Can someone try and give me the carrier value for Bell Mobility. You can find it with your registry under HKLM\system\platform\devicetargetinfo
I used the chevron method to debrand it but foolishly forgot to look at the orginal value. I am trying to rebrand it because aparently this can have adverse affects down the road during future updates.
"Tip: If you unbrand your #wp7 device, restore it afterward otherwise you may get updates not applicable to your device in the future. (Bad). @WITHINRAFAEL"
Thanks!
**edit**
Through some searching I was able to find that the carrier value is BEL-CA. So if anyone wants to revert back there you go.

So, my baseband version is I9305XXBLL5, and I'm on Portugal's Vodafone. I'm planning on rooting my phone so I can unlock it, but I gotta make sure I can return it to factory status (unrooted/locked) just in case I need to, for warranty purposes.
In SamMobile, there are 3 different firmwares with the same baseband version: one for Germany (Vodafone), one for Croatia (T-Mobile), and one for Switzerland (Swisscom).
Once I need to flash one of these to restore it to factory settings, can I just flash any, as long as they have the same baseband version? Or does it need to be the same carrier/country? If so, where can I find one for my carrier/country?
Baseband is nothing. What you need is a firmware with the correct CSC.

Where can I find my CSC? And also, after rooting and unlocking, wont I lose all the Vodafone apps? If so, if I flash a firmware with the same CSC (whatever that is) but different carrier, wont it come with that other carrier's apps?
CSC is the sales code three letters found on the box as the last three letters in the ART code and if I'm correct it should be TCL.
And the CSC contains the operator apps (normally in the hidden partition). So only if you change that ROM to another CSC you will lose operator apps.

Ohhh I see. Finally, someone that can explain things right to me.
Would it be too much to ask for you to help me backup the phone, root and unlock it? There are so many different ways, and some count for the flash counter or something like that, some don't, I don't know which one to use.
I just needed to SIM-unlock my phone, and know how to return it back to its original state if I need to, I don't want to install any custom ROMS or anything besides unlocking it. And I really needed it today

If you do a simple search you find all the answers right here. To unlock you need a 4.1.1 firmware but read here this does not need root afaik.
I've just got a new HTC One which when setting up did not have English UK language as an option. The setup defaulted to English German and I've since found out that the phone is an EU version. Is this going to give me any issues in getting system updates and running apps? If the phone is not a specific UK model I'm worried I may not get certain updates. Will the language also influence the way apps run? Should I send it back?
Shouldn't be an issue if you're able to set it to English. The updates you receive will be specific to the software version you're running, which can be changed.
If you go to Settings>About>Software Information, what is the software version? Ideally you'd be looking for x.xx.401.x which is the WWE (world-wide English) version, or x.xx.1540.x which is the US Developer Edition, which should be equally suitable for EU usage. Only real difference between the two is the Dev Edition receives updates well before the others.
If your software version is not one of those, you can do some searching here on how to S-Off your phone and flash one of those versions to your phone. The short version is to register at HTCDev.com, follow the instructions on how to unlock your bootloader, then use Rumrunner to make your phone S-Off. After that, the doors start to open on allowing you to switch your phone's operating system. Just do some searching if this is the route you want to take. It sounds complicated, but once you've done it, it's not too bad. The next barrier would come only if your phone's model ID is different from the one the software you want to flash is for. I'm going to assume your phone is PN0710000 which would mean the 401 software would be an easy transition. To use the 1540 software, you'd have to change the model ID to PN0712000, which requires some extra steps.
Last thing if you decide to go this route is you will trip over the words "custom recovery" over and over again. Don't worry about it. Unless you have a specific need for one, I always advise against it since it will prevent you from receiving updates and has great potential to brick your phone if you don't know what you're doing.
I recently purchased the G920t factory unlocked version on Amazon. I rooted it and installed a custom ROM. I was hoping that someone could help me out with finding the stock firmware for the factory unlocked variant. I believe it is slightly different from the standard T-mobile firmware, as it didn't include any t-mobile apps, etc. The reason I was asking is I've been having call quality issues and wanted to flash back to stock to see if it would be resolved, but didn't want to flash to the standard t-mobile stock as I believe it is slightly different. I know I should have made a back up before flashing a custom ROM but I failed to do so and am now trying to fix the issue afterwards.
Thank you so much for any help you can offer.
What firmware was on it originally? What baseband?
My USA factory unlocked 920T shows a baseband of G920TUEU3COK1 after the latest OTA update was installed. XDA rules don't allow me to post links to SamMobile firmwares. You can search their site for "920T", but don't used the "SM-G920T1" search result. The proper firmware has "Cellular South" as the Country/Carrier.
Thank you so, so much. So that'll allow me to roll it back to the way it was right out of the box?

yes, but I don't think it'll reset the knox counter to zero.
now i know why everytime i manual update my p9 plus c636b103 to higher firmware is making it c900. its because my p9 plus is locked to its network carrier and the network smart is not releasing the ota for p9 plus. i have a vendor of smart country ph.,
pls bare to read as your knowledge/experience will help alot not only to me but to the future whom might get the same questions as mine. pls answer every questions./problems i have encountered thank you.
Q:#1 as i understand i think i need to do the debranding?? to unlock my p9 plus from my network, at first it made me so confused because my sim is unlocked i can use any sim. but then i realized its still locked in system updates from smart ph.
Q:#2 do i need to unlock bootloader install twrp and root the p9 plus first before contiunuing to the vdo of debranding?
Problem: #1, i dont fully understand the vdo of droidth in debranding the unit. i got lost of understanding in the changing of ro. build. id something like that. i tried to do the extracting the verlist but when i open the extracted verlist. img in notepad i only get random letters and symbols(ex. b&+g~), but in the video i should see vie/nxtc636b***. so i really got lost.
Problem: #2. i know i need the unlock code from huawei website.before i can unlock bootloader and i already get a code but the problem is i forgot to right it down as i only txted it to my number which i also use in my p9plus and i factory reset my p9 plus when i install back to c636b103 because if i dont factory reset after install b103 i got null imei, camera crashes, internal storage none. but after factory reset its ok.
so how am i gonna get a code again? is it still possible to get the code again? can someone pls put the link? thx.
thank you.
your reply will be much appreciated.
Yes, you need to debrand your phone and install the generic firmware for your region (for example, c432 firmwares for europe). In order to do this, you need unlocked bootloader and twrp. Root is optional, it depends on how you want to change the OEMinfo. For the unlock code I think you can ask it again to huawei in the same way you asked for it the First time. For problem#1, sorry but I have no idea what you are talking about because I didn't use that guide. Maybe try to root the phone and then edit the file directly on it with somethin like root explorer.

can i use any firmware in debranding? and should i first go back to b103? i have frimwares here b180 b190 b170 b130 b362.. all ar3 c636, what should i use? and can i do now the debranding process even if im still on c900b180?
Since you are on C900, I believe your cust is broken. Read here: https://www.google.it/amp/s/forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/how-to-change-cust-c900-c432-t3392824/amp/ note: it's about p9, don't download or flash anything from there.
Now if you want you can try these steps:
1- unlock bootloader (if it's still locked)
2- install twrp
3- flash via twrp the attached file (ONLY if your phone is supposed to be L29-C636, which I believe it is)
4- install a C636 firmware with DLOAD metod
Now you should be on C636 firmware with a debranded phone.
I have a carrier unlocked Note 8. I am currently running stock AT&T firmware. I am trying to figure out how to get the OTA updates on my note. If I need to add a different apn. Does anyone know which one if is? Or is there something else I need to do?
