Hello, I have just successfully used auto-nooter 3 on my nook color and everything is working GREAT!
But, I really want to overclock it.
How do I overclock a Nook Color that was rooted using autonooter 3?
Thanks for any help.
You should have the Market app now just download setcpu and use that. Not sure how much benefit you will get from the stock rom your using, i think it already is clocked to 800 mhz but im using it and it works fine.

So I can't use the 1GHz or 1.1GHz kernels?
I use dalingrins kernel to OC mine to 1.1. works fine minus the wifi cycling (dunno If fixed yet, but so minor don't worry)

Hi there, quick newbie question for the Telus Milestone running stock 2.1.
Is it possible to root, just for the purpose of overclocking, and keep the stock rom?
I know rooting gives you superuser access, but do you have to change the rom for it?
Also, is there an easy step by step thats not 200+ pages buried in a thread? Ive looked, and am having issues.
I just want an overclocked Milestone
Nope. You'll want 3 things though.
1) universal root app (lets you root and unroot with no problems)
2) Milestone overclock (Should google this apk, not in the market)
3) setCpu (this u can pay for in the market or find it on XDA -donate tho to support-)
These are all reversable if you need. I did it to mine, but just couldn't find the right profiles for my use so I undid all but root privileges. I like the other appspot that opens for me.
Best of luck.

Thanks a lot! That worked perfectly
By the way...the milestone overclock is on the market though....overclocking to 1.2Ghz is not stable, but 1Ghz is

Yep I found it in the market thanks. And actually I've found my Milestone runs more stable at 1.2 then 1.0ghz, been running it about a week now.

Mine Runs fine @ 1.2 GHz vsel 80.
I've never tried the custom vsel rating though.
I can't run on 1.2Ghz 80vsel though...its not stable on my phone....how your battery life?I really can't feel my battery drain faster LOL

My battery life only needs to last for my commute of 90 minutes during the week. I plug it in once I get to work. Are you running another rom? I'm still running the stock one, maybe that has something to do with it. Ill find out this weekend when I throw on one of the Froyo roms.
On days when I need my Milestone to last all day I put the cpu back to 550mhz, and turn off my apns and gps. I still can call and text and that's fine when my phone isn't in my hands
No,I'm running the stock 2.1update1 : ) LOL I didn't overclock for the pass 2 dayd now...I'm going to test the battery life on 550 cpu..and then I'm going to tested with overclock..what rom are you using?

When i first flashed the rom i got 1200 repeatedly.
Rebooted installed a few ups, updated some and now i just about hit 1100.
yeah i was getting 1250 when i first got it
after about 150 apps including fonts and live wallpapers
i get 1180-1160
Just a reminder that quadrant actually says very little about the performance of your device..
I'm getting 1400 to almost 1600. But I'm also using darky's rom so I don't know if you want to count that or not
1200 with no lagfix, 1500 with voodoo. phone is running sweet at the moment, much better than when it was scoring 2300 on jp7. Have been running it alternating lagfix on and off, cant notice any real difference

Running Darky's 5.2 rom.
1595 on Doc's v.4.0 with Voodoo lagfix oc1.2Ghz!

Whats the maximum ever anyone got ? I saw the dhd is getting 3000 how reliable is this?

Quadrant scores should only really be treated as a bit of fun, a mate of mine with the hd oc his and got 2932, but the phone was unstable and actually ran slower at that speed then it did stock. As I said earlier my phone scores a consistent 1200 without a lagfix and it is definitely running the best it ever has. I had it overclocked to 1.2 before with oclf and it was scoring 2300-2400, the phone seemed fast but not as smooth and stable as what it does now with jpu installed

I dont get whats going on, now when i try it im getting around 1200 again, seems like the IO score is fluctuating quite a bit!
As a comparison i get 1877
On JP5 using Z4Root and OCLF.

The new version of SetCPU seems to let us set CPU speeds for boot. Check it out in the market!

Downloading now. Yesterday, I rooted my friend's Fascinate. I got him the new version of SetCPU and the new OC'd StupidFast kernel. This explains how it kept the speeds at boot without the could not auto detect message.
I didnt realize it was out, still looks exactly the same to me
If you have one of the overclocked kernels do you need this app? I assumed both sped the processor up to the same speed?
I've got the latest 1.1ghz kernel on stock rooted but when im in the setcpu app it never shows it going above 1000. Is it just not going to hit 1.1 within the app or am i doing something wrong?

This is a known issue on stock and froyo but not CM7. I'm looking into it as soon as I get the chance this weekend.
I just installed dal's new kernel along with nook tweak app. Quadrant still shows my clock speed at 1200 when I know I've changed it to 1300. It also isn't going down to 250 like I have as well. SetCPU all sows the same. Rebooted too. Advice? I'm on rooted stock and yes, I used the right kernel.
EDIT: Emaiedl him directly through the market and he had it fixed within a few days. Permissions error. Thanks!
If your on cm7 don't use setcpu it will kill ur battery u overclock in cyanogen settings performance CPU or clock speed

With his new tweaks app, you can set as high as 1.6, although very little if anybody has gotten that to work.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.

In SetCpu and is set on boot checked?.
I've tried using setcpu but it only shows up to 1200. I have also tried killing the setcpu process and relying on the tweaks app like cm7 but it doesn't work. Custom stepping and set on boot are set through there too.
