HTC pure q's - Windows Mobile Themes

I am looking for a way to overclock my CPU in my Pure, to run livw wallpapers, and also an app or cab file that will allow live wallpapers to be used,
I am using cr192 mozart rom, latest update, and it has two included in it, however no other live wallpapers work..
Help?

Hi, Pure is Diamond 2 / Topaz right ?
Use WiMoSpeed, search the forum for it. It's 100% stable, very easy to use. Read trough the post, when you find it, it's not a long thread. Install on SD card is recommended, for fail boot safety.
Just for info: my TD2 goes up to 710mhz. It depends how old the device is, but the latest models can go up to 690 / 710 mhz. Good luck.

winmospeed work on omnia II with stock rom?

I have TD2 too and 710mHz works well.

Slow Cooked ROMs

Hi, i've searched the forum, but I'ven't found nothing, so please forgive me, if this issue was already posted.
I'm a touch hd user for a while, since I bought it i've always used cooked roms, miri's, dutty's, kwbr's.
Probably due to continue flashing different roms my hd became very slow and the iterfaces became not smooth. Reading in the forum I found someone suggesting to reflash the stock rom to "reset" the device from different changes. I've tryed for a while the stock rom and is icredibly fast and smooth, pretty strange...
Done that I tryed some htc sense rom, i've tryed all of them and the graphic smoothness is reallt bad expecially in the music tab in landscape mode and in the footprints tab.
What i'm asking is: is my hd a dumb, or maybe the hardware requirements do not allow to operate smoothly with that roms.
Tech Data:
I always flash copying the BLACIMG.nbh on the storage card, for me it looks safer and quicker.
I've tryed installing gfxboost and neos driverpack, nothing changed...
Hope you can help
Best regards, and thanks for your awesome work here.
Nicola
P.S. sorry if I made some grammar mistakes
If you use any of the manila 2.5 ROMs, then they WILL be comparitively slower than the manila 2.1 ROMs.
Its because, the graphical requirements are not enough with the hardware of HD.
They are made for a superior hardware device -the HD2.
If you want a faster ROm-use wm6.1 or wm6.5 with manila 2.1
If you want features- go with slower newer ROMs
I also tried a lot of roms and noticed that the poor performance of my HD is due to manila 2.5 and not from WM 6.5.
To win speed you must install a clear Rom just like Miri's XtraLight Rom and then install the shell that you want.
This is what I did:
I flashed Miri's ExtraLight and installed Spbmobileshell with the Sense UI skin found at www.mobilecustom.fr to have the modern look.
And the results where amazing:
Not only my device is now very smooth and fast but it has also more than 120 mb free even with spbmobileshell installed while I was having only 80~70 mb free with manila 2.5.
many thanks, i will try your solution

HELP! HTC Hero CDMA, 2.1 question

Hello, i recnetly upgraded to 2.1 when it came out, it did all the updates etc, and once i got to use it. its seems to be SO much slower/laggier than b4, was fine b4, but now internet, apps, and pretty much everything has a delay, any1 got same problems?
Im thinking the new 2.1 takes more RAM/CPU like xp to vista, so is there a way to make it faster? Overcloking widget? plz help
Are you rooted? If not, then do it. Install one of the many ROMs available and you can even flash a 1.5 ROM back onto your phone. I think the kernel needs to be changed to enable overclocking, but some of the ROMs have it with the SetCPU Widget.
Please use the Search function in the forum as you can probably find most of your answers by doing so.
What ur favorite rom for the hero to use?
I suggest Fresh 2.1.2. Very fast, very stable.

Overclocking the Stock Rom on Heroc

I like the stock ROM because it works. I think all I really need is root access and overclocking to have a good fast phone. What would be the best kernel to use with it if all I want is overclocking? Is not having a custom ROM a stupid idea?
Here's your ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=703267
It's basically the stock Sprint 2.1 ROM that's been de-odexed. I use it and am plenty happy. If you like the stock Hero look and feel, then you'll be plenty happy with this ROM.
I'm also using an overclock kernel. You can use the SetCPU app (available for free elsewhere on this site) to fine-tune your max and min CPU clock speeds.
Here's a link to a whole family of overclock kernels, some of which were cooked up specifically to work well with the above-mentioned ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705074
I've been using the regular 710mhz version of kernel listed for that ROM, but yesterday I loaded the 710mhz undervolt version just to see if my battery life would benefit any. Not that my battery life is a problem at all, though...in fact I've been getting GREAT battery life with the regular 710 mhz kernel I was running before.
I am using the same Rom but I seem to have issues with the OC kernels specifically for the Rom. I use the DarchHoneyOCV3 kernel and do not seem to have any issue with that one.

That's the same kernel I was using before I went to the UV 710mhz for nfinitefx45...DarchHoneyOCV3 is a good kernel for sure, can't find fault with it.
Forgot to mention in my previous post, the reason I recommend the nfinitefx45 ROM is because it includes apps2sd, which lets you put your apps on the sd card and frees up active RAM (hope I stated that correctly). I never worry about running out of memory any more. And for all intents and purposes, it looks, feels and acts just like the factory Sprint 2.1 release. When you're done with the install, just use your phone like it was completely factory stock (only faster and smoother) if that's what makes you happy. On the other hand, if you want you can install the SetCPU app and tweak it however you want.
Don't be afraid to take the plunge, parrothead. You'll be in good company. And you almost can't go wrong going with the same combination Tibedabeeto did, as long as you can follow simple directions (I know I should put a disclaimer in there somewhere, LOL).

[Q] Best Android distribution for Kaiser

Hello all,
I'd like to ask which is the best distribution of Android for Kaiser - I mean everything working fine and so on.
I have HardSPL 3.29 and Radio 1.70.19.09 .. I tried one distro (Froyo 2.2 - Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS14 All Languages) but when I started it.. it runs some time then the screen goes dark like sleep.. but when I press the power the screen image is broken... like white lines on the screen.. (this happens on both Incubus Super FroYo and Myn's Donut) ... I don't know is there some additional software that should be installed...
I use starting with HaReT via SD card...
I appreciate any help... Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Dimitar Dimitrov
The screen problem is wrong panel type, edit the default.txt in andboot folder, change the panel type, (board-htckaiser.panel_type=X), it can be either 1,2 or 3, if the display looks fine apart from sleep issues when you press power key, chances are you have a panel type 3, panel types 2 and 3 display the same, but have sleep issues if you choose the wrong one.
As for the best build? That is something you have to find out for yourself, not being funny, just that everyone has a different idea of 'best'
Thanks a lot!
Okay about the distribution... As I am new to Android at all... Can you please tell me your opinion about which distribution is working on kaiser (probably one you have tested and you are happy with it)
Thanks once again!
Kind regards!
Depends on what you want.
If you want speed, go with Myn's Warm Donut.
If you want to more apps, and less speed, go with Eclair.
If you want the latest apps and even less speed, try Froyo.
Thank you I'll try which one is working well on my kaiser and i'll choose one.. sorry for stupid questions anyway just i think it is better to ask someone who passed by those kinds of issues

I think I have tried all of them, and only 1 is working fine and fast for me: dzo's froyo (currently 26-08-2010). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715402 (get it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/ ) (the latest builds include all of the fixes, you don't need to patch anything after installing).
I am running it with haret on the SDcard. It's so fast and smooth I don't even feel the need to flash it to the nand (which would work even faster).
The eclair builds, (polymod 2.1d, etc...) even with compcache enabled they are too slow. Cyanogenmod is also extremely slow, and it was also freezing while the phone was sleeping). And the Donut builds are lacking features.
On my kaiser the dzo froyo build is at least as fast as the fastest donut builds I have used, and it's rock stable. Far better than the eclair and other froyo builds like cyanogenmod.
PS: do not use any "unodexed" or "deodexed" builds. They are slower.

On my kaiser this build feels like it came flashed originally instead of windows mobile. In comparison, the other builds felt like "hacks": slow and/or buggy.
Myn's RLS5 is the best for my kaiser.
And what about battery life?, Cyanogen literaly drain power in a few hours, froyo from dzo is better, but still is a problem for these builds.
Any recommendation?, the old Donut build battery lafe is the best (at least for me) but after several days the phone signal drops to zero, and i cant recover it !!
Please, your comments, thanks in advance!
yap i have same problem with phone signal. i wonder why...
Had this problem with a number of builds, turns out that using the 1.71 radio was the problem, reflashing 1.65 radio cured my 'No Signal' problems, sometimes latest is not always best

I downloaded the latest system-WHATEVER for dzo's froyo...on my hd2 you unzip a zip...extract Android dir to SD card and run haret to start android....where exactly is haret and the other things to actually boot the system? It's not in the .tgz's being posted in that sourceforge dir.

This has been my experience too. I tried several of each of the donut/eclair/froyo builds but the lastest kernel along with dzo's fresh froyo have made a world of difference. Way faster than even the donut builds that had previously been the faster of all of them.

HaRET is a separate tool, you can get it here.
2011 Builds
Hi
I see that no new builds are posted and for all the latest downloads are from 2010.
I tried using aTools and also downloaded new Froyo from SourceForge.net, but no luck - Android hangs. What other files should be updated to for all to work?
I understand, that aTools ia a mgnificent tool, and everybody can "cook" his own version at home, but it is not totally clear regarding what should be used as basefiles, or if you download a distribution (like i did system-froyo-all-odex-29-08-11_19-patched.tgz) will it properly work, or what should be done to work.
Any advices?
I just erased my CyonogenMod because was a bit slow and as i read, DZO froyo should do it.
Creating the defaul.txt is not a problem. My concern is the zimage, the initrd and the androidinstall to work together properly.
Cheers

OK? solved: i had to swith aTools to use a Stable branch and downloaded another initrd. Now all went smooth, and i have latest android on my Kaiser - working fast.
No FileManager, but WiFi works, so as Market, so just download
As a last step, i created with atools an androidupdate file to change my keyboard settings.
That's it.
Astro was not showing up in Market so i went here and downloaded the apps / widgets as a standalone update: forum.smartphonejunkie.com/windows-mobile-apps/202417-dzos-fresh-froyo-2-2-odexed-vanilla-rls6-7-2-10-a.html
I have a single problem now: market does not show all the apps. I search for something, gives me 411 results, but shows only 2 apps. Why is that?
How can market be fixed?

This thread is a YEAR old. Of course there are newer roms after that date
I know there are newer roms, but had not been posted. But no problem, i found what i wanted, and i installed Android. Fixed market also.
I have another problem, and maybe i can reformulate the topic's title:
Which Android build is best for Kaiser's battery life?
I mean, the newest froyo drained my battery in one night. Windows Mobile last 3-4 days - depending on the use.
Tough question?

Which rom is fastest and has best battery life, features not important

Hey guys just picked up a g1 for temporary use. I would just like to know which rom has the quickest response time when opening an app(browser, mail, dialer, maps mainly) and has the best battery life. I'm not interested in features, just need it ONLY to read emails and make phone calls and occasional surfing and gps. Should I just stick with stock rom then? Thanks
ADP1 stock rom... not tmobile.
cyanogenmod 5.0 I use is fast .
the android system is 2.1 .
May be you need Froyo by Laszlo? )))
i think frosense v0.9 is much stable and fast
If you want a CM6 ROM FroyobyLalzo, don't use the Kernel that comes with it. Once you flash the ROM flash the latest Ezterry Kernel for Froyo
AOSP Either FroyoMelt, or DreamTeam
CM7 - DietGingerbread
2.1 Biffmod I think :3
Personally I use FBL a lot. The Kernel in it is a hacked on so it has random reboot, so use the latest Ezterry. Then Set the cpu to 480 Max, 128 lowest. Screen off 352 max, 128 lowest. Then set that to interactive.
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
i've been using Laszlos' ROM but recently tried DreamTeams. i found out that is features froyo 2.2.2 instead of 2.2.1.
not sure whether or not this causes my problem but since "upgrading" i cant seem to find lot of apps at Market, maybe because of not verified fingerprint or such.
investigating are due. would be happy to use DT ROM because its basod on ASOP not CM and such.
