How do I go about installing an alternate browser (Skyfire, Dolphin, Miren or Opera Mini) on the NC. I am running deeper-blue's Honeycomb V4. I have Marketplace and Google Apps installed BUT for whatever reason none of these browsers show up in Marketplace when I search for them. The reason I want to change is because the Stock Browser uses Mobile view (unless I type in Aboutebug in the address bar to change the UAString to Desktop). I don't want to have to do this everytime I reboot the NC. I like Skyfire because it's options for the Desktop User Agent is better. I have a Skyfire .apk and know how to use ADB. What's the command(s) to add an App (Skyfire) to the NC via ADB? Thanks
Nevermind. I figured it out via the Nook Color Portal. Just use adb install (name of .apk). That was easy. I now have Skyfire
While I've used adb to install the market and other google apps, using .apks downloaded from the thread explaining how, where do you get the .apks for other apps? If I go to the Dolphin site, for example, I'm just pointed to the market which will tell me it's not compatable with my LogicZoom....
One of the websites that i use for work requires Internet Explorer to view. Is there a compatible android browser or a way to trick it?
try with firefox beta and use the phony add-on. Then change user agent to IE.
Currently using a Nexus S 4G running Pete's GPA 19 and current Pete kernel. Reading news reports on the new Cluzee app which appears to be a Siri "like" app for android.
When I try to download the app from the web based market it states that my device is not supported. Anyone running the same phone/equipment as I able to run Cluzee?
TIA - Cabotcat
Patience is a virtue...... the program is now downloading and installing.
cant find the app in market, on ICS in UK.
I accessed market.android.com on my laptop. After logging in with my google credentials I simply indicated the device on which I wanted the program installed. The web site did the rest. However be advised that I am not on ICS.
The android browser does not keep me logged in. Whenever i close the browser, it logs off sites I was logged into and so very annoying. I have had this problem since I did the software update throught the settings. The Firefox or other browsers don't give this problem. But i find the android browser simpler and better to use. How do I fix it? I obviously tried clearing cache and passwords and all the options in there.*
I'm using a galaxy tab 8.9''.

Have you tried the chrome browser? It is overall similar to the android browser (thanks google!). It may help keep you logged in.
Well recently my fire updated itself to 5.3.3 without my permission. Now Firefox will not connect to the internet despite also updating to the latest. I was using a User Agent Switcher to fool some websites into thinking I am using a PC version of firefox but I disabled it. Anyone know what is wrong there?
