Tiger Labs Nintendo DS Emulator - G Tablet Themes and Apps

Found this browsing around XDA, installed it on the G-tablet and ran a few games, works, just slow. As a prototype, this is pretty cool. Check it out, don't ask for roms because I'm sure the mods will kick you in your "Special Purpose", Ding-Ding, ect.

or

That's cool. I paid for their GBA emulator and it works amazing. They make a solid product. Plus it was nice to not just look longingly at my Zelda: link to the past cartridge /4 swords cartridge. Would gladly pay for a DS emulator as I'm sure my DS systems days are numbered. It doesn't matter how good you take care of something, i know the minute I turn my back on my toddler its going to be an expensive fish tank decoration.
Good find, thanks.

Has this been updated since?

Nesroid

Just thought I'd point out a full NES emulator on the market which works perfectly at full speed with sound and saving state. It's called Nesroid. I've tried it with a few games and it seems to work perfectly, although the sound is a little static-y.
Yeah I saw that this morning. I was waiting on a little more feedback before I bought it. Im looking forward to some Captain Skyhawk...
Yeah, I tried to buy it with my dad's credit card, but i stucked at "validating credit card" or something like that (i'm german) so i mailed the developer asking him for e.g. paypal .. still waiting for answer <.< GNAH GIMME ZELDA

I posted some feedback on it here

**Nesoid
Saw this posted on here and HAD to test it out...!! But when searching for Nesroid, I received no results. It's actually under Nesoid (no R) But regardless, I am very impressed. There are comments on the market page for it stating there is NO sound..well that's not true. I tested FF1, FF2, Kirby's Adventure, Zelda, and Megaman, all work flawlessly!! Full speed, sound, everything. ^-^ Keeping it, worth the $1.99..this is what I've been waiting for.. now hopefully, there will be more on a Genesis or SNES emulator..though I know an SNES one is in the works and should be out by end of June... crap..I don't have the link, but the developers are very focused on speed, sound, and save states..! I will find that link...eek.
you mean, this one:
http://www.supergnes.com/
Yeah it works well. I guess why some don't have sound is because of the lack of Open GL drivers in their firmware (HAHAHAHHAHAHA! screw them ). There is lite (free) version that seems to be the same thing... I'm kinda pissed because there seems to be no difference between the two! At this point... I normally would refund and get the free (exact duplicate!!) one but I feel bad because I have waited for this since I got my G1. Hummm.... the Touch Pro 2 is coming to T-MO USA in July and I was gonna go back to WM (keep my Dream as a back up) but it gets easier to decide not to with each day of fantastic Android innovation, port, or emulator. Hell, it's good to have choices! Now T-Mobile is finally giving us MANY more (cough, cough, Samsung Android w/ 8GB internal memory coming in fall)
Looks like my battery life will suffer severely thanks to this app. Sound gets choppy when the phone starts accessing data, which sucks, but it is still awesome
works on jf 1.5.... The sound for me doesn't work but every game I have played on it works 100% This is a dev who knows what a good product is!
its about time a decent emulator came out, if ScummVM works fine i dont see why all the other emulators till now had to suck...

Maybe you should try to write a high performance emulator in Java. Then you'd find out.
Freedomcaller:
You have no clue what an emulator, OR scummvm is, do you?
An emulator simulates all low-level calls, and basicly pretends it's a whole other computer... and that's while running all the other services and apps in the background.
That is not an easy thing to do, and especially not in pure interpreted java. That's why native/compiled code is probably used in that emulator.
ScummVM is *NOT* an emulator. SCUMM is an interpreted language, by lucas-art.
What ScummVM does is basicly just read some sort of script, and match the commands in the script, to local calls.
ScummVM is (relatively) easy to implement, and doesn't need a whole lot of horse-power (The NintendoDS runs it, and i think the GBA does too... and the GBA runs at 16MHz, with 384kB of RAM)
this emulator works great, i tested 5 nes rom and they all runs and sounds perfectly.
this is from 1.5 H build.
the graphic looks cool when g1 screen is so small.
now lets give us SNES emulator please

This emulator is so fast in fact, I suspect this app has a component of native code in it that is not Java at all. Doom had a piece of native code in it.

This is great!
Any chance buying the emulator for the ones outside T-Mobile networks?
u don't need tmobile?!
The lite version only plays one preloaded rom - Chip N Dale. I'm sure you could mess with the .apk to play other roms, but the work involved to make a good NES emulator is worth 2 bucks to me.
Well, let me try again then.. Is there any way to get this outside the market, as I live in a country that cannot browse any priced applications on the market.
Edit: I have no problem paying for it via paypal or something, it's just unavailable for me over the market and I really want this !

However you'll still need to attach a credit card to your Google Checkout to use it.
Lite version works with thedude's apps2sd rom, but the paid doesn't. the app.zip file isn't showing up as being downloaded, and market says it is. Anyone having this problem with an apps to sd rom?

SNesoid (SNES Emulator)

Anyone try it yet? Is it as good as Nesoid? I didn't find a free/trial version.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV - Turtles in Time
Tetris 2
Tetris Attack
X-Men - Mutant Apocalypse

Okay I kinda want to download an emulator, but I'm not sure of where to get the Rom's. Or do they come with the emulator? If not, then where do I get the Rom's from?
google for them...
where can I download a copy of this app? I've been waiting for an emulator for my

its no longer in the market...did they yank it like hair in a girl fight?
its definitely still there
My G1 is currently being replaced, however there is another snes emulator that is said to be out by end of June... supergnes (www.supergnes.com) so I might wait for that to compare..but nesoid and gensoid are both solid emulators, so I have no doubt this one is just as good ^-^ Will have to give it a real review tomorrow when I get my phone in the mail...
BUT...can some one post the games that don't work too well? That'd be pretty helpful!!

The only game so far that I've tried that had a little trouble was Killer Instinct. I was suprised it ran at all but it didn't run well at all. So far though Link to the past, super mario cart, and a few others ran great.
One thing I have noticed is the key bindings don't stay and I have to reset them everytime I play. There was an update for it recently and haven't played it since then. Anyone else get this?

downloaded yesterday and didnt notice any noticable difference when i updated, other than that its well done and im a champ at super punch out and mega man x
i DL yesterday but Mario World 2: Yoshi's island lagged so much and could get Mario RPG to work so i refunded. I'm waiting for that other SNES Emulator to come out in late June. If anyone was able to find a Mario RPG to work on the snesoid app plz let me know...its a deal breaker for me.

If you are a gamer, there are hundreds of worthy games that play great on Snesoid, so worrying about $3 in relation to this seems superfluous. I have tested over 150 roms and this emu plays 95% very well- and I am a picky SOB.
Cannon Fodder
Sensible Soccer
all FIFA's
NBA Live
Mario Allstars
Metroid
Contra 3
Space Megaforce
Tetris 1,2, Flash etc (and all are way better than the market Tetris)
NBA Jam
Mortal Kombat 3
Raiden (Not as good as Sega or Turbgrafx version, but plays great on Snesoid)
Rock N Roll Racing
Kirby's Avalanche
Every baseball game I tried (about 12)
Supernova
Gradius 3
Parodius
Side Pocket
Mr. Do
Etc, etc
This emu is amazing and well worth $3.
hey nice signature picture maxdamage2122, mind if i use it? Ill totally give u full credit lol
also, this emu is freakin sweet!
LOL are people seriously crying about someone using a picture in their signature? Boooo hooooooooooooooo LOL wow.
dont know how but when i paid 2.99 for this some kind of way it give me a backup of the apk file on my sdcard

Tried and True Emulator Apps (NES, GBA, ETC.)

Hello All,
I was hoping if anyone can post their experiences using thier emulator apps.
Been using 'Gameboid' for a few days now. Im pretty impressed it runs the games it does. Sound syncing is not 100 percent but doable or you can even turn off your sound. I can confirm Advance Wars works VERY well and is a must have if you use the program. I am overall satisfied with it and hopefully will continue to see more compatibility with more updates.
**PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY GAME DOWNLOAD SITES AS THIS THREAD MAY BE SUBJECT TO CLOSE IF YOU DO SO... Thank you.
I use Snesoid religiously. Love it.
i use gameboid and snes emulator regulary buyed.
snes go well, you can play but without sound because it eat more resources.
gameboid go, but it's a little bit slow, and it's a problem when you play games like micro machines, mario etc because you have to take an immediately responce, and you don't have it
i use a dream with cyanogen mod 4.2.5

Just got Snesoid yesterday and have used it for Link. Ill post my thoughts on it once I use it for a few days.
Theres a Genesis emulator out there too but I havent used it yet..
Hoping theres a few more people out there that can offer us more reviews on these apps.
There will NEVER be a game that will be an Android game as elaborate as a SNES, GBA and or NES one.. never.......

nes, genesis, snes, and gameboid emulators all work great, i've played quite a few games on all of them. scummvm is another great emulator (of sorts) and i've been playing return to zork, discworld series, 7th guest and beneath a steel sky with them.
still excited about gaming on this platform and it will only become better in the future.
If you like point & click games and missed out on many oldschool classic (or, wth, even want to play them again) i would recomend scumm. It works great on android device, especially if you have a trackball (kinda slugish it is, but for precise aming - priceless)
I've read about Android Arcade Emulator (capcom, neo-geo arcade games) but I'm not using it (those games where made for playing with mates - kinda hard on small device ), apparently it runs the more famous games without lag.
I also use gameboid. works great.

It depends on which game it is, its not 100 percent compatible yet. Also make sure the bios file is not compressed by any programs (ex. winrar, winzip and or power archiver)
Ive downloaded some games that force closes it as well. What I did was simply delete the game and threw another one into the SD card.
Report back and let me know your results and we can both figure out another solution if you cant play another game..
The best emulator out right now is ggNES. It runs NES games at full speed with sound on. No slow down, no errors, just perfect.
I like the xxxoid emulators, but the app author isn't making them run more efficiently, he's adding other stuff. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's even updating, but full speed emulation can be done, and ggNES had a free version to boot.
ggNES is a definite download and is running great on my G1.
Time to play Bionic Commando and kill me some Hitler:

Issue is, While RPGs and Tactic based games. (Yes I love advance wars) Are great on the emulators. Games like Star Sigma etc are harder.. even mario is hard. Seems action games are just harder to manage that fast paced stuff on the emulators. Anyone else notice that?
Or have they got better? Curious about the snes one tho if that runs smooth.
Edit: Just read others.. I agree I use gbaroid and nesroid and while the dev makes updates.. the speed seems to be the complaint.. but I really dont wanna buy ggnes just for speed after I paid for one.. heh..

ggNES is currently the best at playing Nes roms. Try the ggNES lite and see how it works out for you, if you like it why not buy it?
Snesoid runs good at least on my phone. Its also dependent on how many apps are using up your memory. Get Advanced Task Manager to fix that problem prior to using any emulator.
Ok Ill give it a shot. I use Taskiller pro personally. Works well I think. Unless you know something works better? Advanced Task Manager I have as well.
Maybe its decent enough to play River City Ransom. =)

There are alot of programs similar to Advanced Task Manager, yours is one of them. As long as they close unused programs it should be fine.
Hopefully you see improvement running River City with the Emulator change. Let us know how it went..

App Review: GENSOID

I just thought I would post a review of my recently favorite app: GENSOID.
Gensoid is an Sega Genesis console emulator for Android.
I use the free version, but with the paid version you can do things like save the game state, etc. (the free version saves wherever the ROM game can save, but the paid version lets you save anywhere/anytime, which can be useful for some, but I prefer the original gameplay)
Features:
on-screen, fully-customizable controller
fast-forward option (for those slow-scrolling games)
auto-rotate capable
decent battery utilization (played 4 hours straight once on a plane, still had some battery left)
Full Sound/Mute options
Fast responding emulator
I must say I really miss playing on the Genesis, and when I saw this in the market I had to get it. So far I have played:
Phantasy Star
Phantasy Star II
Phantasy Star III
Phantasy Star IV
Sonic the Hedgehog
Master of Monsters
Herzog Zwei
ToeJam and Earl
My list to try next are:
Shadowrun
Beyond Oasis
Shining Force
Shining Force 2
Land Stalker
I have not experienced any problems with it, other than the fact that the control takes a little getting used to.
ROMs are readily available on the net. Even though all Genesis games are out of production downloading them without owning the original cart may be of questionable legality, so I won't recommend any particular method of acquiring ROMs.
Overall I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Try FPse... its a playstation emulator... currently playing chrono cross and its working flawlessly. I really like the controls too.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I will have to give that a try.
Thanks.
It runs great...Tekken 3 at 60fps on my phone...quite a sight!
Where do you get the games at?
Wrong question mate...that goes into piracy if you do not own the games to rip them so we do not talk about that stuff here.

You can see my disclaimer at the bottom:
"ROMs are readily available on the net. Even though all Genesis games are out of production downloading them without owning the original cart may be of questionable legality, so I won't recommend any particular method of acquiring ROMs"
The last thing we need is this site shut down over legal issues... no need to point to or recommend a source of ROMs, you can find them on your own (and it is pretty easy).
lol ok, talking about emulators should be piracy also, because it's the same thing. even if you own the game for a different system and make it work on a emulator is against the EULA anyways.

An emulator is a program. It is not written with its main purpose to be piracy. However the writer cannot be held responsible for what users do with the app.

I would think Android and AT&T would disagree, given the fact that they both give it the OK by letting it be in the market...

Kinect? Worth it?

In a bit of a quandry as the Kinect's are on sale at Best Buy for $99 and I feel like Im burning a hole in my pocket. Anyone use this frequently? Worth it? I have my daughter every other weekend and she uses the Wii like crazy but I'm wondering about the adult applicability factor.
Played it a few times at a friends house and I like the bowling on it way better than the Wii. In my opinion it is worth it so long as you are getting a compatible game with it or you already have a game that works with it
For kids - probably great.. for adults? Depends on what kind of games you're into. If you're into the dance dance etc. games... probably awesome. If you're into FPS' and the like, probably a dud..
My kids like it but I have yet to play it. My wife did right after we got it and it damn near gave her a heart attack. When I helped them set it up it seemed like it was having difficulty tracking them. We got a new tv and I need to move the sensor up, hopefully that will help. Also, when our dogs happen to walk in front of them it screws up the tracking as well.
I've heard reports of people having to move the TV in their room because there wasn't enough space in front of the camera for it to work properly, and I've also heard that you need a tidy room as too much clutter can confuse it.
Video games are meant to played in a sitting position with a bag of Doritos (other ****ty tortilla based snacks are available) on your lap....
Shame on you people with your desire to move and stuff.......
There seem to be more promising games coming. The favorite at our house with Kinect is the Dance Central games. Rise of Nightmares looks pretty cool, and I never buy games like that.
I love it and i am 24
Just make sure you get kinect sport, kinect sports season 2 and fruit ninja
Those are the best games for it
I also like being able to talk to my xbox and browse hulu plus and netflix via voice and hand gestures and telling my xbox to shut down.
I think its worth it and is great to play with your friends.
keep checking sites like AMAZON....price drops all the time....
Anyone knows pc games that support kinect device by factory? I have read something about drivers that allow kinect to use it as input device or mouse for paint and general pointing actions but i don't know it about gaming use for example C.O.D. III
NickFee
I own one and... that's great! Btw more and more cool games are out
For me just singleplayer gamer is kinect useless but playing with friends is totaly best
