So how do my fellow HD7 owners feel about this:
http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/devices/htc-hd7s.jsp
No difference but the S-LCD screen which is quite a big upgrade in the screen department. Other than better viewing angles, what are the advantages of it?

Hmmm... I wonder if we will be able to purchase the S-LCD screen to replace the normal LCD if we want to?
Does anyone think this would work?
Glad to see this coming to AT&T but I always love to have more choice. I wonder if this phone will be HSPA+ 14.4 enabled? That would give it a nice speed bump over the current crop of phones offered. I currently use a Samsung Focus and really love it. I might pass this to the wife and snatch up an HD7S if the price is decent.
i too have the focus and glad att is picking up the hd7 with the slcd. tempted to pick one up when released
I am angry...
I don't know what i should do. Sell my HD7 on Ebay and then wait for the S version?
I don't think the S version is going to T-Mobile. It'll probably use AT&T 3G bands which doesn't include 1700. Same reason I can't get a Dell Venue Pro. I don't want to be stuck with EDGE. Hopefully, we'll see some more phones/info from the CTIA this weekend.
was thinking about getting the Bell version or whatever one worked with at&t but now I can just wait. Wonder what the off contract price will be.

I have a question. Does HD7 Hardware support 4G or HSPA+ from T-Mobile? Or it is just a problem that Windows Phone 7 doesn't support it yet?
BTW, i have read several articles at Bing and found out, HD7 + S-LCD Screen = HD7S, that all. and the S-LCD gives us a better angle of viewing. The S-LCD is still far away from the Super AMOLED Screen. If HTC put the Super AMOLED in HD7, i will sell my current HD7 right away.
I will not take a S-LCD for a better viewing angle and have a more-expensive plan from AT&T.
Sorry for my bad English

It's probably never gonna happen. First of all currently AMOLED or Super AMOLED is in constant short supply. Even Samsung itself has to limit certain phones sold to certain countires use S-LCD instead of SAMOLED.
Second of all, current Super AMOLED is 4" and the future Super AMOLED 2 is 4.5". There is no 4.3" variant. So it won't fit current HD7 size unless HTC redesigns the whole thing.
This device also comes with the NoDo update which HD7 on T-Mobile are still waiting to receive..

I played around with it today at CTIA and its more than just the viewing angles. The colors are very vibrant compared to the HD7. Its brighter as well. I will pick up an Samsung S II and the HD7S for AT&T networks.
Please excuse my ignorance with WP7 lately. I returned the HD7 when they first came out due to bad reception in my area. But I was wondering how GV voice now ? Is there anything that works like Google Voice? Its a very important thing i have Google voice on my phones.
Thanks

Never heared about this before. Can they just make 4.3 one ?
That would be perfect.
@mr8820: Not really sure, almost all websites comfirm the HD7S has the same hardware as the HD7, except the S-LCD Screen. the HD7 of T-Mobile even doesn't support their HSPA+ , only HSPA, no 4G love.
I will keep this baby for at least 1 Year, until i find something more interesting. I am not a really big fan of Android so i have no plan of buying Desire HD or EVO 4G, Thunderbolt right now.
Here's a video of it.
Honestly doesn't look that much better, still some colour distortion at extreme angles.

Hey guys quick quetion here, i got an offer to sell my milestone for 400$ or Trade it for a blackberry 9700 + blackberry 9000, should i sell it? and with the 400$ i can buy a Galaxy S or some other device? whats your input?
I would sell the Milestone and get the Milestone 2. Try using the Galaxy S for awhile (not just a store demo), and if you can stand its pentile matrix arrangement, then go for it. It's very fast and has an extremely accurate and responsive touchscreen. However, its display isn't for everyone. The real test is how your eyes handle reading small/medium sized text on it at length.
With the Milestone 2, you wouldn't have any of these issues, though I can't imagine that you could get one for anywhere near $400 when it is released.
One other phone to consider is the Desire (the S-LCD version).
whats the S-LCD?? i think ill try the bell Vibrant looks cool with the front facing camera
Older Desires used AMOLED, a terrible version.
Since you're in Canada, then the Telus version uses Sony's S-LCD, a display comparable to the iP4 (lower res, of course) and the Milestone.
I suggest that you buy the Bell Vibrant from Best Buy or Futureshop, so that you have the option to return it if you find small text unbearable, particularly since you're coming from a great LCD with very high DPI and sharp text.
Sell it and wait for the Motorola Milestone Pro

lol got the The Galaxy S, almost bricked it and by luck restored it back to normal, very happy with it though, no lag nicer screen, will miss they keyboard though : D but swype is reallyyy nice
Bit late but I wouldn't have bought a SGS. Samsung have shown such disregard for the users with such appalling support and buggy software. I'll never buy a Samsung product again.
What I want to ask about here is the possibility of a 'Milestone Pro'. Motorola have refused to confirm its existence and given that we didn't see a GSM version of the Droid X I'm wondering if we'll definitely see a GSM Droid Pro.
(I know it's CDMA/GSM but with Verizon controlling things it'll be relatively hard to get one only for unlocked GSM use and I _think_ that using GSM the phone will always think it is roaming)
I guy I know wants to trade me his unlocked HD2 for my Captivate. Now I am on AT&T so I will only get Edge speeds if I trade for the HD2. I think I might be okay with this as I use WiFi more than 3G anyways. HD2 has the bigger screen, and is very very versatile when it comes to loading different OSes on them. With the HD2 I could have WP7 and Android at the same time. Captivate has the smaller, but better screen, has 3G, but pretty locked down when it comes to the OS. What do you guys think?

Wow, no. The hd2 is very old tech. And just because it can run those other os doesn't mean it runs it well. It probably runs it very poorly.

I just wish the resolution was a bit higher, but i'm not going to complain. Really weird that it will be shipping with Android 2.2 (in Q2 of this year???) Also no mention of it being a 4G phone. And the biggest bummer, it doesn't say anything about it coming stateside
How about you guys, thoughts on the Incredible S?
Ah, you got to it before me. Anyway, the rotating capacitive buttons mean a rotating Rosie, so maybe we can finally see a Sense 2.5 build for the Incredible that's almost native, right? That being said, the picture clearly shows that there isn't an optical trackpad anymore, but I don't think anyone will really miss it.
To be honest its sad to see HTC's lineup. I honestly don't care about dual core, but I don't think they made any of their new phones dual core. Most of them were just barely updated from what they were the previous year. I really like HTC phones, but I think they need to step up their game to keep up with Moto, LG, Samsung, and any others. Their tablet doesn't even have honeycomb.

The recent announcements are hardly their full line up, but exactly what you said, updates of last year, as well as a few low to mid end "gimmick" devices (Facebook button, anyone?). Those are all intended to be global phones. Don't worry, I think we can still expect flagship phones like the Thunderbolt, Inspire 4G, and the much more recently rumored Revolver.(The latter two may be AT&T, don't remember). At least, I hope we can.
We can't expect any of these phones state side anytime soon. It's usually 6-12months before we see any phones that are "NEW".
That has slowly been changing though with carriers state side getting their own designed phones to compete with each other. I'm curious to see if T-mobile will get anything SUPER AWESOME like Sprint and Verizon have been getting. T-Mobiles line of MyTouch phones don't appeal to me design wise and Sense is the only way to go.
The Incredible S specs have Europe/Asia - HSPA: 900/AWS/2100 MHz and that should mean the with AWS it will work with Tmobiles 3G stateside. Looks like I'll be buying unlocked again if that's true. The Incredible S and the Flyer are the only 2 devices that list AWS in the Bands. So I hope it's true.

I say that because that is usually the case. The US always gets phones later then the rest of the world. This is changing somewhat. It used to be a year+ before we saw phones. Our phone tech was always behind that of the world and still is. Look at the HD2. It came out in August/Sept of 09 around the world and when a US carrier got it it was like March/April of 2010. At least the gap is closing and the US now has some phones that the world doesn't but we still miss out on most products and still have to wait for others to reach our shores. Unless you but unlocked of course.
Some are saying that the specs are disapointing for the Incredible S how ever once you use it and compare against the Desire you should be impressed, I am and have both; the Inc S is far superior to the Desire IMHO.
Hi Guys,
I have a question about incredible s internal space. before i had desire hd and its shows 1.07 GB without installing any apps. and it was 1.5GB. now i bought incredible s it also shows 1.06GB internal space without installing any personal apps. and its is 1.1GB by htc. so what is the difference whether its stock rom is small one or it has same 1.5 GB like desire hd.
Mine arrived ... But I'm still at work ... aaaaah ...

how is the screen on the incredible s compared to the desire and the desire hd. i have a desire amoled but i purchased a hd and was not impressed with the colours ,it looked washed out.
if it matches the slcd of the 1st desire after they changed from amoled i would be happy to take the plunge.
Pros & Cons Of Incredible S
Why isn't there any thread concerning this is definitely one great phone to get ones hands on
So I thought why not start discussion about Incredible S as one great pro I believe it being no more a Verizon exclusive maybe it later becomes their flagship product who knows only time can tell
Ill list mine, assuming it is going to have TMo 3G.
Pros:
- 4" display
- It looks great
- Decent CPU and GPU
- 768M ram
- the fancy rotating button display
- basically an adult looking mt4g, which is good since that is a great phone technically
Cons:
- No qHD,still 800x480
- not 4.3" (i still dont know if I care, might be easier to one-hand a 4", no that's not what she said..)
- No TMo 4G? Cant confirm, but it appears to be the myTouch 4G in a classier package so the chipset should support it
- the fancy rotating button display if it uses battery of significance
- not dual core (though this may not matter too much right away)
I may get this depending on when and if they announce the pyramid dates, just so i can get a new gadget fix for a while...
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk
I'm considering this phone so I'll add a few to that list:
Pros:
Notification LED (yeah, this one really matters to me)
1.3 MP Front camera (not that I actually use them)
EDGE at up to 560 kbps download speed (usually phones have less than half that)
Cons:
Will probably have poor battery life (See complaints about HTC's myTouch 4G)
Only 1.1 GB Storage (I assume that is the free space)
S-LCD Screen (rather than Super AMOLED Plus)
No HDMI Out (or TV-Out of any kind that I can see)
No Gyroscope

From the HTC website:
HSPA/WCDMA:
* Europe/Asia: 900/AWS/2100 MHz
3G:
* Up to 14.4 Mbps download speed
* Up to 5.76 Mbps upload speed
This means that it should support 3G on T-Mobile USA at speeds that American networks claim to be 4G. I believe that this is the same as the myTouch 4G.

Could you be willing enough to provide a link to where you read about this 16gb Incredible 2 and also that only this much change happen when launched at Verizon

For me the bigger screen is better too BUT the problem with the DHD is that it comes with a 1230 mAh battery that fits inside the body so a significantly bigger battery can't be used.
Also the battery cover is so flimsy and useless that I wouldn't want to have to take it off and put it on again... ever. It really is some poor design.
If it weren't for the battery issue I would have bought the DHD last year. Now I'm looking at the Incredible S.
So after FINALLY getting my order for a N4 in, I check facebook and see that HTC announced the droid DNA... that is also packing a quadcore, and a 1080p display....
If you don't need tons of development I would get the Droid DNA.
If there was an intl' version of it, I was getting it because: intl' version will get tons of development, I love the bigger screen (5" is perfect for me!) and it's high quality (HTC's screens from the last year are great + 1080P res!!) and I love it's design
But as there is no intl' version, I'm getting the Nexus 4.
At least 600 of contract, Verizon, cdma. No regrets on the N4.

Thats stupid as hell! I'm T-Mobile. Glad I got the N4 =]
Defiantly no buyers remorse here about it.
The thing about HTC that will keep me from them is that they always, and I mean ALWAYS, skimp on the battery and put in the smallest one possible, even if it means the battery life sucks.
No Micro SD and only 16gb...

I was having similar thoughts, but for me what it came down to was dev support, updates, and GSM support vs. a slightly larger, better screen.
On a side note, I'm curious to see how the battery holds up. It's pretty small (2020 IIRC), and a lot of people have been HIGHLY skeptical of its ability to keep the phone powered, especially with LTE and a 1080p 5" screen.
