click on Odin and run as administrator for it to work. Also the Odin 1 click should work in almost any situation to get you back to stock. The only worry (again never had the problem) is that depending on the build version of the phone you could lose the three button recovery. Look for the Odin that DG posted.

How do i check my phone, is it hardbricked or softbricked?
Hi there.
From what I've met with my G.N, when you got other message than the yellow triangle, you may flash your G.N with a custom rom with no problems within Download Mode.
If you got the yellow triangle, you may could go to download mode, too and flash a custom rom.
if no way to go to download mode, then I think the only answer is JIG.

Maybe the USB jig will help you to boot into the download mode.
Can you enter CWM?
How did you "bricked" your Note?
What have you flashed?
I would flash my Note with odin.
But it fails, i think it was the wrong PIT file.
And after that, it turns off, and now i cant turn it on again.
Usb Jig is only for 2.3.4 and earlier use?
Mine is 2.3.6

Their is nothing to do with version. JIG used for Put your device in Download mode and Clear your Custom binary Counter.
Before flashing ROM please read all instructions carefully.
As they said while flashing ROM using PC Odin you should not use Pit file and Not to Tick "Re-Partition".

The USB jig can boot your phone into the download mode, but only if the phone does response in any other way, I think. For example showing the battery icon, when plugged in for charging.
But you can try it anyways.
The download mode will work!
the only exception is a hardware defect.
you can't get an hardware defect by flashing.
the bootloader (3 button or jig) will work.
there is no way to kill the hardware during flashing or something else.
buy a jig and it will work.
you wrote you see the samsung logo - that means, that the bootloader is OK.
happy flashing ;-)

Yes. But if your phone totally does not response, it might be a dead bootloader too. thats what i meant.

Well you can try the usb jig anyways, but if there is still no response there is no way out and you have to bring it to your local service partner or samsung, I think.
But one fact is good for you:
It doesn't response on anything you do. So that means it can't be read out and they'll not see that you've flashed it. They'll just change the mainboard and resend it to you. This happened to me with my samsung galaxy s.
I totally destroyed the bootloader and it won't response. I directly send it to samsung and they just change the mainboard, as I said.
For sure you doesn't have to pay anything, assumed you are in warranty.
I'm gonna buy a jig immediately, however all of them are indicated as for Galaxy S2. Will it work with galaxy note too, or should I keep looking something specific for Galaxy Note ?
It will work for you SGNote, too. Just go get one, and let us know what happened.
Hello guys.
I flashed the galaxy S on Odin with no files attached.
Now the phone will not respond at all. I have tried everything but, there is no lights or reaction as ever. Is this fixable?
I have ordered a JIG but i doent have to much expectations.
Regards Morten
It doesn't even turn on? Try taking the battery out for a few minutes.
Yes thats correct. It happend after flash.
Starting to think if the battery stopped working.
There is no sign of life at all.
The battery was fully charged.
Have tried your suggestion. With no luck.
Edit: Hmm, i have tested the battery now and it shows 4 volt between + and -.
So that shouldnt be the problem.

Yes I know it was stupid. I had a PIT file connected.
And didnt know what i was doing. I couldnt dream of
the program would flash over bootloader.
But i learned and have to pay the price for it.
You can fix it with usb Jig or there is a tutorial for Captive that you can use on your phone and put it in download mode. I think for that you jave to install linux, hemindail and java. Also, you will need to install android sdk for adb reboot recovery command Search the forum, the fix is already there

How is it possible to flash nothing? Doesn't odin warn you if you got "nothing"?
Should be fixed in next ver.
Download Mode "bricked"
Hi,
My Download Mode is working (3 buttons function), but the Win7 isn`t recognizing as Odin...(I`ve already tried to resolve USB drivers troubles but I think that is not the right option...other Samsung Androids are working weel)
So I am not able to flash anything trough Odin...and the CWM 3.0 show me many "E: unknown moun/ storage"...it`s impossible to restore or install an update.zip for example.
What can I do?
Hello everybody!
I've tried to find a solution, but without success.
Today I tried to install CWM on a french Galaxy S.
I've rooted the phone with z4root and after I started on download mod with adb.
Then with Odin3 I installed this file "Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v2.7-CWM3RFS.tar".
After that the phone rebooted automatically, unfortunately it's rebooting eachtime on the galaxy s logo.
The problem are that I can't boot on download mod or on CWM.
When the phone is off and I plug it on charger, it doesn't charge!
I think my phone is bricked.
Do you think you can help me or it's dead?
Is there a hard reboot procedure or something like that?
Thanks
I have exactly the same problem!
Are you sure you can't enter recovery? Volume up+home+power.

did u try vol down + home + power button to go to download mode? if it can do that, the problem is just find some driver to make odin recognize your phone. search for "usb driver for samsung galaxy s" in google
then you can bring back your phone to live by downloading any rom you want and flash it via odin
ps. but if you cannot go to download mode, JIG USB with 301 K ohm will help you look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdn5GoRjhn0
Same problem here, I actually didn't see this in my search and made a new thread about it (feel free to delete). My computer had KIES on it so it had the drivers already and it's the same computer I went through the download mode before with so I have the drivers. I tried to reinstall them but still nothing.
I fear I may need to buy out my contract :crying:

I am sure that I am right with this. "If you root, do not use KIES" so you have to uninstall KIES and download separate USB driver.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. When I reinstalled the drivers I had actually uninstalled KIES and installed just the drivers.
I do have an update though but still can't get it to boot completely. Late last night I decided to try to get download mode to work one last time before passing out and pressing Vol-, Home and Power actually brought me to the recovery screen for the first time in my phone's life! "F YA!" was the only thing I could think at the time so I first went through and formatted/wiped every option I could find then installed the CM9 that I knew worked and now I get to the alien with the matrix-esque background and it stops there. I plugged it in and left it on that screen all night and that guy was still staring at me this morning. I tried download mode again but my computer still doesn't recognize it.
Please help me out on this....

I successfully upgraded my Pop to gingerbread 2.3.6 and rooted it. It was working fine for some days after which It got messed up
when I updated the titanium backup app from the market. The app asked for some su permissions and suddenly the screen went blank.
After that I realized that its a hard bricked. The screen is blank whatever I do. I searched for many tutorials to unbrick it but no fruitful results yet.
I tried a lot to enter download mode and after several attempts luckily the three button combo worked and it got shown in ODIN on some port connected.
When I started the process of firmware upgrade it gets stuck in "Connection Setup Phase".
Does USB Jig method is worth trying in this situation ??
Pease tell me the solution of it. I am attaching the screenshot of the ODIN. Please Please Please help.
Thanks a lot in advance...
what is on your mobile screen download mode or something like phone--!--computer picture
ok whatever try this
close Odin, turn off mobile, start Odin and put files turn on mobile in download mode connect the cable and start flashing
PS : phone--!--conputer shows on the screen when upgrade get fail, not to worry it is just like another version of Odin
until you can light up the mobile its not a hard brick
I will suggest you to use firmware which are available without bootloader as you were previously on gb, just to remove the risk of hard brick
nothing on screen

Your battery could be dead. Charge your phone for 2 hours.
Then try using Odin using a different USB Port.
