Hi there, I've been searching around the web and notice that there is a lot of custom ROMs out there for my Desire HD.
Is there any custom ROM that you can recommend?
At the same time can provide me the link to that recommended ROM site?
- I've rooted my DHD using VISIONary +
- Have also turned S-Off via Easy Radio Tool
Thank you.

As you said there's lots available: Revolution, LeeDroid, Cyanogen, MIUI to name a few.
I think it's down to personal choice in the end of the day but you'll have to do some research as to which one you prefer. Personally I'm back running LeeDroid after a brief play around with Revolution. I didn't find too much difference between the two but apparently LeeDroid's kernel is good for battery so I've gone back.
I doubt that this will be my final ROM though, once you flash you just can't stop!
Thanks guys.. will use the ROMs wisely before downloading. x)
RobSimmo, are you using this LeeDrOiD HD V2.0.0?
Actually I am looking for trying out 2.3 Gingerbread for my DHD. Do you know where i can get it?

Well, lots of ROMs have problems initially at least and having a roll-up thread pointing to all ROMs (good and in-development) seems ok because the links given, point to the threads where the problems (if there are any) are detailed. In some ways too, the more people that take the gamble and try them, then the more feedack on issues goes to the chef.
Mike
you're right.
Was a little frastrated no Roms working correctley.
Hi
Has some of them (if yes which) hungarian included?
thx,
DB
Hi, dbezzegh,
There are no roms out yet with Hungarian but there is the country Hungry! The language for that will be English.

I actually wanted to get a recovery console on the Legend... I just got into the Rooting-scene and looking for Legend specific roms is really difficult!
If I were to get HTC Hero roms and apply them, is that a bad thing?
yeah i wanna get to recovery console too, havent figured it out tho!

Just download ROM manager from the market and install (from the app) Clockworkmod recovery. works totally fine
Your phone needs to be rooted tho.
you can add: [ROM]APP2SD ROM, Base on Official WWE_2.03.405.3 ROM to the list of working roms too, i haven't had any problems at all with it

Hi, i have DHD and this is my first request!....after a OTA's upgrade on gingerbread, i downgrade my device with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003 and i've 2.2.
Now what i've to do? i need a rom stable and fast, simple and without many effects, but essential, that allows me to have a long battery usage. I would also increase the wifi reception of the DHD...
What do you recommend me to install and wich guides to follow?
Thanks but I'm really inexperienced!
The most common answer: Read the different ROM threads and try some.
But my advice to your requirements is to try mike1986's Gingerbread release.
Stable, Up2date, ready for daily use..
You will find the thread on your own ;-)

Is there a way to get all the features of the 3.0 sense into my phone via ROM?
I have searched other places...some of them dont work on my phone. I am starting to think that there are alot of partial 3.0 roms out there
Am I right?
I seen a Youtube video where someone had pretty much ALL the features. I tried looking for it but cant find it.
Is there such thing?

Just install Virtuous Unity. It's a custom ROM ported directly from Sensation so with full Sense 3.0 features. Very fast and bug free.

please take some time out and read through these forums before you venture installing custom roms.
your statement above obviously shows you have not read much and this could damage your phone and/or the patience of certain members here
am sure you'll have all the answers you need if you do look around
You can also use revolution HD with sense 3.0 add-ons - most 3.0 improvements are there. For truly 3.0 experience, however, Virtuous Unity rom is better.
Help me pleae
ClockworkMod recovery wont let me in my recovery settings. In fact the second I go to it from ROM manager the screen goes black and then takes me to my HTC screen and just stays there.
Pressing the down volume button and the power button gives me the recovery option, but will do the same exact thing.
I cant even go back to factory settings.
I went to go flash this rom when it happened, I probably did it wrong but would like to just restore my origional phone/settings and just forget about this whole
flashing rom idea.
PLEASE help me. How do I get to my restore so I can go back to my old settings???
Use the latest 4EXTRecovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104765
ClockWork does not allow latest ROM flashing
Thanks , got it figured out. Finally
Ohh thats why I wasnt able to flash it.. I found that out the hard way until someone told me about 4EXT. It worked like a charm
Guys, just need small help, even though i am going through the threads and forums but will appreciate if someone can suggest me that which is best recovery, kernel and ROM for HTC Desire C. What i have come to know till now is that Revolution Sense 3.1 is better. Need suggestions please?
There is no "best" rom...
You looking for speed? Revolution super stripped
You looking for fluid transitions and a whole new look and feel? Xperialised sense
Looking for full featured, near aosp? Revolutionmod
I wouldn't use any other kernel than Prometheus, try to find a boot img that your device can handle....
And for a recovery you ought to go with twrp
Hit thanks I'd this helped
Sent from my HTC Desire C
i prefer the revolution rom's out of all i have tried so far (currently running the revolutionmod ver 5) but the creator of that and a few others on here including myself are working all available free time to get a fully stable Cyanogen rom for the device
once cm is ported and operational keep your eyes peeled for the BlisteringNinjah roms i will be attempting to create XD xOxOxOx
Best Rom
Depends what kind of style you want. ive currently got M!U! which is a port of MIUI and so far its looking good but there others you can look at just go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1989 and look for threads with "ROM"
my apologies if this question has been asked before but since i couldnt find it anywhere so i am posting now:
this is my first time rooting an android device and that too coz recently my htc desire c had become super slow so i unlocked bootloader and downloaded the hasoon2000 tool but after the recovery step i was totally lost on how to flash kernel and all so i switched to superboot and i successfully rooted my phone.
now i wanted to install a rom so i chose nameless rom but the instructions were so confusing and i messed up. i couldn't install it and then my phn wnt start so i went back to hasoon2000 and flashed kernel using the boot.img from the nameless rom and my phn was back up but my wifi is not on anymore. its says error and i saw that my mac address was gone. then i tried again installing the rom and this time i did successfully install it but my wifi is gone
i have two questions:
1. how can i get my wifi back in this rom?
2. can i install any other rom and if i do then will i get my wifi back?

Click on the second link in my signature.. Look for Prometheus Sense Kernel there. Flash that using fastboot, (or the toolkit) and your wifi should be back.

The 'method' to install any ROM is the same and its not difficult. And there is no such thing as a best rom. It's just personal preferences. So if you like HTC Sense, then go for Revolution or Sensational Rom. And if you like a more 'Nexus-like' feel then we've got a lot of JB Roms for you. JB ROMs are believed to be faster than Sense ROMs in general.
So just look at threads of the different ROMs and once you decide to install, download it. I'm running Cyanogenmod 10 right now. I've been using it for a long while now. It was the first JB rom made for this phone and all the other ROMs are made using this as a base..
We even have Samsung-like and Xperia-like Roms. So if you're interested in that, have a look.
And for Sense, Sensational ROM V4 is the most up to date ROM we have. It has a Sense 5 feel to it..
Hope that helps a bit. One more thing - never ask for best rom or best kernel. It's bad manners. But we can understand as you're new..
