Can anyone upload F-Secure Mobile Security 6.0.5532 for me?
I thought I made a backup of it with titanium backup but it sas Has Data: YES
Has App: NO. And I can't get it back from the market.
It came with the phone.
you don't really need it..
Yeah, but I want it. If someone could just upload the apk or tell me how to get it back. Is there some way to do a factory reset that would bring it back to stock?
EDIT: Found it, uploaded it here for everyone who wants it back, too, whatever the reason:

I was removing apps using Titanium Backup and removed the contacts app by accident.. Its now just listed as com.android.contacts with a line through it :sad face: I'm not sure if it matters but I am using the new I897UCJH2 ROM.
I know I can get it back if I flash the rom but thought I'd see if someone could help me out.
Anybody care to help? Or let me know if its not possible.
Not a development question, post in general or themes & apps area.

I don't know if this is possible but I could backup my contacts app and send you the backup files. If you put them in the titanium backup folder you may be able to restore from it.
If anyone knows a way for me to backup the app as an APK file I would be happy to do so.

Well, I am not running JH2, but here it is from JF6 /system/app/contacts.apk
Any chance that's the stock Google contacts? Disliking what came with the Captivate..
Hi Forum!
So I rooted my optimus 2x, backed up and removed the f-secure and car home (uninstalled), but now there's a S/W update up? LGP990-V10c afaik.
Is it safe to update through PC? Read about about some people bricking their phones, and I'm still all-new to this whole android thing!
Appreciate the help
Kind Regards

Relax just update is ok!

Then after the update, all you need to to is re-root, re-remove your chosen bloatware, and re-enjoy you phone.
It's asking me to do a security backup, should I do this? Something like that

If it's F-Secure asking to do that, just ignore it.. You're gonna remove it anyway
But do the regular backup, contacts, memo, things like that, before you update

Can you please, confirm that update went ok for you?
Same scenario. The update worked great for me. (It didn't even wipe my phone data, but it's always a good idea to backup. Just in case anything goes wrong.)
When I use LG Update Service, it told me if I wanted to make a security backup or something along those lines?

It's just asking you to backup your contacts/notes/calendar etc. I didn't do that anymore. Just went through the update without backing up since I already have a nandroid.

What is a Nandroid? Is it something I should get (not need, but would be smart to get), if so any guides around or such?
Appreciate it Sorry for the newbie questions, just don't want anything to go wrong!
a nandroid backup is a backup image created with clockworkmod recovery, aka cwm. cwm is a minimalistic recovery os you can install it on your phone alongside the rom you are using
I think Smartflash is the way to go. You can find a stock image at modaco. Boot into APX mode and flash away!
Follow this link: http://www.psouza4.com/Droid3/PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.05.zip
Download the Pete Motorola Tools, this now has an option to unroot, as well as root again if you need it
NOTE: Do not use "restore /system/app" It is *only* for the Droid 3.
NOTE #2: This does not restore renamed/deleted apps. If you want to return it to complete stock, re-add or re-rename the app you deleted or renamed before unrooting.
Again, we still have no SBF, so all returning to stock methods will have to be manual for now.
Excellent thanks for this
is this a temporary make shift unroot method? or a fully functional....as if we had an SBF file type unrooting.
It's makeshift in the fact that it's not a complete system restore, as explained above. For that, we'll need a full SBF.
So in other words, the Verizon warranty is still void. I feel like this is the main reason why people un-root.

If you haven't *deleted* anything, or if you un-freeze everything *before* you un-root, then it will bring your phone to complete stock. What this doesn't do is restore your system if you've deleted or frozen apps. All of these precautions must be taken *before* un-rooting.
Once that's taken care of, un-rooting will bring your phone back to how it was before it was rooted and hence, your warranty will be back in tact (for all the Verizon reps know, technically your warranty is still void)
Does anyone have a list if stock apps? I know I deleted Kindle, NFL, & Blockbuster. But I cannot remember what else I may have deleted. {{YIKES}}

Does anybody know how to restore "Guided Tours 2.3.4". I made a backup of this app, but now it won't restore in TB. It just hangs. I've tried restoring as just the app, and with app and data.
Any info is appreciated.
will this stop my Bionic from boot looping on start up? all i did is root so i can restore my Apps. i didnt even do data just the apps and when phone reboots its nightmarish string of boot loops till i factory wipe. i have no clue why its doing it. 3 days of hell for me.

I am also looking to restore Guided Tours & News. If I unboot, can I get my phone back to stock even if I've deletex Guided Tours & News?

Let me know if this is correct. If I remove apps, then un root. can I re root, replace apps, then un root again to be back to stock?
Thanks in advance if anyone knows for sure.
Does this work on Windows XP? Pete's Root Tools are listed under Windows 7.
I see this is an old thread. I need to unroot to return to Verizon. I rooted .902 with Motofail and wondering if I could use Pete's to unroot. No apps removed just froze. I need to send this back tomorrow. Thank You

Hey there,
I have a backup of Good Mobile right after the PIN is entered and before it's "downloading services" that I've made a while back in GB (with user data)
Today, I was restoring it on ICS and it works OK, but there's also an update in the market for it.
My question is, how can I insert this new, updated version from the market in the old backup, while preserving the data I had at that time? I need that so I won't need another PIN from IT to setup the application.
I thought about replacing the .apk file in the backup manually, but it probably will crap out because the hast won't match... unless I have to manually update the hash somehow to match?
Thanks, please let me know what you think

update your app to the latest version and then restore just the data from TB.. this will give you the latest version installed on your phone with the data you backed up.. then you take the backup of app using TB.. so you'll have backed up the latest version of app with the data you had before.
That's a great idea! Thanks
Didn't back up with titanium back up and now it's gone! Is there a way to get it back or download it from somewhere else?
Thanks, K
