Today my genuine HTC Advantage Docking Station CR B140 arrived. I bought it from a german dealer and it was a steal for only 22.99€ (+4.99€ S/H), compared to the MSRP of 99.99€ that Expansys demands ($99.99 in the U.S.)
What was strange, though, the station arrived in a simple bubble wrap, no other packaging, no manual, nothing else. OK, for 77% off I really don't care, maybe these are some surplus or end-of-line clearance parts. In any case, the station is brandnew, completely unused and working. So if you would like to steal one, too, have a go at:

Sorry, their website mentions only Germany, Austria and Switzerland as destinations. However, they accept Paypal, and maybe they will ship worldwide, if you ask kindly.

Yes guys sorry for not posting it. I have already mailed them and asked them if they can post the station to greece and their response was negative. very disapointing.
I'm planning to buy one for my advantage
I'm interested in the "2 x female usb port". Can it support USB flash drives? Coz I really need to find a way to connect USB flash drives to my phone. And another thing, does the dock have to be connected to the power outlet all the time? or is it recheargable? thanks
Hello ,
Is possible with the X7500 on the cradle to connect the audio line out ?
I see a lot of connections (AV , usb , VGA) but no audio line out ?
Because if you connect to a videoprojector via the cradle , how do you connect the audio output ?
Thanks ,
JF
@Jeff72fr:
The docking station offers the following connections:
- A/V interface: VGA port (15pin), video out port, S-video port (4 Pin), 3.5mm audio jack
- Charging & syncing interface: miniUSB port for power charging and synchronisation, 2 x USB standard A female ports (USB host), 2nd battery charging slot
- LED indicators: power, sync, 2nd batt charging
@santi_g:
I must admit, I haven't used any usb devices yet on my athena, I don't even know how to use them ;-) Simply plugging in some usb stick does not work for me, the stick's light stays off, and file explorer doesn't show it. I probably need some driver for it.
You probably overrate the function of a docking station, it's just a simple box offering easier access to the connectors, and a convenient place to charge the device. So not having the docking station plugged in is of no big use, and therefore there is nothing to recharge the docking station -- only the device's batteries (internal and spare).
I have used up to 16G Flash Drive using my ebay acquired docking station. Though it comes out only if I use resco file explorer. There was even a time when I used my flash drive with a usb mouse through an octopus usb port.

Thanks a lot for your your reply.
I use my X7500 at home to listen to internet radios. It easier to have the docking station connected to my Hifi system.I just have to plug in the X7500 on the craddle without always connect and disconnect the electricity plug and the audio line.
Unfortunately I'm french so they can't send it to me.
I have a friend who's working in switzerland and and will try with him.

I googled and found this: http://www.mytrendyphone.com/shop/htc-cr-b140-docking-14003p.html&togglevat=1&VariantIdSelected=0
They seem to ship everywhere and have reasonable pricing as well.
does anyone had a chance to buy this dock and figure out whether it is original, i.e identical as compared to what HTC offers or not
I have one like that
I have one and it is exactly the same as posted before.
It works really well But it is a little tricky to place the Athena in it. I'll get used to it.
reason I am asking is that is going to be my next buy ..... therefore knowing whether it is (looking and working like) oryginal is crucial as there are many different ameo docks with partial funcionality (as compared to the original one) available
the thing is I have been querying about dock from that german location / shop
I bought an original HTC docking station for my X7510 at expansys without any problem : it is 30€ right now !

Thank you for that link! I just ordered from them, unfortunately they don't ship to ALL countries, so I had it sent to relatives in the States who are visiting soon, but the price, including shipping, was less than GBP25. Definitely less than the $80 most places are asking.
And of course the usual disclaimers: I don't work for them etc.,.
its at http oled-display.net look under Galaxy Tab Accesories
There is also a Bluetooth Pen, G-Switch Impact case and other stuff.
I found about five websites that advertise these items? I emailed them about a month ago several times. No replies so far?
USB Standard port adapter With this kit your Galaxy Tab becomes a standard USB port. With this USB port you can synchronize your digital camera or other devices.
Anyone hear anything on any of these items? I will be calling them on Monday and will post here. Also will try to get more specific information on details of items and pictures if any?
Hello, I have recently started a project on trying to get my "officially unsupported" device to work with my head unit(hu) that supports rca video in. I need some opinions on what items to purchase to get maximum compatibility. I do have a very limited price range so i can't keep trying new adapters till I find one that works.
Project information:
Head Unit: Pioneer AVH-P330BT double DIN touch screen head unit
Phone: Telstra HTC Vivid(Velocity, Raider, whatever you want to call it. Pretty obvious and unneeded anyway)
Possible link scenarios and items needed:
Code:
[B]Setup 1 -[/B]
This setup comes with both an mhl connector plus an hdmi to rca cable in one purchase. I would connect the mhl adapter to the device as per normal, and the hdmi to rca to the mhl adapter and to the back of my head unit, then change the display on my head unit to display the rca input from my phone screen.
required items:
[B]Setup 2 -[/B]
same as above, but this time using an hdmi to rca adapter box, along with an mhl adapter, with the mhl adapter's hdmi cable plugged into the rca dapter, and rca cables running from the adapter to the hu. this is a bit more expensive, but the other way almost seems too cheap of a setup to be reliable.
required items:

I would love people's opinions on this project and if they have previously tried something like this and their results from doing so. Who knows, maybe someone else was wondering the same thing I have been and gets something from this thread.
Cheers guys - Tradie

After almost 10 months of usage my Chromecast hdmi extender that I happen to have used on all hdmi lateral ports of my household TVs started to malfunction. It is giving me blank screens, apparently the Chromecast weight after all this months finally took its toll.
I wonder if anyone here knows where I can get a replacement? I know that there are port savers sold online, but the one that came with Chromecast has a very specific lenght that I think will suit me well.
Any ideas/sugestions?
This one is a bit longer than you're looking for, but you may want to consider the 90-degree style if you can.
I know some Samsungs have recessed and fairly crowded ports, but it does help to reduce the torque on the connector. Torque and twisting especially along the "short" axis of the connector usually spells death, as it strains the connector's connection to the mainboard and eventually pops the "legs" of the connector (the part that connects to the mainboard) off.

Not the kind of extender the OP is looking for... if you're going to do a balun type extender you may as well just use your device's HDMI output.
like the title said, i was just wondering so are there any possibilities of a USB C wireless charging case or receiver strip for USB C
since it was never mention by anyone *from my search results*
Yeah, a wireless charging case could work. It would need a USB-C connector, no huge thing AFAIK.
However, I personally don't use a case on my phones, I prefer "nearly naked" (ie - a skin).
I'd like to see a good quality third-party receiver coil that I could install inside the back cover and that wouldn't interfere with the fingerprint scanner - but I expect that there just won't be enough room in there.
