I just got the 2150 htc battery and back and i notice a pretty annoying squeak on the right side. anyone had this problem and/or have a solution?
Now since you mention it, I did notice part of it not closing all the way- but no actual squeak. I mean, it is snug on there but there's a little part near the middle on one side that just isn't flat against the phone.
I have a case over on top of it so it's not an issue for me, I guess that could be a solution but only if you want a case to go with your phone.

i just bought the diamond 2 today.. i must say, the out-of-the-box speeed is fantastic! but has anyone encountered the same problem as me : i feel that the back cover is a tad bit 'loose'. you can move it from left to right when u place 2 fingers at the sides of the back cover.
is it me or is it the phone?
Mine's tight, doesn't move at all.
ah crap, so i guess its just me? the movement is just a little though.. towards the end of the back cover.
No, i agree, my back cover it slightly loose, it moves slightly, but just enough to be noticeable...
hmm i wonder if it might be because the backcover is too light?
My cover is on quite tightly. No movement at all.. May be I am one of the lucky one this time. Try puting a small piece of paper to see if it stops the movement. If it does, then yours is loose alright. I had to do that for my xperia ...
will they do a replacement for a flimsy back cover? the movement is very slight though.
mine is tight. I expect back covers will be the first things that become available from the like of cnn.cn, mobilefunshop.co.uk, etc.
I noticed that the locking mechanism is at the bottom. Maybe a sharp of paper will make it tight ??
i had the same problem as here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxubUhlpJxw , but i used paper scotch tape for house painters and now it is perfect
Mine is tight as hell, too: I even have great difficulty removing it: the shiny finish makes it quite slippy and a lot of force has to be exerted to disengage the locking mechanism. I even installed a software reset, to much hassle to acces the little red button ;-)
Maybe the build tolerance is a little bit variable and you were unlucky? where was your D2 build? Taiwan, or China?
how do i check where was it build at?
it's on mine as well. on the lower left side :/
geez so i guess majority of the people are experiencing it? whats up with htc!!! other than that i love the phone
Damn... My back cover is loose too! When did you get your device? I was one of the first (got it on the 17th of April). Maybe the first devices were not build that good... I'm going to put paper inside.
The back cover is very bad for everyone!
I hope that will be available soon to buy an alternative cover!
It would be nice to have it in metal or black leather.
I have no problem now with it but open the phone often for the SD card and soft reset I expect widening!
Mine was made in Taiwan and one of first in the Czech republic

just got it like 3 days ago! im just worried that the problem might worsen over time?
I put a folded strip of paper between the battery and the backcover and it feels much sturdier now. Nevertheless the back cover is really ****ty, I swear I never seen such soft, thin and ugly piece of plastic before. Fortunately I like everything else on my D2.
My cover is completely firm, and my screen has no light leaks or gaps. I hope these are isolated issues being reported here. If your battery back is really nasty, then just swap it for another one, as it will reduce your enjoyment. Another advantage of this is that HTC monitors returns and will make changes to the manufacturing process based on issues. If there are no returns it will think everything is perfect!
In the UK we all get 14 days for returns.
I think the TD2 is the best non-keyboard phone at the moment, hopefully these are isolated incidents and will disappear over time!
I'm not sure what everyone is talking about and hope it's just a little movement you all are speaking of. Because if it is movemen like mine it is nothing really to complain about. The back to me feels solid and strong. The plastic is not flimsy. At the bottom the back moves a very little if you try to move it side to side. Mine moves less than, 1/4cm, a hair, an ants leg..... uhhh yeah. Pretty much nothing and you have to try to move it. Durring normal usage it is not noticable at all for me and doesn't move. The phone itself still feels solid despite having dust under the screen . I kinda wish it had a little bit more weight to it.
I noticed that when I pressed on it slighty there was a slight squeak noise that came from the casing. I had recently bought a replacement cover and it was fine and than it did the same thing. What is this? Is it normal for most incredible s devices because I have heard other ppl had the same problem. I dont care as much because I have a case for mine but what about you guys??? Any squeaking issues??? LOL

Yes, same here, mines pretty bad actually!
I've got a case on top and its a tight fit, so it doesn't squeak.
Bad design flaw IMO.

Arrgh, it brings out the OCD in me LOL. But I have a case so it isnt bad, and its only in one little corner and I have to press on it so I geuss its not that bad. Its really a shame because I love this phone and thats its only flaw.
The same case here too.
For me its at the corner. I guess its due to the pressure while we want to unlock the phone, we tend to press the back cover first before hittin the power button.
Ive got a red IS, dunno if i can get another replacable one or not...
P.S I aint using any case or anything, its as fresh as outta the box XD
I believe the squeak is caused by some empty space existing between the phone and the back cover. Stick a strip of duct tape on the inside part of the back cover where it squeaks. It should solve the squeaking problem.
Mine squeaks really badly around the volume buttons. putting a case on fixes it though.

Yep mine squeaks too, the corner near the camera.
Squeaky
No, mine has not had any squeaks. The USB port does rattle a bit. But not enough to get up in arms about. I find the fit and finish surprisingly good considering the chassis seems to be all plastic.

Isnt that not going to be good for the battery? Overheating it or something? I am kind of weary about putting things inside the phone
yeah it has been discussed tht the cover does squeek, either you have a case that is able to press on the phone good enough to prevent it from squeeking or you put fillers inside the phone to stop the squeeking

How do you think that would overheat the phone, exactly? It's not like phones have vents or fans that could be blocked by the tape.
Lol I don't know I'm just weary about stuff when it comesbto my phone maybe ill try that

Of the ones that squeak (including mine), how many people have removed the back cover? Mine didn't start to squeak until the third time in pulled the battery cover off. I have noticed that on one side there is a small gap along one side more so than the other.
Mine definitely squeaked as if the cover was loose. It's not much of an issue with a case though.
Yep. Mine squeaks.
Top right (Near the camera & power button) and bottom left (near the home button). Intrigues me that it's like a diagonal thing. oh well.
I lold.
Don't really care though. xD
Just send them an email with some proof, some pictures and maybe a short video which you can clearly hear the sqeezing.
I did that and they send me a new cover

I was able to fix this once by somehow properly placing the back cover back on but when the next time I removed it and placed it back, I again started to have the squeak so I used some plastic tape, placed it on the side of the back as well as the top, placed the back cover back and no more squeaking
I had squeaking on the right top and side.

Same here. Mine started squeaking after I removed the back cover for the third time as well. For me it's on the right side, smack in the middle of the device (where my middle finger rests when I hold it in my left hand )

I wish this was the only problem that I discovered with the phone. I love the phone but look at what I discovered.
http://oi56.tinypic.com/9u8d9y.jpg
YES! That is a pixel..dead or stuck? I have no idea..Im thinkin its DEAD!!!
FML!!!!! Arrgh now I have to buy a display replacement and open up my phone to replace it...because it bugs me. I dont want to go through warranty, I will have to unroot my phone and S-on. Arrgh
Anyone else with this?
Hi
I discovered today that my 18 month old Razr I is starting to have a bulging battery. I can see a slight bulge if I look closely on the back side.
I believe the phone was once lying flat on a table, now the Kevlar is touching the table.
Do you also have that?
The battery seems to be otherwise still ok.

pato
Change the battery if it's growing. Seriously it it's starts growing it can be twice fatter after few months.
Hi everyone.
I got my mint Droid 4 from ebay a couple of days ago, and I found out that the only thing wrong with it is that the lower corner where the speaker grill is on the battery cover won't stay down when it's slid into the phone. It's as if the plastic that holds onto the tab on the battery cover is broken.
not the battery cover "leg" itself, but something inside the phone seems to not get a good "grip" on the piece coming off the battery cover.
is this common, and no way to fix easily?
AHHH! nevermind, found out that it's actually the leg that is rising up off the battery cover. seems like it's about to fall off. time for some super glue to hold it down!
Often you have to look there you recently have made corrections
My phone suddenly had some sweet smelling liquid behind its case.
It has also been slightly bent, but this may have been because my otterbox phonecase started to warp when i removed the little lip at the charging port, because it was putting my charger at a wierd angle.
I'm worried that the sweet smelling fluid behind the case might be from the battery, because it was not near the camera hole of the case, but near the springs between the backplate and the frame of the phone
The phone still works fine and i have not noticed any worse battery life.
I've already been at the retailer who just told me to keep using the phone as normal and i have been, except i've removed the warped case.
So my question is, should worry about this?
You should kinda worry about this, Even tho i know nothing about this it might be something in your phone.
