Winmobile stock 6.5 rom, if it matters, a touch pro2 from verizon.
Can anyone tell me what the 'HomeRSKPath' has in it by default?
It is found:
registry.. HKLM>Software>HTC>Manila>HomeRSKPath
I meant to edit the HomeLSKPath (which is the left key), but I was reading instructions exactly and he'd done it with RSK instead. I noticed the error of course immediately, but too late.
RSK was "lock" which envokes the slide 2 unlock or whatever it was HTC uses that may or may not be just same or different...(tryin not to offend the s2u author).
Please and thank you!
EDIT: Asnwer found, "\Windows\DeviceLock.exe"
Manila RSK

If you leave the field blank it will automatically take it to default. Must reset after reg edit.

Ok I have searched and not run across anything without reading every thread in here.
How do I change my default input method from keyboard to letter recognizer and MAKE it stick.
I change it i the input menu and reg edits but every time I soft reset it is back.
...we're on the same boat :?

I'm after the phone pad so I can still use the 8125/Wiz screen as a normal phone keypad at times and not have to whip out the stylus.
whatever you do, dont use registry wizard to set it... I white screened a week ago doing that, hard reset
hope to find a solution
Perhaps this:
HKCU\ControlPanel\SIP
DefaultIM {42429667-.... or one of the others {42429690- {42429691-
Look in the neighborhoud HKCR\CLSID\{424296...... for the others.
Cheers
edit: In case it wasn't clear you need to fill in the whole CLSID in the DefaultIM string value. So {42429667- including the } at the end.
It should work after a soft reset (gone with a hard reset)
Any Solutions to this yet?
Thanks
Jules

yes but i make a hard reset after the first try (manually change registry with tcmd) and i try in another way...white screen in every try
lost in translation...
I was saying that if you TRY to use registry wizard to set it, you will get a white screen, and be left having to HARD RESET....
Not the best solution, but perhaps you could use my program SwitchSip to change the SIP on every soft reset. I don't know if it'll stick though, I've never tried...

i don't know why there is no possiblity to change default IM in the WM configuration.

I think we've all tried the method. Read the posts above carefully.
Just as a problem recap: the default SIP reghack no longer works on AKU2 ROMS. The kbd default occurs after a soft reset no matter what you have changed the registry value to.
I'm working on this one too. I coded up a program that quickly set the SIP to block recognizer and exited figuring I could just add it to the startup programs folder to switch over after a soft reset.
However, while this program works just great normally, it doesn't change the SIP when run at startup. I am working on why this is, currently. So far I've determined that my program is able to find the block recognizer SIP so the SIP dll is loaded. Tomorrow I may get a few more minutes to work on it. I'll code my program to check to see if it correctly set the SIP to block recognizer and re-attempt to change until it's successful. I'm guessing that this will have no effect on the issue since my current working theory is that the kbd default is set sometime after the startup programs run.
Guys, I don't know whether my app worked or not, but this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=317635#317635
seems to suggest it did. I don't have a wizard to test it on though

@vijay555:
I've got my little app set up on my today screen so I can just tap it quickly after everything's loaded to change my sip but it won't work if I drop it into my startup folder.
Perhaps this is what the poster you refer to is doing? Does your program check the default SIP using SipGetCurrentIM after you switch to see if the operation worked? Or do you just check for an error code after calling SipSetCurrentIM. Me, I'm just checking for an error currently and am not getting one.
Sleuth255: I really can't remember how I did it, I wrote it in c++ before I could program in c++, somehow. I'm on a promise to rewrite it sometime, and turn it into VJSipSwitch, for now it's merely a bastard child.
However, despite this, it's also designed to be configured as a shortcut to be launched from a hardware key or shortcut... if it becomes an issue, I'll look over the code again.

Hello all!
I have a question about some issues I am having and I am wondering if they are common and can be fixed or I am making a mountain out of a mole hill.
I am running Dutty's DualTouch Rom v4 (which is awesome BTW) on a AT&T Tilt
but I have some issues I am running into:
1. When I type @ I get ! and when I type ! I get @, is this a common thing? it also happens with other keys that I am still finding out about. Can I remap the keys to be correct? Will Shaps Advance config 1.1 do this for me or I am misunderstanding that program?
2. On the home screen from the HTC Home plugin if I go to mail it opens up Outlook just fine, then I go back to the home and check my SMS and it brings it up fine. But when if I check my mail again it defaults to the SMS folder and I have to change it every time to Outlook, is there a fix for this?
3. Touch FLO is always different, if I swipe left I will get contacts. If I swipe left again I might get contacts but I might get something else, I have tried it many times and almost every time its different. Is there a way to make it so whenever I swipe left it always beings up the same thing?
4. If I want to change the Splash screen, do I need to put HardSPL on again and then flash it? or can I just do it now that I have Dutty's on there?
Thanks!

I might be wrong, but I think that is fixed by Tilt keyboard fix.cab (search forums for it).

I thought KaiserTweak has a setting as to what should open up when messaging/email is opened. KaiserTweak is a sticky in this forum.

You might want to confirm it, but I think once you've done HardSPL, you can flash splash screens whenever you want.

I had that saved from before (keyboard fix) I ran it once then I re-flashed and forgot to do it again, I thought that was only good if your keyboard didn't respond to anything at all, I didn't know it helped for that also. I guess I missed KaiserTweak, I will give it a shot.
KaiserTweak has Tilt keyboard fix as far as I remember.
Besides that, there is a Tilt keyboard fix.cab which solves exatcly that - improper key assignment..
I hope you flashed hard spl before you flashed dutty's rom anyway...
Yeah I did use HardSPL and it was successful.
I understand what it does, but once I flashed to dutty's wouldn't it not matter anymore? Or is there a reason done the road that I need it?
Thanks
Argh! its one of those annoyances that pisses me off lol.
Every time I enter a text field screen keyboard pops up covering half of the screen.
How do I stop it? I want it to open only when I click on it.
..........
Out of curiosity, are you using the standard keyboard or Pocket CM, resco ect?
Standard, the one that comes with Dutty's v4. It has a Touch skin, but I think it's standard keyboard.
If there's an answer somewhere - please point me in the right direction.. I searched and didn't find anything (it's kinda hard to phrase this one)
Sorry. Don’t have any answers for you. I was asking just to keejp note just in case a similar problem occurred with my Kaiser. I have an original non flashed rom by the way, so it probably won’t be a problem with me.

Yes you will.
It's not a bug, it's a feature.. and it comes standard with every ROM I've seen (WM5+). Most people won't have a problem with it, but if I type something, I use hardware keyboard.. so on-screen keyboard pop-up is useless for me.
ummm... well it hasn't been a problem with any of the two MDA touch's, MDA vario II, or two MDA Vario III's I've had in the last few months... Fingers crossed it'll stay that way....
I would also like to see a solution
I vaguely remember a blank-sip or none-sip program exactly for this purpose. You could make it the default. Maybe PHM made it, try searching on the web.
I like the option of using the SIP sometimes, but most of the time I don't want it. It seems like once you use it once, it thinks you want it all the time, until you use the hardware keyboard again. How hard would it be to just let me click on it when I want it. Jeez!
a blank SIP is an option in this free program: http://www.phm.lu/products/PocketPC/PowerToys/
Blank SIP is a solution, but not a very good one. When I do want to use screen keyboard, I'd have to snipe that little arrow to open SIP selection, then find what I want and click it. Wait for it to load...
It'd be easier if it just wouldn't pop-up when cursor is in the text field. There's probably a setting somewhere..
Try this....

Try these registry settings that worked for me. When I used to open a new document with ms word or go to the address bar in PIE the sip used to pop up but not after applying these settings. After import .reg file or changing them manually you will need to soft-reset.
It now only pops up when i select rename file in resco explorer. But I can live with that.
Hope this helps...

Some programs call it automatically. It's the way they're coded. I would think there wouldn't be a way to suppress the on-screen keyboard without disabling it entirely.

The only other way to do this is to go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip and change "AllowChange" from 1 to 0 and then soft-reset. However as you say this will disable it fullstop. So the only way you could enter info is either at the dialer (to call someone) or by using the slide out keyboard. To re-activate change the 0 back to a 1 at the above registry key.

Hi, I just want to ask a question about T9.
When I input a wrong word,my dimond add it automatic to the dictionary.
The problem is that the wrong word show at the first of the list when I input the word.
I want to know how can I delete the wrong word form the list?
I try to restart my machine,it is still there.
I hope someone can help me.
Thanks a lot.
(I am so sorry for my bad english.)
This is a good question as i have done it too
I would like to add a question in this thread: how to switch between words when using T9? Tapping on them is not always easy with the thumb when it's a small word.

I think you can use the hard button to select.
I've found out that if you use the hardware buttons to select the right word, it will always suggest that first, next.
search for the util "et9MyWords" that can remove (edit) the entries to your t9.
It is built in, in the dutty rom.

Thanke you very much. It is real good.
I just put it in the attachment file.
I cant make this delete the built in words. I can only erase the words I put in. Do anybody know how to do that?
i am running the latest 6.5 21202 ROM and whenever i start writing someone name into the new sms to: field i get two different predictions- the bottom grey htc style prediction(eT9?) and a little white box predicition(xT9?) near the name- if i press enter the phone freezes up, and if i backspace at all the phone freezes.
is there any way to remove one of the two predictors?
disabling T9 only removes predictions in the body of the text message, even with installing Taiseer's xT9 disabler. also i have disabled T9 with advanced config and diamond tweak.
the problem is that when entering a name they both still appear- yes this is a very useful function, but only if one appears- now that both appear the phone freezes whenever i choose from one
I had this problem at first too...but for some reason after I soft reset the phone a few times the problem's gone. It's one of the weird 6.5 bugs...perhaps because the ezinput sip keyboard isn't made for 6.5 yet? not sure though..
hopefully your problem is solved too though!
hmmm, solved, but not perfect
so no, soft-resetting did nothing for me. but i used regedit and searched for T9.
i found the reg entries for HTC's bottom name predictor (eT9) and there was one referring to install directory i simply changed it from "/Windows" to "/" and now the program cannot load it. and now there is no more freezing and only one predictor the microsoft white box name prediction.
this is good, great in fact- however, it could be better
the HTC eT9 predictor is better because it takes one keypress instead of two, not a big deal, but if anyone has alot of spare time on there hands- finding a way to disable xT9 instead of eT9 would be much appreciated.

In Post #4 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3576500&postcount=4 ) of my ROM thread there is a cab file to disable XT9. Not sure if this is what you are looking for but it gives the drop down style word suggestion.
