Hey all.
Finally took the plunge and rooted my cappy (UCKB1) about a month ago. Something wierd is starting to happen ever since I rooted. Other than root, my phone is bone stock.
Whenever I download an app from the market, the app does not show up in the app list until I reboot. This never used to happen before root and was showing the downloaded and installed app as soon as it completed the install in the app list.
I'm guessing it's something related to the sqlite database? Has anybody experienced this before? Actually, I do remember that I had the same problem when I was on stock UCJH7 after a while since rooting.
I tried searching in the forums but no luck so far. Tried site search with google and found something similar but not for the cappy.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Looks like no one has seen this issue before so I did some more playing and the only thing I could do to resolve this nuisance was to do factory reset which really sucks. If anybody has any ideas on how to fix this without a factory reset please let me know.

Ive been running cm6 on my n1 for a month or so now and yesterday something very odd happened.
My phone was being sluggish and it was stuck on gprs in an area i always get full 3g. So i rebooted and i noticed maps decied to uninstall it self. So i go to the market and install it again and it tells me its already installed and its gonna overwrite the previous data. Then i noticed swype was gone so i go to reinstall it and again it tells me its already there and i install anyway. I try to type something with swype now reinstalled and the keyboard pops up but when i type something it just slides back down. So i reboot again and more apps are missing. So i go to the market and it fc's. then almost everything i try to do fc's on me. I tell my friend and he jokes you got a virus. So since im gonna reflash anyway i download the antivirus free app and it tells me everything is infected or whatever. So whatever i just reflash cm6 and install my apps and the only app antivirus flags is android wifi tether which i got from code.google. Anyway i reflash and just dont install wifi tether and all has been well.
Does anyone know wtf just happened? I know everyone says theres no suck thing as a virus on android and i know that the antivirus app is also questionable but i have no idea what just happened. I havent installed or done anything different than i usually do. I would really like a logical explanation of what happened.
Your apps were just taking a while to load. I've seen it happen before. I've opened my app drawer, and watched my apps slowly appear, one by one, at 5 to 10 second intervals...
Might be time to wipe?

Hey guys
I seem to have this odd problem. A week or so ago my Official Twitter app had a update so I clicked update as i normally would. But a few hours later I noticed that it STILL said installing. I ended up uninstalling the app in my system setting and nothing changed. Now on the marketplace it always says installing twitter. It getting REALLY old now. Worst of all i cant get twitter back now because it thinks its installing. Any ideas??
Thanks,
-Cyg
It ends up with re-flashing the phone for me. :-D

I was having a problem installing my apps, a simple reboot seems to help cure the problem temporarily.
However, I'm looking for more of a long term solution, and if I find one, I'll be sure to let you in on it.
I have the same problem. I installed a couple of programs and after uninstalling them, the download section of my market app, shows the 2 apps installing and I have no option of cancelling them or some other way of getting rid of them. Its quite annoying and i dont know what to do.
Any help would be appreciated
Update: After a few days of this problem, I went to download a new app and it just got fixed by itself. Odd cuz Ive downloaded apps during this period and tried other things to fix it, but with no success. Thank god its fixed lol
Had the same issue with a couple of apps, usually this helps:
1. Force close market
2. Clear the market cache
3. Reboot your phone
4. Install the app
FIXED IT! Tried everything and nothing worked. But what did work was finding the app online and manually installing it from the SD card. POW!
I am having an issue with my phone shutting down on a full charge! I have searched the forum about this issue and it seems that it is an app causing it. I have un installed all apps but the phone still shuts down. I found the captivate keep alive app but had rather try to resolve the issue instead of patch it. Most of the posts Ive read were about rooted phones but mine is still stock. How do I back up my apps to my sd card and do a master reset to try to resolve the issue?

I don't really know of a way to do a app backup on a phone that isn't rooted/modded. Normally I use Titanium Backup, but you need root to use that, and you don't want to send your device back rooted
Hi there,
Noticed today when I went to show someone a picture on my phone that all my camera photos are not there anymore. Nobody but myself has had access to the phone and I certainly didn't delete them or transfer them anywhere. Anyone else had this or know why it might have happened??
It's bog stock sim free phone running 4.3.
Also had an issue the other day where I went to have a quick go on Angry Birds to find it was no longer installed. It's been OK since I reinstalled it but don't know how it could suddenly have been uninstalled for no reason.
Cheers

Could be a manufacturing defect. How old is the phone? If you just bought it then it probably is. But if its been like a few months maybe it's due to a software defect and you could try doing a wipe.
Good luck and hit me up with a thanks if I helped

I've had it since May.
Doing a wipe and reinstall isn't going to bring my pictures back or tell me what caused them to be deleted which is what I want to find out.
Other than that, the phone works great.

To the admins I apologize if this is in the wrong section if it is please move it accordingly.
Hello everyone, I have an issue, hopefully someone can hel me and it starts like this. I and everyone else have been waiting for months for a safe root method and a recovery system such as TWRP OR CWM just incase I fudge something up flashing custom roms so I can always go back to stock. I came across a safestrap article and decided it was something similar to what I was looking for. So I decided to root using the big K. I know not the best choice, you can boo me now.
After a successful root, I installed safestrap. Unfortunately safestrap kept crashing upon starting the app, I couldnt even get it to set up. thats fine, I was just going to unroot and keep on living life, but then I stumbled upon Xposed installer, that modified and tweaked like a custom rom but without all the risk according to a website. I said hey thats worth a try and I did. After the Xposed installer setup and a reboot, I wad looking for mods on the web and all of a sudden my apps and system files started crashing to the point that I could not use my phone. I immedeately uninstalled Xposed installer ss soon ad my phone stabalized and unrooted.
I thought everything was good, 4 hours later the apps and system files started crashing again, so I did a reboot and I noticed that custom with the lock came up on intial startup. though I was told I was unrooted by the K program and even double checked using a rootchecker app, which stated I had indeed an unrooted phone. I did another reboot and no custom or logo came out. At this point I just wanted a working phone and As much as I hated doing so I did a factory reset. This seemed to have fixed the problem, but 4 days later my phone randomly went into a bootloop. I couldnt get it to stop so I took out the battery and that did not fix it.It was strange becuase I thought it might have been unrelated since it wasnt doing this when I had the issue with Xposed installer.
After yet another factory reset my phone seems to be fine, its still too early to tell though since its only been about a day. I had the normal google playstore and gvoice app crashing...Sigh..the only thing different was that sometime yesterday after the second factory reset a notification popup of unfortunately a sytem file stopped working came up. I acknowledged it, but thankfully I havent gotten any problems. I forgot what the notification read. hopefully its not related to what happened the other day.I dont know if this is related to one another, but I did notice that before I rooted my android system had automatically upgraded. I looked for issues like this on the net and saw people where having random bootloops after system upgrades and that unchecking scanning for wifi fixed the problem. though I did this and it did not work, thats why I did the second factory reset.
Now Im asking for help if any further issues arise. I love my Note3 and at this point I just want a reliable working device. Im keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully that will be the end of it, but in case it started to act up again, what can I do? any information and help is greatly appreciated. thanks.
Never uninstall any Xposed app that changes system files without first reverting any changes you made with it. Some of them are permanent until they are turned off in the App. Then you can disable the module.
You may want to look into this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715
I cannot stress this enough.
READ READ READ.
Too many times have I seen someone read a line or 2 then rush right in ultimately turning their very nice phone into the most expensive paperweight one could own.
On that link I posted, read it until your eyes are bleeding if you truly need to start from scratch.
I am not joking here.

Thanks man. it makes sense. I will look into it. you mentioned read. I have read what I thought was plenty, but always ideas and opinions differ, sometimes knowing too much and causing what they say decision paralysis. Because I still read about the Xposed experiences and different people go about it in a different way. but what you mentioned about reverting back makes alot of sense.
