Battery Problem Solved - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

just thought i'd post to explain the problems i had and what solved it.
Bought phone on ebay with
radio 1.58.25.17
and WM 6.5 can't remember which version but definaley cooked
Phone kept showing bizarre battery readings and would shut down after taking a few photos or occasionally when reciveing calls and making calls
installed new rom but still no joy, so decided to install a the shipped orange 6.1 rom and radio and now works fine. This obviously won't go down to well with you guys and after reading someone's post a changed radio might have done the job just as well. Have to say thou even thou the orange version is a bit bloated it does the job and solved the problem
hope this helps someone and thanks for all the info and time from everyone on this forum.

qtek 2020i ph10c screen will not align after hard reset

Hi i am new to this site so hello peeps...
Anyway i have had my qtek 2020i for about 3 months now and apart from the odd reset (that i have done) its been a useful tool.
Now the other morning it decided to have a freak out and the start menus locked up. I tried to do another reset but nothinge changed..
Now my dilemma is....i performed a hard reset and now the screen will not align...it asks me to tap to set up my device and i start tapping the little crosses but it will not work..i seem to be tapping the crosses for ever with no luck. Can anybody help?
thanks in advance.
Sounds like "Take it back to the shop" time to me.
Something far wrong mate.

spot on simple logic i suppose cheers geez
hehe, you could try a rom update or reflash, might be a problem with the rom
I got the new unit it was working fine......then i restored the backup that my last phone took before it went away and guess what....the problem returned  .
Anyway i reflashed the rom with the qtek one and its sorted.
What is the best rom in your eyes for the alpine device?
The last O2 ROM with Pugs adaption, the 1.3 radio included.
Search for Pug it should come up with a link to his rom.
The newest O2 rom has an older radio version(1.0) because it has Blackberry support (which i will never use)
I am hardly recommend 1.04 radio version. It solved 3 issues for me and made my phone recieve signal better! This is "must have" version of radio!

New P3600i sticks at splash screen

Bought it 5 days ago. When the battery went dead last night, I plugged it in to charge and switched it on .It did not go past the Windows Mobile splash screen. I took the battery out as well as the sim and memory cards, to no avail. I left it plugged in overnight and got the battery fully charged (battery indicator light is now green) and the network status green light would (at least sometimes) start flashing on boot, even though the phone would not completely boot up. I CAN get it into bootloader. What I want to know is, should I go to www.htc.com and download and install an official ROM from there, or should I leave all that alone and take it back to where I got it from before I screw it up? Additionally, the phone shows up as a Dopod D810 when registered on www.htc.com, and the radio and ROM versions appear to be lower/older than what came pre-installed in the phone. Advice anyone? I am fairly new and in the process of learning all this wonderful stuff you guys have to teach.
it seems like its already been fiddled with (correct me if i'm wrong people), i would visit the HTC club site and if you can upgrade using your serial number do that, as if you look in the trinity WIKI in "Trinity" forum (Not Trinity 6 forum, here) it states there is a different way to flash the p3600i as its setup different than the standard p3600.
This is exactly what happened to my phone when the battery died (after installing FInixNOver) Is there a problem with these ROMS, or something that happens when the phone dies!... My phone was also 'sticking/frozen/crashed' on the splash screen.
I just reflashed it with a new ROM after fully charging it again.
Thanks VISTAR. And WIZZKID - your phone works perfectly now after the flashing? And do you think it's because of the stuff you installed? BTW my ROM was an official HTC ROM. I actually got called out early this morning to do a flight to the island where I bought the phone (I am a commercial pilot flying Caribbean routes) and I packed it's backside back in the box and sent it to be exchanged. I don't have the new one yet, but I am beginning to wonder if I shouldn't try something else because of this problem of sticking at the splash screen - however I only have a choice of the Kaiser and the S730 at the moment. The P3600/P3600i is among my favourite WM phones of all times, but I don't wanna have to go thru this again. What do you guys think? By the way - I only just realized that I started this post in the wrong section, so please forgive me anyone whom is not pleased by that.
iF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE OF A KAISER I WOULD GO WITH THAT, ITS THE BEST OUT THERE AT THE MOMENT..
Yeah I know but I just don't like it the way I like the P3600i and some of the others. Besides I prefer no sliding hardware keyboard. Moving parts is an issue for me as I am very fussy about wear and tear/looseness. Thanks again for your help. I am gonna move over to WIZZKID's thread on this P3600/P3600i non-starting issue since I am in the wrong section of the forum. Thanks to all those who assisted...
Got a second P3600i and it did the same thing - a hard reset fixed the problem.

My Wizard keeps rebooting!

Hello people,
I'm new to posting on this forum so please go ease on me I've been reading the forums for quite some time now, since i have my wizard (back in June i think). That is when i unlocked and flashed my Wizard with a WM6.1 rom. And this was succesfully, i'm very happy with it and never had any problems, hooray!
So far so good, but this all changed untill recently. Some weeks ago, my Wizard started acting funny, it kept rebooting at random moments. It's not in a loop or something, it just reboots on random moments. In calls, in games, in the menu, just random.
Now i know this is not a software problem, since i never changed any software after flashing and i also have these random reboots when in bootloader....
Can anybody help me with this?
I should also note that i suspect my battery, since it looks old, slightly bulged out but most importantly, my battery life is normal when not calling, but after a call the battery can be drained from 100% to 30% with just one short phone cal..
/edit: Just had another reboot, this time i looked at the battery meter....It was full when i turned on the phone, and now it says my battery is empty...Now i really suspect the battery Just want to rule out anything else
I had similar issues - and the battery was the culprit. Get a new battery, your troubles should go away
Did you also happen to have other problems, regarding calling itself? My friends complain a lot about my not picking up my phone or reading text messages, and when i check my Wizard the calls are not there.....and a lot of people calling me get my voicemail directly when calling me, that shouldn't happen :/ All this when i have full reception :S Could this also have something to do with the battery? My guess is not but i sure hope so, that would solve two problems at once

Those are more than likely software related issues. Can be the rom itself, or the radio version you are using.
Which WM 6.1 did you flash, can you provide some details as to IPL/SPL - radio version, etc ??
For instance, my IPL / SPL is 2.26
My radio version is 2.26 also
Had a very similar experience to yours myself. A new battery fixed the problem. I dunno about that bulging battery of yours... sounds a bit ominous.

Erm let's see, i also flashed the IPL/SPL and radio software after the romflash, IPL/SPL is now 3.08 and GSM (radio?) is now 02.25.11. I think it used ti be 2.26 before flashing. As for the rom, i can't remember. I did some searching on the forum and i think it's [02 Jul] Wm.6.1 Os.19588 - Dutch - Beta! wich can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393841&highlight=dutch

I took some time and went through the threads for the Dutch Beta, but am limited by my language. I flash english versions only - so not much help I am afraid.
I would recommend you post your dropped and missed call issue directly into the rom you identified above - others may be having - or had similar issues and a quick easy fix is available.
But in the end - you need a battery for sure
Good luck
Okay, just ordered a brand new battery today wich should arrive tomorrow by mail When my Wizard proves to be stable i will flash a new ROM and see if that fixes that problem as well Many thanks for your help
P.S: I'm looking for a battery cover and a stylus, since my battery cover is missing one hook (so it won't close perfectly) and i never had a stylus since i bought my Wizard from a friend, who lost it
Hey Johrizz,
You should be able to find a stylus and battery door on google shopping and / or ebay. I just ordered a pack of stylus's for a couple bucks and a dollar for shipping. I've seen battery door's for sale for about 8-10 dollars... Just make sure to notice the shipping charges LOL.
I don't know if it's really required but here's what I tend to do with a new battery and have had good success.
1) for the first charge (and anytime I'm going to flash a new ROM) charge it fully (till the light is green and not orange) with the AC charger and not the USB / computer cable.
2) flash a stock operator rom and test it for a day or so to make sure the Wizard doesn't have some other hardware problem, weird battery drainage, etc.
3) Once you're sure that your Wizard is stable and FULLY CHARGED Flash your favorite ROM
Good luck with it!

HTC Touch Diamond making random phone calls

Just short of doing a hard reset of the phone there isn't much else I can think of to be causing this. Therefore I am turning to you.
Randomly my phone will decide to call one person roughly about 6 or 7 times. The phone is never in use when this happens. Often notice this happening while the phone is being charged. The phone is usually plugged in, screen locked and in the leather case that came with it. So far I have noticed it being the same contact however previously a friend complained that I called him a couple times while he was at work (phone was in my pocket) and it is possible this has happened with my voice mail.
I have the stock HTC Rom from Rogers (GSM)
ROM Version: 1.93.631.8 WWE
ROM Date: 10/30/08
Radio Version: 1.00.25.06
External Apps:
A_C_S2U2
Montecristoff Diamond Tweak
iDevelopStuff & Marzens Touch_InCall_Tweak
Microsoft Facebook
Google Maps
mUn BackGround4AllPages v.02
Sushi's Diamond TF3D Config
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just short of removing the apps and waiting to see the only other option is hard reset the phone which is what I am trying to avoid.
Cheers!
[Edit]
I guess this is a duplicate thread. I noticed a few other posts (finally) of people experiencing the same issues. I guess I will try and upgrade the radio if that is my only other option aside from a hard reset. One concern is is there a way to remove Hard-SPL if I need to send my phone in for repair? I would assume yes and if this is the case can I backup the original SPL or is the original HTC one available? Also can you extract the existing radio for a backup? Clearly I am a newb when it comes to all this (first smart phone) and I am just slightly skeptical...

Ahaha!
Maybe then she will pay the phone bill that will be incurred due to the random calling.
Last night I tried to backup the stock rom on the phone to try flashing the energy rom but to no avail. I kept receiving the itsutils.dll error. I even moved the dll myself and now have the new one on the phone but it still will not give me the rom information so I can back it up. I am going to try using another computer tonight possibly and see; but I am certainly running out of options!
You think thats strange, my house phone called my touch diamond when I was in plain sight of both phones, and yes I was the only person in the house. It only called once and it rang twice then rang off......is it ringing any other numbers? thats not a question
Well I don't know whats going on but it hasn't done anything lately. I upgraded S2U2 to the latest (doubt thats the case) so only time will tell.

HTC TyTN II Battery:

HTC TyTN II Battery: I hope not to be OT ..... I played with several ROMs, especially by the great chef AF.
Recently I brought my assitance Kaiser so I reported it to the original Radio ROM. Returning dall'asssitenza I left the original ROM, replacing only the radio 1.71.09.01 with Emo.
To the surprise performance of the original WM6.1 increased. I have doubts about battery life, that with normal use (a few phone calls and various connections) and the battery life of approximately 30 hours. On the duration seems normal.
Ovvimente return to more 'open to some excel ROM 6.5. Have good day
30 hours so a day + on 6.5 chillax it's pretty normal
b.t.w removed your double post
I also have a battery problem, my tytn2 lasts less then a day with normal use (calls, sms, mails, pdf reader, 3g connection). I was adviced by the chef AF to change my radio to 1.65.16.25 and i'm trying it out today: few calls, sms, 20min pdf reader, updated the weather and i took from the charger at 08:00 it's now 15:40 and still have 75% of my battery. If you are saying that radio 1.71.09.01 is even better i will try it out.
Question: How does the radio influences the rom besides sound and camera???
I have been looking for an explanation but still haven't found one. I really would like to know what it is and what it does to my device.

Thanks for the reply. Although it doesn't answer my question. I need my tytn to be reliable and it must last at least a day. I can't be testing every radio that is available risking myself to be without a phone when i need to be connectable at all time. Anyone can give me a feedback about the best (performance/durability) for my tytn. I use the rom from AF (sorry it's the "competition") and i find it very complete and reliable. The only thing that is bugging me is the battery life. I've read that the 1350mah (dynapac) isn't much of a long lasting thing but even though, less then a day???????? I had a touch before this and i sold it because of the battery life.

Well then the answer is to stay on stock with the matched radio as will have had previously, since time is what is needed just like what chefs put into cooking..
Didn't post about it's down to the user just because i like people to take time it's a must as no one will have exact the same credentials as you.
I get about 2-3 days out of my ROM, another thing you could look into is extended battery's
WOW up to 3 days with your rom, normal usage i presume??? A bit like i do???
We are talking about v5 right??? If that's the problem i will flash it and try it out for a few days........ Please advice.... rom and radio???

Read faq #4.....the radio isn't really a " radio " in the sense of the word. It is firmware.
I personally think that the mater the " firmware " version significantly affected battery life is still up for debate. But the proof is in the putting. So try different ones for yourself and let us know.
Thanks for your reply, how is the rom from stylez behaving?? I see you have radio 1.65.24.xxx but you're also in the U.S. I don't have the time to "try" other radios since the tytn2 is my main device and i need to be connectable at all time. Just this week i needed to make some calls and i got a odd response from my boss: or buy a new phone or get lost!!!!!! So i need my tytn2 to "behave " at least from 08:00 untill 22:00.
becosemsaida
Stylez' rom is great, hands down the best 6.1 out there. I use 1.65.xxxxx because that is the one that came with my stock AT$T rom so I have found no need to change it. Stylez is in UK and uses 1.70.19.09 and that works well for him.
If you don't have the time to test, find others from Portugal and see what they are using or look at people's signitures in Stylez' thread and see what other people are using
