I want to flash this 2.3.3 OTA rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714184
Is this rom support App2Ext ?
What should I do if I want to use App2Ext with this rom ?
Try flashing this instead. It already has app2ext support built-in, you just need to create a ext3 partition on your sd card.
To your original questions: if you want to flash that ROM - yes, it supports A2SD, and you'll need to flash DarkTremor's A2SD right after the ROM to enable A2SD.

I was wondering if I would be able to get A2SD setup on an existing rom or would I have to partition my sd then do a fresh rom flash before A2SD would work.
Yes, you would gave to reflash. Also, POST IN THE Q&A SECTION.
You don't have to reflash your ROM. You just have to partition your SD card, then flash the Darktremor apps2sd.
Instructions and everything are here

Hi i'm new here and i have some question need you guys help.
1)I'm now on stock rom and kernel with ext3 file.Do i need to do anything if i want to load new rom or kernel with ext4 from cwm 5.0.2.0?
2)If my current rom or kernel is ext4 and i want to load back to ext3,what should i do?
Sorry for my bad english.
You don't need to do anything to switch to EXT4, ROMs convert on install. Take a backup of your stock setup, you can restore that to get back to EXT3 as you're using CWM v5.
Thanks you Rusty!
So the newest cwm will automatically convert it to ext4 right?!Except for ext3,i need to convert it using backtoext3 from Paul or restore back to stock.
No.
A ROMs updater-script will convert to EXT4 if it needs it. CWM v5 will convert back to EXT3 when restoring a backup of an EXT3 ROM.
Thanks again Rusty!
I get the picture now!
I'd like to flash MIUI or CM7. Right now i'm using Gueste. Should i go back to EXT3 or just wipe everything and install MIUI or CM7. I'm a bit confused, because i searced before posting and others say that MIUI/CM7 are EXT4, others that you must flash back to EXT3. What's true?
Just install CM7
Older releases was EXT3, but since their stable build CM7 are EXT4.
No need for format.
You might need a data wipe anyway, so do a backup before installing.
You need to wipe all system for installing those ROM. And to be sure use back to ext3, it's always better to do this as ROM that run ext4 make the conversion anyway.
Hello!
As always do a backup first - SMS, contacts, calendar via MyPhoneExplorer and Apps via Titanium backup.
You can to a full wipe from cwm and then install the latest CM7-Kang - and don't forget gapps...
...afterwards you can reinstall you data and you are good to go.
CM7 support both EXT3 and EXT4 – and usually does a EXT4-conversion on the way.
I don’t see any necessity to go back to EXT3 on the way…
flash miui rom (you will find a lot of roms in dev section) or latest cm7 kang. it's your decision, both rom's are stable.
but go back to EXT3 first. that's the safe way
Hello,
I want to know whether the original ROM for ACE support ext2, ext3, and ext4 filesystems. I have partitioned my sdcard in 3 partitions one is FAT32 and the others two are ext.
Thanks.
ext2, yes. its supported even on stock samsung rom with stock kernel.
ext3 and ext4 no, need custom kernel.

Thanks I will check it.
Just installed EXT2 for Link2SD on a Samsung Ace stockrom 2.3.5. This works.:good: First tried EXT3, didn't seem to work.
Stock rom plus stock kernel supports ext2 but stock rom with stock kernl doesnt support ext4 or 3
I would recommend you to flash nims kernel and use ext4 type and use ext4 tweak by mr slaid to improve performance
Give it a shot

.ext4 partions works fine in 2.3.5... tested by me
I think you failed the installation procedure
I am currently using CWM 5.0.2.6 as it is universally suggested the appropriate for Galaxy Cooper.
The problem is that this version can only format the sd card up to ext3, and not ext4.
I want to try the Ulimatum rom with all its goodies and I need ext4 format in partition for Swapall. My sd card is super fast class 10 u3.
I have read that in many cases 6.x.x.x versions end up in blue screens or fail to reboot.
Although I use minitool for partions, when installing a new rom at some point devs ask to format memory before installation, so even if it was originally in ext4 it reverts back to ext3 after the CWM format with the 5.0.2.6 version.
Which version I can safely use for ext4?

You can use the ext4 format with CWM without problems, CWM's version is NOT important, but it can't create this typ of partitions, so you need ypur PC to create an ext4 partition (Gparted, Minitool partiton magic...)
If you want to flash The Ultimatum Rom or another CM7 based ROM you must use a CWM 5.x based recovery.
Use CWM 6.x just for CM11
To use ext4 format >>> all versions are safe
To flash the Ultimatum ROM >>> CWM 5.x
