no because boost and virgin dont use the samn signal
The G1 radio is hard coded to run off of the signals that TMO uses, so it WILL work on other carriers, but you wont have 3G access.
Secondly, TMO fixed the SK loophole a long time ago. Your best bet would be to upgrade to the G1 prepaid plan and you'll have full functionality. IIRC, it's only 5 bucks more.
I am using the sidekick prepaid plan right now, and I can only browse the internet with opera mini right now and are you sure we can just get the g1 prepaid plan for an extra 5 dollars a month because i would do that in a heartbeat. I think in order to get the g1 data plan you need a voice plan too, correct me if I am wrong.

There is not a G1 prepaid plan, You need a regular or Flexpay account to correctly use a G1 and to add G1 services to any account.
so if i use a flexpay, do i need to add a voiceplan on it? if i do then I'm just gonig to continue using my sk plan
Verizon is killing me on my D2 so I was wondering if I flash my tmo gt7 with Hermes and purchased a tmo pay to use sim, would I be able to make calls and data from my tab?
Thanks
You cant use your Verizon on Tmo, ypu can however tether from the other device to your galaxy tab.

The pay as you go is for broadband (data) only. So with that sim card, 3g but no voice.

No I want to get away from Verizon, Just wondered if a tmo pay to go voice/sim and a flash of my tmo gt7 would make the tablet useful for both voice/data?
Thanks
Yes, you can do that. The voice pay as you go isn't too pricey, but the data part is really bad (expensive).
I tried SimpleMobile, and I was satisfied with the coverage. The unlimited voice and data was $70 pay as you go, and works everywhere t-mobile works.
You will have to do an extra step, installing the Rotohammer modem switch to have voice and data on a US t-mobile tab.
Sounds like what I am looking for. Will the SimplyMobile SIM roam like T-mobile does? We actually live in a " dead " T-mobile area. T-mobile has an agreement with the local GSM provider but not for Data on tablets. However, T-mobile voice/data phones works fine.
Thanks
SimpleMobile uses/rents t-mobile's bands/towers. So, same coverage area.
Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
Long story I'll make it short. My friend ask for my help on his Samsung galaxy s from t mobile original.
his wife had it and she got the s2 and sold the phone to a family member in Brazil. they couldn't get it to work with there network and sent it back to them. So he kept it for himself. Now when he starts the phone it say telsa (something like that) Instead of t mobile. he can only make and receive calls maybe text but he gets no 3g internet at all. I looked in the apn and a t mobile apn is there.
Can anyone help. He knows nothing about how to do this. I have a motorola atrix so I have an idea. If anyone can tell me how to get this back to t mobile it would be great.
Thanks in advance

Is the t-mobile apn selected? Check if the settings are correct for your carrier.

apn was selected. checked the setting in the apn and matched it to couple i saw online. But I saw one difference. MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0 is not on the apn thats on the phone. I tried to make a new apn but MMS Protocol is not there. Also I just found out that even though it says galaxy s on the back of the phone he told me its the 3g version which is the vibrate from t-mobile. So I might have posted this in the wrong section.
could they have put a different baseband like one for telsa maybe thats why it doesn't work for t-mobile
Hi guys, excuse me for my bad English
I have HTC IS from UK and now I'm in US and already get a sim-card from AT&T
Unfortunately, the seller told me the data plan will not work in my phone because it's not American device or not from AT&T :/
I don't know if I can input the at&t apn settings manually to pick up data and mms?
I hope anyone can help me on this one

Yes you can manually input the AT&T APN settings on the IncS. Since you have a European IncS, you don't have the HSPA bands to get 3G, but the settings will connect using EDGE. Just search this forum for the AT&T APN settings.
I already try to put it manually but it doesn't work :/
I planning to buy Galaxy S II Skyrocket from ebay (cheaper that the store). Also, the phone is brand new from AT&T (the logo in the phone)
When I asked the seller about will the data work or not, he said it will not work!
It must be in a contract and also it's 4G...! :/
What does he mean by that?!
The skyrocket is a LTE phone I think so it uses a different similar card.

Im pretty sure the Blackberry data plan is independent of every other data plan. I believe the blackberry service itself is provided by RIM in conjunction with your ISP (your ISP provides the pipes to the Blackberry servers, thats why sites often think you are in canada)
This was at least true when i was using a BB in Australia, and i cant imagine its different anywhere else.
So when she got her BB, she probably got put on a BB data plan, and you need to get T-mobile know you need a normal Data plan.
I have never been on a BB plan, it's a regular plan that used to work.
I woke up one day to no data, contacted T-Mobile and turns out they put Android phones on different data plan. They did the switch at no charge. I suggest contacting them to update the plan info. (not that I think it should make a difference but they seem to think it does).
HTH,
marka
Have you considered trying to contact T-mobile?
