Anyone got theirs running perfectly??? I've used auto nooter for 1.0.1 and cm7 r1 @ 1.1ghz and both lag compare to my captivate/galaxy tab.
I've noticed a slight lag sometimes, but the greatest lag I get in doodlejump.

My q is this: Has anyone been able to confirm that the lag is there on ALL phones if we assume they have the same fw and apps installed?
Nope my brother has orginal Bell i9000 without any hacks or mods abd his runs blazing fast .....i was so surprised!!

JH2 rom stock no lag fix, running very fast, no delay at all
400+ apps installed, i use about 200 of them, most of them are tools or games
I must have about 300 apps installed and am still on stock with no lag fix and the only time I get lag is when updating or installing from the market.
Stock JM1, no root or lagfix, only issues I have are with the slow arse marketplace.
Running JPK.
Without lagfix it runs ok. But when I install the lag fix the speed increase is obvious. Apps start and stop with little to no delay, media scanning at boot takes a fraction of the time, and the odd stutter from going through menus in apps is virtually eliminated.
Until you've compared the phone with and without the lagfix on the same firmware, you wont be able to give a decent answer.
I think most people would be happy with the performance mainly because they haven't experienced anything faster and compared other fast phones.
And maybe some firmwares suffer from lag less than others. Seems to be a bit worse in Froyo but I could be wrong, it's been a while since I used Eclair now.
Hmm, what does this all imply? Can we be sure this is a sw issue when some phones with hundreds of apps have no lag but mine with 100 apps lags as h...?
I have a recent Bell i9000m with stock JH2 and no lag. I've only installed maybe 20 additional apps but the phone is used heavily throughout the day (music, videos, facebook, twitter, browsing, along with regular voice/text).
I ran OCLF just to try it but didn't find any difference in performance, just an over inflated Quadrant score.
Can some lag depend on what memory card is used? Fast quality cards vs Cheaper cards?
I have never had any really annoying lag

A cheaper/slower external SD card wouldn't cause any system lag because the system isn't doing regular read/writes with it. It might cause a photo gallery or music index to load a bit slower if that kind of data was on the card.
I run a class 4 micro SD and the performance doesn't change.
Hi,
I've been recently playing some Dungeon Defenders on my SGS and well it is still sort of choppy when under stress. What bugs me is the fact that some people (with the same phone) claim to be having a clear lag-less game experience.
I've tried to switch ROMs and went from 2.1 stock eclair, trough 2.2.1 stock EU to latest Darkys 8.0 (with voodoo enabled). I have to say that there was some improvment, but it still has a long way to go.
Now, as Im looking for better gaming experience, I would like to ask if there is better ROM (not that I wouldn't be satisfied with this one though ) gaming-wise.
I also noticed, when running Quadrant Advanced (now getting 1350-1650 which is wierd. I mean 300 difference between two runs ??) that my CPU was, at the time, running at 400MHz with minimum frequency set as low as 100MHz, which seems ridiculous to me. I mean I know that CPU frequency changes in accordance with how much stress are we putting on it, but isn't it possible that even under stress my CPU runs "slower" ?
I would love to somehow improve my phone but as I already have voodoo in place, the only way to do so would be to overclock CPU right ? Or am I missing some other way to improve my phone ?
If Im not, than how safe is the overclocking ?
what would you suggest ?
Thanks everyone for your answers !!!
btw, Im sorry if I misplaced this message !
Uhmm, I can't advice you about the lag. I don't find it choppy playing Dungeon Defenders. Everything is smooth sailing. But it is safe to overclock. There might or might not be stability issues with your phone. Every phone varies. Like mine, I could get max OC to 1.3GHZ and then the phone freezes but I have friends who can OC to 1.6GHZ.
I don't recommend you to overclock though, I have some freezes in game (gameloft games especially) when OCed to 1.2GHZ.
Hi!
I posted this afternoon because I wanted to get more from my sgs and i still had doubts.
I finally made it to put Darky's room 9.3 in my sgs with no problems. Fact is that... i don't know, maybe its me, but i think i'm experiencing little bit of lag. Last quadrant i did was around 1110.
Any idea if this is normal?
Thank you in advance
Quadrants don't mean anything. Some people get crazy numbers and still feel like they have lag. Don't rely on the numbers for determining if you have lag or not. If your apps are opening quickly, as in you don't just sit there looking at a black screen, then you have relatively no lag. If you still feel you have lag, then apply a lagfix
Personally speaking, darkyy's rom has almost no lag at all in opinion, but to each his own
I get loads of lag when I turn on lagfix in darky rom with the option: convert system
Does anyone know if CM7 or any other ROM Build other than Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 has or is coming out with Video Hardware Acceleration? I currently use Nookie Froyo on my NC and it ROCKS! I would like to upgrade but that feature is a must.
Also has anyone else had a problem with waking the NC from sleep after 30-60 mins? I believe it's from using SetCPU. I tried different profiles and it still happens. After I uninstalled SetCPU the sleep/wake up issue went away.
Thanks!
Anyone have success with this? Game graphics look srunning before it fcs.
Nobody?
installed, downloaded the sd data, unchecked compatibility mode in spare parts, rebooted.
campaign finished
Thanks, but that didn't work. Must be a kernel issue.
Close to 300 views. I must not be the only one.
Anyone got anything on this?
Works fine for me. Although I'm running totally stock Xoom.
OC GPU Kernel?
Are you using the Tiamat kernel with the overclocked GPU? I noticed that on the OC GPU kernel, GOF2 crashed every few minutes. I switched to the standard kernel (still the latest 1.7Ghz Tiamat kernel, just not the OC GPU), and I haven't crashed since. I think I had a similar issue with Riptide GP and the OC GPU kernel, but the standard Tiamat kernel runs great and doesn't crash at all (at least on my Xoom).
I am running GOF2 on a stock Euro 3.1 and I have the same FC issues...
