Hey guys,
this is going to sound horrible. Earlier on today, I unlocked my hd7 using chevron. Afterwards I was trying to enable tethering, but as I could not get it to work, I got fed up and reseted the device. Unfortunatelly, I did not change the mode from HTC modem back to Zune. Now, the app that allows the tethering is gone and the phone wont connect to zune anymore. Is there any way to resolve that??
Thanks a lot.

Hey guys, sorry to bother you, but i seriously need some help here. i have a droid incredible (love this phone to death!), but i use it as a primary phone, which means flashing roms and playing with my phone interrupts my "text my special friend" time, so i decided to buy a used g1 from ebay! great idea hu? ...not really!
</bg info>
well, i received my g1 today, and i was so excited. i checked and made sure everything was fine, so i turned it on, when i saw that there was no sim :/. luckily, i had an extra sim that my dad used when he had an old nextel phone, so i decided why not try and popping it in... but that didnt work because the phone was not unlocked >:/, so i pressed the dismiss button, then the real problem came in... the phone was completely wiped! so that meant i had to "touch the android to begin", well i did and i thought i was fine until the gmail screen came up and i have no way to sign on to gmail! i cannot access my home screen on the phone! i tried calling tmobile and htc for an unlock code to see if that helped, but no, nothing. i dont know what to do, if there is anything you guys can help me with, please reply! i really want to use this phone! thanks for reading this, and sorry for wasting your time! ...oh, and please, no flaming!

It doesn't give me an option to connect to wifi. Ive tried hitting menu, then wireless settings, but it does not say anything about wifi :/
is there any way i can get my phone rooted without having to access the homescreen? any update.zips that help me bypass the "touch the android" screen?
bump?

Your going to want to downgrade the phone back to 1.0 if it isn't already, and then follow this guide to connect to the Google servers via WiFi.
edit: I'm a new user, and not allowed to post links. So go to Google and type "G1 login to Google via wifi", it will be the first link you'll see. Make sure to first downgrade to 1.0, or else it won't work.

How do I downgrade to 1.0?! Lol, I'm not really sure how to find out if I am on 1.0 or not :/
It's basically downgrading back to RC29 (US G1) or RC7 (UK G1). Just search and download the DREAMIMG.nbh file and put it on the root of your SD card. Then go to bootloader mode (camera+power), and flash it. Restart phone and you'll be on Android 1.0.
Here is the link if you have a US G1: http://www.multiupload.com/9593XFAEYL
PM me if you need anymore help or if you're stuck.
i want to know, can i use internet on hd7 using date cable? if yes then how?
I'll be grateful for the reply...Thanks
Currently, tethering is not enabled in hd7. We dont have any way to connect our laptop or pc to internet using hd7 officially.
There is a hack posted in this forum. But for this you need to developer unlock the phone using chevron and then install the app to enable tethering. The main problem is with unlocking the device, it only work with pre NODO updated windows version.
i haven't update to NODO yet, i just bought it yesterday. I installed the first update then it asked me some update called 7.0.7 but i dndm't installed it because i pressed shutdown button on my pc before seeing this update..
Well then just it a try with chevron. I havent developer unlocked my phone with chevron, since i read that there are some problems while updating the phone with future updates.
I use 3g internet on my laptop. For this i bought a 3g usb stick and i replace the sim card when ever i want to use it on my laptop.
Im too eagerly waiting for microsofts mango update. Which i guess they will enable tethering.
No tethering is a tmo limitation. Mango will not bring this, as other wp7's already have it.

I hope this helps any of you trying to get the copy/paste and other updates on your T-Mobile HD7. I have tried the timing trick to get the updates but never could get it to work and once I thought I did but my phone became locked again plus I started getting microsoft messages telling me to uninstall apps. Here is what I did.
1. I flashed my phone with this ROM RUU_Schubert_TMOUS_1.20.531.01_Radio_5.51.09.11a_22.31.50.09_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE
2. I unlocked phone with Chevron then did the prevent relock.xap
3. Pulled my sim card out
4. Used flight mode
5. connected to Zune and crossed my fingers
That was it I now have version 7392 and am happy as can be. If this doesnt work for some maybe I was just lucky but figured I would share my experience to others.

It works but you don't have to put it flight mode, or at least I didn't have to. Mine is all up to date and still unlocked. Just not using that phone right now.

yeah you are probably right about the flight mode. I was just paranoid about having to re-flash my phone and redoing everything again.

It's a pain to have to set everything up again if you already had it set up but it's worth it if you want it to remain unlocked after the NO Do update and the security update.
so i installed my 32 gig card the other night and all has been good until tonight when i tried exactly what i had posted to get the updates to work and of course it didnt work. maybe I need to use a different Prevent Relock xap. if anyone knows a better one to use please message me so i can do the updates. until then i guess i will just have to live without copy/paste : ( or maybe the flight mode was the key. i didnt use it this time. i will try that and get back to yall
UPDATE- so just got it to work. this time I did use flight mode but I also used a different xap file to prevent relock so i would say the xap file would be the reason it worked but could also be flight mode. im tired and not going to try it again so we may never know but use unlockit.xap and all will be well.
Hi guys,
After many hours and days of searching google for a solution to this I'm still stumped.
I have a Galaxy S i9000 running Gingerbread 2.3.3 (had same problem with previous versions also) and I am trying to connect it to my Nokia 616 car kit in "hands free" mode, however, it keeps automatically connecting via "remote sim mode". I can confirm there is no way to disable rSAP (remote sim mode) through the nokia 616, nokia staff were not very helpful either.
There was an option in my old Samsung Jet (i think it was running touchwiz) bluetooth settings which allowed me to switch remote sim mode on and off. The only setting that exists on my SGS is after I connect to the nokia 616 i get the "Deactivate Remote Sim Mode?" option from the drop down bar... However, when I do so, the connection to the car kit is lost and upon reconnect it automatically connects using "Remote Sim Mode", regardless of how many times i try an "deactivate" it...
The only posts I could find about deactivating remote sim mode tell me to hit "Yes" to "Deactivate Remote Sim Mode", then to switch bluetooth off and then on. This does not solve my issue. Problem persists.
The only thing I can think of now is somehow finding perhaps a command line instruction that I can run from terminal to disable remote sim mode or even change a config file somewhere to deactivate it.
Does anybody have any idea how this can be done or maybe just give me a lead on where I can search next, I've hit a dead end with this now and im sure it can be done, somehow.
Thanks heaps for your help.
I'm sorry I cannot help you with this problem, but at least you're not the only one: I have exactly the same problem, but then with a Nokia 616 and a Galaxy S2.
I want it to connect with the normal HFP, so I do not loose the internet connectivity on my phone...
SOLVED Finally!
So after a while of searching then giving up, then contemplating ripping out my nokia 616 car kit and setting it on fire, I decided to revisit this issue and here is how I managed to disable/remove/deactivate remote sim mode or rsap... please note that I havnt really tested to see if this affects any other bluetooth functionality (i dont think it does though) so do at your own risk...
I ended up flashing my galaxy s with Darkys rom 10.2 extreme edition which gave me some nifty options of removing some stock bluetooth apps... I noticed there were a number of bluetooth related apps there, Bluetooth.apk , BluetoothOpp.apk, BluetoothPbap.apk, BluetoothTestMode.apk and the devil himself BrcmBluetoothServices.apk... at first i uninstalled them all except Bluetooth.apk, my phone starting throwing some bluetooth error which was expected, these errors disappeared after I rebooted the phone... I noticed that the 616 no longer connected using rSap (victory!), however, I was almost certain that not all of the apps i removed above would be causing the issue, and im sure that if anything having them removed would cause issues elsewhere so the process of elimination began... I reinstalled them all again, rebooted my phone, sure enough remote sim mode was back, then one by one i uninstalled, rebooted, tested, etc etc untill i came to the conclusion that the app responsible to rSap was in fact BrcmBluetoothServices.apk, after uninstalling it and rebooting Hands Free mode works a treat, I still get a "download error" when i try to download my contacts to the 616 but Im not to fussed about it, at least i can still use all the functionality of my phone in my car now, internet etc etc... as mentioned earlier I dont know if this will have any effect on the other uses for bluetooth so do be careful, not a huge issue because it can be easily reinstalled if nessecary using DarkysRom Tool...
Now I am sure this can be done on a stock firmware, you would most definitely need to root the phone and then find some sort of system app manager to hunt down BrcmBluetoothServices.apk and remove it...
Thats it! If anybody can work out how to successfully download contacts to the nokia 616 please post it here or pm me.
Been a while since I used this forum and god has it grown!
Prob been answered and I have searched so excuse me if I've missed it, but have we managed to get the HD7 with Mango setup as a wireless access point yet? i'd like to teather my wifi only pad to it.
I assume that I would need to also sideload any hack to enable it, is there a sideload methed availible for Mango?
Cheers guys
