remove the HTC lockscreen - Thunderbolt Themes and Apps

this info can be found in a few places, but i figured id post here for ease.
open terminal and type:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 /system
mv /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk /system/app/HtcLockscreen.old
exit
Done, reboot. it works. reverse the *.old to *.apk for reverse.

Now where are the custom screen locks? Has anyone doing this, creating the .apk and putting it on a different phone? Like using my droid screen lock on my captivate or TB. I think Ill try this tomorrow and post back here if it works. Of course naming convention will differ*

now if i can just find what controls the damn recent apps in the notification, i will be set for a while

How about just changing the padding in whatever xml in the framework, that controls the space for the recent apps. Not removing it per say, but at least hiding it.
Similar to what we had done on the fascinate, with the power strip, hiding the text by lowering the padding.

Nice. I just went to system->apps->htclockscreen and renamed apk to bak using rootexplorer.

Any pie control app work with the n6?

I don't like the factory software buttons for back, home, recent app list.
I miss having the full screen and being able to swipe in with pie control. Anyone have this implemented yet?
Does anyone know the build.prop tweak for nexus 6 to remove the stock nav buttons?
If you're rooted you can disable the nav bar with a build. Prop tweak, then use LMT launcher (not launcher replacement) for pie
I use PIE Control on Play. Works great, but requires root. It also asks for a bunch of permissions as you can control the entire device with it

@skripta, I see the problem. I'm trying to use it from the bottom and not the sides. If I try the sides, it works fine... Odd
Perhaps cause I haven't deactivated the stock softbutton controls is why the bottom doesn't work?

Negative, copy paste. That flag tells Android that you have hardware keys, and therefore disable the Navbar.

Stuck a bit, you can still access settings via status bar.
You can always adb and change the build.prop by computer. SlimROM already has a toggle cooked in Settings to enable/disable navbar or change the size.

Remove entire lockscreen

I want to use the fire (ford) as a photoframe.
Even after rooting and removing the ads it requires a swipe (or password) to unlock the screen.
Is there any way to disable the lockscreen entirely so that the device can boot up into my dayframe app directly and show pictures?
I already tried the nova launcher and several apps (e.g. "no lock") without success.
Any luck removing the lock screen.

Custom ROM.
I know this is an older post but I found a way to achieve this 90% of the way. I have tested a lot of methods; apps, tasker tasks, adb input swipes and keyevents, sqlite mods but so far only this nets a consistent and reliable result. I use these devices as Home Automation panels so I gotta get this thing out of my life so I'll continue to look but like it was mentioned before its probably gonna require customizing Android (likely the manifest). If I figure out something more or better I'll be sure to post.
Install Xposed and the Lockscreen Disabler module (http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.lr.keyguarddisabler)
You're going to have to unlock the screen after each boot but that is the only time so if your devices do not require multiple reboots like mine do then you will be okay.
EDIT: Apologies! I did this on my Fire HD, not Fire! (Too many tablets in this household.) It doesn't work on the Fire, but I'm gonna leave it in case it gives someone else some clues.
I disabled my lockscreen with sqlite3. Do not mistake me for someone who knows sqlite. I only figured this out by carefully testing commands I found online. From what I've read, you could mess things up pretty badly with sqlite, so there's your warning.
sqlite3 is in my /system/xbin. I don't know if it came stock or if busybox installed it.
I tested disabling/enabling a couple times. Been running with no lockscreen through multiple reboots for 2 days. Hope this works for others.
Code:
adb shell
su
cd /data/system
sqlite3 locksettings.db
UPDATE locksettings SET value = '1' WHERE name = 'lockscreen.disabled';
.quit
Exit out of su and reboot
To get the lockscreen back, change the '1' to '0'
.
Anyone know if there is a way to stop Fire OS 5.4.0.1 or 5.6 from going to Lock Screen? I want my HD 10 and HD 8 tablets to stay wake 100% of the time - using them for wall mounted home control.

Not possible on unrooted FireOS short or pegging the CPU or simulating touchscreen activity.

Unfortunately for OS 6.xxx, "sqlite3" does not exist in /system/xbin.
Any idea how to remove lock screen for Fire7 (2019) , which is on OS 6.x.x.x.?
Edit : I found a solution for Fire7 (2019):
To Remove LockScreen entirely:
(1). Install SQLite Datebase Editor by Supertommino
(2). Launch SQLite Editor → File explorer → data → system → locksettings.db → locksettings
(3). Edit the value of “lockscreen.disabled“ to “1”
(4). Reboot
https://www.xda-developers.com/sqlite-database-editor-free-android-app/
Fire 7 2019 you can also do:
After rooting install Actitivty Manager from the play store, run com.android.settings$ScreenLockSuggestionActivity under the settings app (which takes you to the default lock screen options) and then selecting "none"

Notification pull down lag fix!!!

This is very simple! Turning on certain, if not all, apps that require Accessibility causes notification draw lag.
I thought it was installing too many apps but I was wrong. Granting certain apps Accessibility causes lag.
Disabling the app or apps in Accessibility should make your notification area move smooth again.
For example sake, take a look at the pic below. If I had "Chrooma Keyboard Picker Service" turned on I would be getting the lag. But since I turned it off I'm lag free.
Hope this helps!
I had to uninstall lux dash auto brightness for this. Pretty sure it had accessibility services enabled too. Anyone else notice any problem apps?

But I wanna find out about changing the font
I just found out something while playing with fonts. U can hav 2 diff fonts in ur system ui...
In oneplus 3t...
One type of group of font is system wide for keyboard, settings (except the main group headings in settings) and in every other places
The other group of font is used in status bar, in settings in the main headings and in main headings in apps...
To do this u need to change two group of font files in t directory system/fonts.
The first font group i mentioned is droid sans.ttf and droid sans bold.ttf
The second font group is roboto regular, roboto medium, and roboto bold ttf.
(Replace all the fonts in t first and second grup, just replacing 1 font will not do t trick.)
For replacing t fonts just use any of ur favourite font file in ttf format (dont use otf format fonts) rename it exactly as the font to be replaced and most importantly after replacing t font give permission to the file as rw- r-- r-- and reboot.
By using fonster and other font changing apps u can only have one font system wide. But using this method u get 2 diff fonts in t system at the same time. Just play around

Nav Bar Disable!

I know some people are looking for this. I have been searching through a lot of posts and found some Apk's that didn't work or worked through the Samsung theme blaba. I found one that works without too much trouble, install and reboot! Sometimes it will ask to be Uninstalled when you delete a app. Just click cancel, sorry for original maker but I cannot find the post where I found the Apk.

I love the concept but long home press stops working, and alternatives to the nav bar dont work in secure mode.
Does any one know of a working navbar height reducer?
I have tried a few apk's that were working on S8+ but they have no effect on Note 8.
Thanks in advance

What I'd prefer is the ability to see my nav icons only across the entire system, across all apps, but make the background of the nav bar transparent. Using no themes. Stock. Does that make sense? Things are transparent whilst I'm on the home screen, naturally. So that's not an issue. But across all apps? That's what I'd LOVE to have.

Hiding the nav bar remove the rounder corners

I wanted to use Fluid Navigation Gesture, but when i tick the box to get rid of the navigation bar, it also remove the software rounding of the corners, making the bottom corners look awfull. I tried a lot of different app and they all have the same problem.
I can hide it by enabling the one finger navigation, but it's pretty annoying because i often hit the fingerprint sensor while swipping up.
And "re-rounding" the corner with an app doesn't work on the lockscreen and on the notification shade, so it's pretty worthless.
Does anyone know a way to fix this ?

This sounds like an overlay conflict. Try setting the priority of the of the apps overlay to the lowest or highest rung. Then reboot and see if it works.
In terminal use these commands, each line is a new entry.
su
cmd overlay list
cmd overlay set-priority --user 0 com.overlay.package.name.goes.here lowest
reboot
If that doesn't work, set it at the top. Just change out the word lowest for highest.
su
cmd overlay set-priority --user 0 com.overlay.package.name.goes.here highest
reboot

Thanks for the answer !
I forgot i asked this question here so i never came back to this thread. Oops.
I couldn't find a way to set the priority of the apps overlay.
So i tried the second option in ADB, because i guess that's what you meant by "terminal" ?
In ADB, theres 3 overlay :
com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks
[x] com.android.providers.partnerbookmarksoverlay
com.android.systemui
[x] com.android.systemui.PixelTheme.Android80
com.motorola.android.providers.chromehomepage
[x] com.motorola.android.providers.chromehomepageoverlay
The PixelTheme is a Substratum theme, i only use the Navbar because i hate Oreo stock Navbar.
So i tried to set the other two higher and lower, but after 7 restart nothing change, the corners still look like garbage.
I'm pretty sure i made something wrong, i'm new to this.
Do you know where i went wrong ?
And sorry for the late reply.

I honestly don't think you did anything wrong. If ADB didn't give an error, then it worked. I'm going to download the app and try it myself. I want to see if I can come up with a fix. I normally use Termux on android for a terminal, but ADB should definitely work.

Are you rooted? If not, you need to be in order to use those commands from android. If you are rooted, you're probably using Magisk, and if this is the case, set Magisk to core mode only, then reboot, and try again.
That being said, I did find the source of the problem. You're going to have to message the app developer for this one. After looking at app, I've determined that this property needs to be added to,
/res/values/dimens.xml

The precise values may be different, but this is what the G6 Play uses to make the corners round. The dev needs to incorporate this property for it to work. Unfortunately, I can't make this change myself and give it to you. If I could, I would. The app has paid features and is licensed, therefore I can't modify and share it without their explicit permission. If the app developer needs to ask me anything, they are free to send me a message. I'd be happy to help them out.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<resources>
<dimen name="rounded_corner_radius">10.0dip</dimen>
<dimen name="rounded_corner_content_padding">4.0dip</dimen>
</resources>

I don't think it's worth it.
Pie, alongside stock navigation gestures are coming soon and i'll probably use these rather than Fluid N.G.
I gonna try to message the app devloppers, but i don't know if they gonna bother doing this for the very few people who have this problem.
Thanks a lot for the help, i wasn't expecting someone to go this deep to help me.

Yeah, no problem. I don't like to give up easily.
