please any one can help me the camera just stop and wouldn't work even from the bottom or from start menu i did hard reset and nothing some time its working but after i close it it just wont open again

I received my unit and found out that the camera once i operate it, the screen displays unclear pictures as if it is infrared colors/too bright images.
I made soft rest, hard rest, adjusted the settings, unfortunatly problem persisted.
I sent an email to HTC reporting this fault, but no reply until now.
It is really frustrating as i bought my unit from UK and i live in another country. so no service center nearby.
Have someone faced this problem? can it be solved?

Have you tried taking the back cover off your phone and taking a picture? This has been covered in previous posts but I find that my Diamond takes excellent pictures, especially outside, with the cover off. They are alot sharper and clearer.

solved....it's necessary to flash 1.93 original rom to make the camera working again... (2.03 doesnt fix the problem).
after, it's possible to flash any other rom (also 2.03) and the camera still working...

Hi Guys,
My apologies if this has been posted already, but I couldn’t seem to find anything on it.....I have had my Diamond for about 2 weeks and the camera hardly ever works. 90% of the time when i start it all i get is the Photo logo and then a blank screen. If i push the capture button, a few seconds later I get the error "Unable to capture photo. Unable to get frame data from camera device". I have done the latest HTC official update to ROM 1.93, I have soft reset and hard reset and no luck Sometimes if I do a soft reset it will work for a little bit and then just stop working again.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

you may need to install one of x-dev custom ROMs, or try hard reseting your diamond. if the problem still exist after Hard Reset, probably it is hardware trouble.
read read and read before you install Cooked roms from xda-developers. you need to do HardSPL before instaling any other ROMs

I have hard reset the device a few times, and no luck. I dont reallt want to install a cooked ROM, I dont think I can handle it to be honest. I will take it that it is a Hardware fault and I will be sending it back tmrw. Thanks again!
Hi Grim! I have the same problem. I've installed 1.93 official ROM and even SwiftBl 7.5, I've upgraded my Radio From .05 to .08 , but my camera is still like yours.
Have you find a solution? Did HTC service Center change your device?

This issue realy bugs me now. Every time I've change the OS it work for a bit then it dies. realy anoying. Anyones suggestion may be usefull.
If it is the hardware - is it the camera? Could it be just gone loose?
There´s few steps to take.
If camera works sometimes, I think, it´s not a camera problem on itself.
(IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO PARTS AND YOU KNOW WHAT U`RE DOING)
Try this:
Exchange flex and flash (use official RUU htc).
Or:
Put phone inbootloader, disconnect flex from board (while working and booloader on) and flash.
If everything else fails, I´m affraid the PCB has internal flash IC problems.
Dont have parts but will open it and check flex. If flash is gone how come mtty does not flag some segments as bad. Checking around the web looks like I am not the only one with this problem.

I've found out if you take the battery out for 10 secs and put it back the camera works again untill you run another app. It feels like as soon as you run something else with camera it is screwed!

This morning i tried my camera on my diamond, but when i launch the camera app, it gives me black screen. That's so weird. I reinstalled the rom, did hard reset, but get same result. So i want know if that is software issue or hardware issue. If it's a hardware issue, will the camera app launches or not ? Thank's !

Have you tried modifying the option "Encode photos in portait mode" in Advanced config? It causes problems.
If it isn't that, I guess it is a hardware fault. Restore original ROM and send it to repair.
I ain't advanced config...I searched in google after getting the error messae above, i found many people with this issue, some solved it by installing original rom or diff ones. I tried that, but same result, that's weird. Also i can't send it to repair because i ain't guarantee anymore :S

Have you tried switching between the rear and front camera?
I bought this phone from somebody, and the guarantee is dead at the moment. the camera worked fine for 2 weeks, now i don't know what happen.

I had the same problem. Hard resets and reflashing did not help, luckily I had warranty left. My impression of this phone so far (both my own and from forums) is VERY bad and this is the last time I buy from HTC.
Pff sound sucks, camera is ****ed up...i'll not buy from htc anymore too.

I have a problem where I launch the camera and only get a black screen but no view, I get the icons and they work, I just don't see anything else! I doesn't matter whether I use the front or back camera, the same thing happens. I have re-flashed the original generic rom and that's not cured it. If I flash a Touch flo rom I get the message 'failed to initialize camera' I assume this is a software issue as I can't see a hardware issue affecting both cameras?
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi I had the same issue with the X1: front and rear camera remained black. I used to do a weekly flash so I thought I brickflashed it. But I returned it to the shop and they sent it in to SE. 3 weeks later I picked it up from the shop and surprise surprise, SE REPLACED IT. I hope you still have guarantee on yours. Be sure to stockspl and reinstall your provider's rom, I did it by using the SE update utility. So it seems to be an irreparable (is that english?) hardware fault. SE I love you. Thread can be closed I guess if we do that here. I'll flash a 6.5 or 6.51 clean w/o touchflo now.

From last week i have problem with my lg, when i try go to camera showing Camera Error Cannot connect to camera. Camera start working when i bend phone (little) another side.. I tried factory reset didn't help, i bought new main camera and changed - did not help.
Anybody know what happened or how i can fix this problem?
