Hi all. I did something very stupid. I have a korean Optimus 2x su660. I flashed clockwork recovery and made a backup of my system, which went smoothly. Thinking that with clockwork recovery and a backup, i was safe, I then installed the Modaco custom rom v1. That install went smoothly. However i'm guessing because it was built for the p990, it did not run very well on my su660. Some FCs and the buttons didn't work. I also flashed the latest baseband(provided by modaco). After that, I figured I would just restore my backup, which I did, but after the restore, the phone locks up on boot. I tried booting multiple times, restoring multiple times....nothing seems to work it always locks up mid-boot. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix this??
PLEASE HELP!!!

That is for the p990. not the su660. He will have the same problems with buttons that dont work.
Are there no korean forums with roms for the su660? if there are you could flash one of them. But i think using the stock p990 rom would be a really bad idea.
Did you try to flash this one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942830
easy, using the same ver when you backup the whole system.
i have the same issue. i use recovery beta2 backup but i will not bootup if use beta3 to restore
I used the same version of recovery to back up and restore and had no success...thanks for the advice though. I have .kdz and .bin versions of korean firmware, but cannot flash them onto my device. I tried using the KDZ_FW_UPD but it crashes everytime i try to flash the firmware, and I have no idea how to flash a .bin onto my device. Any tips/thoughts? Thanks!
Have you tried following the guide for "getting back to stock" for the p990, and just replacing the files with the su660?
I have not tried replicating the process described to get the P990 to stock using NVFlash with the SU660 files because there are no files that work with NVFlash for the SU660. I have .kdz and .bin files for the SU660 and have no idea how to flash them (NVflash, as far as I know cannot do it with those file types). Has anyone done something like that successfully with NVFlash and .bin/.kdz files?

It looks like that simple flash via official LG tool from Windows cannot revert to stock Android 2.1 from 2.2.1. LG540 stuck after first animation.
I guest that is (was) because recovery image was written somewhere in rom, and only few roms can be used in that combination ( fastboot euro 2.1)
Can somebody tell to me: how to remove recovery.img , reset LG to orginal state so Windows flash can flash stock Android 2.1. ( gold card) ?
Thanks for any reply.
if you still have clockwork installed then you can just reflash the backup of 2.1 that we were all told to make before we installed 2.2.1
Yes, that is one solution, but I DONT WONT fastboot, or clockwork moded firmwares. I wont original LG software.
And I wont original flash procedure from LG ( from windows)
first: recover your 2.1 (with fastboot, recovery and etc. )
second: then flash phone with original lg ROM
Not working I tried that combination several times
i'll upload my recovery from 2.1 and try that. (about in 10 minutes)
Ps. have you tryed to flash with kdz updater too ?
Waiting for your recovery
Yes, the whole point is that after you put Clockwork moded 2.1 there is no chance to make flash with KDZ uploader ( and that is what I need)
I dont know what that clockrecovery mode write to memory of LG , but it is obivious that KDZ cannot erase that. And for that reason after successful flash from KDZ uploader LG540 is stuck after animation. But as soon I re-flashed LG with clockwork recovery it starts to work again. So reason must be in that rom.
hmm. it takes more than 10 minute :S shows about...hour (220mb)
220MB?
Hm, normal roms have size about 140 MB, you have monster
i know that. i have several apps installed on it. when you dont want them. then wipe from clockworkmod to factory reset.
but. i've just tryed to recover my backup from 2.2.1 (cm6.1.1) to this 2.1 and it booted up as normal.
edit: upload compleated : http://www.multiupload.com/86OZ7RA1W5

You say you try to recover your backup from 2.2.1 to 2.1. How you do that?
Via KDZ tool?
no, via clockworkmod ...
i was saying , that the recover from 2.2.1 to 2.1 worked with this backup
read my third post

yes, i agree that. flash this recovery then try to flash original 20B with kdz updater
i'm updateing right now my phone to original 2.1 with lg mobile support tool
Your backup has sd part and I dont have sd partition on card: so does it will work?
how i've just downgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.1:
1) recovered my backup from 2.1 (yes i know that it's a big recovery, because i have several apps installed on it, but it doesn't matter, you can do wipe/factory reset if you want)
http://www.multiupload.com/86OZ7RA1W5
2)now connected my phone to pc and installed lg mobile support tool(this gived me drivers too ) (from lg site)
3)now i've "upgraded" my phone via "lg mobile support tool"
4) and now, i'm on official 2.1 rom
yeah. that's ok when appears error with sd-ext
Just now I use same technuiqe: hope will work.
It looks like that KDZ updater is less powerfull then suport tool, but I have still to wait and see if Updater tool will finish flashing
DIDNOT WORK
hmm. that's interesting. for me worked.
Now I will try to use your backup: so need to instal fastboot and clockwork recovery rom: then I will wipe all, use yours backup: and then follow your instruction.
Does you flash Blackquatrx ROM ( or something like that)?
It look like that one of those installation erase original boot image, and that will be whole problem, to revert original boot.img from untouched LG540 2.1
Hi
Before I've installed the Modaco CFW, I made a backup of the stock rom.
I didn't like the Modaco CFW and I made a Restore with the Clockworkmod ROM Manager. But now I can't boot the device. It always stuck in the boot Screed with the LG Logo.
I have read there is a problem with the Filesystem. The Stock Rom use EXT3 and the Modaco EXT 4
But now, my phone is bricked.
Have anyone an idea how i can unbrick my phone?

Search for NVFlash and Optimus 2X to find the way to reset your "bricked" phone .
or it might be that you need to go back to EXT3
http://android.modaco.com/content/l...3-for-converting-your-device-er-back-to-ext3/
That got me the first time I tried CyanogenMod-7 and tried to go back to a nan backup
Just install this in CWM and then restore your backup
i know CWM.. but for this phone any backup from that app is useless... you can't restore from it.
Why can't you restore from it?
everytime i try to restore. i just end up with the LG Logo, making me just install another CR (which works) but the backup i made with that same custom ROM and my modification/apps are useless.
This happens to me, too. I've tried with many different backups, but same result every time.
Sent from my Optimus 2X
I've already restored once without problems, gonna restore once more tomorrow (now i'm doing some experiment with official rom), so i will report (i have CWM 3.2 now).
What CWM version are you using?
I'm using the CWM 3.0.2.8
Have only tried restore of stock backups, so only way to get back to stock rom for me is with the smartflash tool.

Also stuck at LG logo after reboot from Clockworkmod 3.0.2.8

Hi,
I have the problem that stuck at the LG logo after restore backup and reboot from clockworkmod 3.0.2.8. Could you please tell me on how to do with smartflash tool. What is smartflash tool? really need help here. Thanks.
Argh... never got CWM to work. Better do use NVflash.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007825
yeah so it seems CWM can't really restore backups, be it stock ROM or Custom ROMS. utterly useless rom a restore point of view.. but i think it is something to do with the way it back ups our current ROMs

Use the guide in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070
It will totally wipe your phone, though. Backup all important files, or place them on your external SD-card.
Edit: You'll need the original ROM file from this thread, too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
After the CWM restore just reapply the rom.zip. It should boot again, with all settings restored.
Did a restore that way today myself, after upgrading my baseband from 0405 to 0502.
Hello experts,
After CAREFULLY reading the instructions to root and install Cyanogen on my X2, I have run into a problem. After downloading Rom Manager from the market, I installed CWM, which worked fine.
Going by the instructions, I wanted to ensure I performed a NANDroid backup of the stock ROM, 'just in case'. So i did.
After confirming, and granting 'su' privileges, the phone restarted, only to be stuck on the LG logo.
Holding down VOL DNW + POWER is no help, as the phone was still stuck on the logo.
I don't understand what I have possibly done wrong, but none of this was stated in the wiki so I am assuming i'm in a unique situation?
After some googling:
> I have read that it may be from CMW converting to EXT4.. whereas the stock rom can only run in EXT3? .. android.modaco.com/topic/336318-4-apr-r1-backtoext3-for-converting-your-device-er-back-to-ext3/ ..
> All hope is not lost as apparently, I can flash to stock rom using NVFlash: .. android.modaco.com/topic/335474-25-mar-nvflash-stock-rom-release-v10b-dated-1300166062-15032011/ ..
Ok, so I understand I have a possible solution to my problem (NVFlash), however I would like to know why this happened & how I can avoid it from happening in the future.
Thanks for your help in advance.
sumsoomi.
Incase anyone else has the same problem,
SOLUTION:
For P990 - NVFlash instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229407&highlight=recovery
Recovery images: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745&highlight=recovery
Does this mean two versions of CWM are installed?
One with Rom Manager & one with NVFlash?
If so, how to get rid of one?

NVflash is a built in safety system by nVidia, it has nothing to do with the recovery image. You should be very careful with NVflash, because it's very low level and even the slightest mistake could brick your phone.

boot problem
you can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617458,fl**** with cwm if you can boot in cwm recovery
Hello, I've recently tried installing Topogigi's ICS v30a ROM from ParanoidAndroid. During the process, I've upgraded CWM to 6.0.1.2 and performed a full dalvik, cache and data wipe on my phone. I first tried installing Topogigi's ICS v30a ROM using an earlier version of CWM without any success however after upgrading to a newer version of CWM and installing the rom, my phone appears to be hard bricked. Once I turn on the phone, the LG logo appears and then it shuts down within seconds. Entering recovery mode only gives me a blank screen. Any ideas?
EDIT: got it fixed by installing a new baseband thing (don't fully understand it 3 using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070
EDIT: Can't get the new custom rom to install, tried deleting all the data from paranoid android and it still boots up as paranoid android. Please help!
you best bet is to do a full NVflash install then update using CWM,
try this following directions in the OP, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007968
then update using topo's V30a.
the NVflash is a unbrickable solution. make sure you install the drivers for the phone you can get them in this pack http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975274&highlight=apx+drivers
then do the directions in Topo's OP and you should be running a pretty decent version of V30a.
let me know if you get stuck anywhere.
Hello necrowakker,
Thanks for your help, I've installed nvflash however I haven't a clue how to flash this rom using nvflash. I can't find the .bat file inside, only a boot.img and system.img file. I've downloaded version 1.1 of topogigi's rom and tried flashing with CWM 6.0.1.5 after doing a full data, cache and dalvik wipe but without any success.
Thanks again for your help!
