Hello everyone.
I'm kinda new to this forum so hello everyone. Ok.. yesterday i flash my galaxy s with Darky's Resurrection Edition v9.2 through odin. everything goes well, no worries.
But.. i wnt to know how can i go back to my original firmware which is 2.2 froyo. i download my orginal firmware file and i knw how to flash..
bt i have some questions..
1. do i need to wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition like before install darky's rom?
2. Do i need to tick re-partition button coz i have only one file?
hope someone help me
Thanks.
It is a good idea to clean your data partition, so you get a clean fresh install. What may happen if you don't do it is that you will keep any settings and apps from Darky's ROM, which can probably fail with the stock ROM.
Repartition is not always necessary. You should check if the previous pit file is compatible with the ROM you're trying to flash. Most ROMS uses 512.pit, so If you've flashed Darky's with 512.pit and the new ROM also requires 512.pit, then no need to repartition.
Problems after bad flash custom rom etc I always flash stock Eclair pit 512 and repartition checked then flash stock Froyo or update via Kies .
Stock is not your original firmware its the firmware provided by Samsung to the network phone provider before they customize it or not .
But if you followed instructions and saved your original firmware you just flash that back .

Thanks a lot guys..

Hi, today I installed MIUI beta 7 but I didn't like it, so I just uninstalled it installing another older ROM.
The problem is that I tried with:
- Wipe everything, install official JPY_JPY_JPY via odin (no lagfix)
- Wipe everything, install RomKitchen's XWJS8 via CWM (hadcore kernel)
- Wipe everything, install RomKitchen's ZSJPJ via CWM (voodoo lagfix)
And none of these works. When shows the white "S" boot animation it just freezes and vibrates.
What can I do for recover my Galaxy S?
repartition
try to reflash a full firmware (with everything - kernel, csc, modem, pda). Check the repartition option in odin and select a pit file (any of them will do)

Will try to flash a full official JPU firmware. After that, I'll see if I can install JPY and finally a Romkitchen's ROM.
Thx!

Yes, but I won't wait for RomKitchen to activate the new gingerbread rom in their kitchen. I'll just flash JS8 (I don't know if there is too much difference between JS8 and ZSJPJ... is there?) and no more.
EDIT: THREAD ENDED
Thanks to B-1P, my phone finally booted after installing a final JPU firmware.
My i9000 is on i9000xxjvb stock rom. I flashed modified kernal to make it rooted and cwm enabled. I am unable to move appear from phone memory to internal SD. An error message appears " failed to move application, not enough memory."
To get rid of this, i tried Hamsterbread 1.1 custom rom, but problem not solved. I used every method from hard reset to wipe cache, data and more. But nothing happened.
Now I want to downgrade to froyo. I don't know how to do this? Please, tell the procedure in detail and step by step. I belong to India. There is no 2.2.1 version available for India. Can I go for other regions versions? or I should stick with i9000ddjp6 which is latest verison for India. Thanks
i havnt tried downgrading. but i think you could try flashin back using odin with bootlooder froyo.
i live in india but use european firmware an see no problem
^^ Im not sure about this. I think you can just flash a Froyo ROM via CWM. I am not sure about this. It always makes sense to search around before you do either. Good Luck!
If you flash speedmod (or whatever froyo kernel you choose) through odin, then simply install whatever rom through cwm via zip file. The downgraded froyo rom doesn't need bootloaders, the gingerbread ones are backwards compatible. Tried it myself and it worked without a hitch.
Just flash any stock firmware through ODIN with pit and repartitioned tick and you are good to go.
Makes sense to open eyes and read the post that tells you how .Or even use the search button .

just flash froyo kernel using odin and then enter clockwordmod install zip
Hi all,
I don't know if this is the right place where to ask for.
I searched through the forum but, maybe for my poor english, I didn't find anything.
I've unbricked my SGS with the Darky's resurrection version. After doing this, i noticed that apps installed from Market disappeared at every reboot.
Trying to resolve this issue, I did a re-install of the resurrection.zip.
Now, I can't install anything. The only result is crash of the system.
My question is: how can I take the phone to a full clean state, in order to do a full clean rom install?
Thanks in advance.
download mode still works yea ??
flash stock eclair 2.2 in all 3 files (phone, modem, csc) and add 512 pit, tick re-partition and that should sort you out

Yes, download mode is still operating. The whole system is full operating, except for apk installation (....) .
So you suggest to revert to a stock Froyo (2.2), then use the standard procedure for rom flashing?
Doesn't this compromise my 2e recovery?
its the safest way, you can always re flash kernel to get CWM recovery back.
guaranteed to fix you up
I am now using MIUI ROM, and I am planning to go back to samsung i9000 stck rom so that the kies can read again the phone... any here knows how to do it.
Thanks in-advance.
Download a rom with a proper CSC code from samfirmware (mine is ITV for instance, wich means no-brand italian phone) and flash it using Odin with repartition ticked and the right .pit file.
Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache before and after flashing.
thanks i will try thst
Hi guys,
I'm really interested in flashing Revolution Rom to my SGS1. It currently has CyanogenMod7 on it.
I've looked at the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236432
but can't figure out if I'm meant to just flash the rom or if I somehow need to flash a stock Gingerbread first before then flashing the REvolutionROM.
Can anyone assist?
Apologies if this question's already been asked, I did a thorough search but couldn't find anything. Happy if you just point me to another thread if it's already answered.
thanks
Aaron
To revert from CM7 to any other samsung rom you need to first flash a full PDA stock rom with odin. with repartition. and 512 pit.
then you can change to what ever rom you want.
