Hi,
I used PowerMax to save some battery power and this has worked fine during a couple of times. But a few days ago, the 3G data connection did not work again when restoring. What I had to do was a factory reset to solve it.
This has now happened again and I refuse to make a factory reset at this point, its gotta be something simple...
What I´ve already tested:
* Power the phone on and off
* checking the APN settings
* Restoring the APN settings
* Turning PowerMax on and off again
* Switching 2G on and off
* Switching Airplane mode on and off
Anyone got any ideas ?
UPDATE: I went to work and realized during the way that I had a 3G data connection in the top bar... I believe that there was an issue with the Operator and when I changed base station it fixed itself.

No longer have any data connection. 3G/E/H etc is gone. No icon at all.
I've tried a couple things:
I tried airplane mode on/off.
I tried the *#*#4846 thing and disabled radio there. I changed the network band. I tried "Enable data connection" there and nothing happened. I made sure it was enabled on boot.
I removed my sim card and put it back in. Started phone with/without it.
Wiped the phone in recovery. Reflashed Cyanogen/gapps.
Reflashed the radio.
Tried Modacos senseui just to give it a shot. Still nada.
NOTHING is working! Anyone got any ideas or any other fixes I can try?
This is really killing me...
ok i had this problem last week and this is what i did and it worked for me.
1.Settings
2.Wireless and Networks
3.Mobile Networks
4.Access Point Names
5.Make sure it says epc.tmobile.com
if it doesnt say that then just add it and when u finish just hit save and wait a couple of minutes and there should be a E/H/G Hope that helped.
sounds like a carrier issue..i have had this happen with tmobile in the past .. just typical network gremlins..
About 3 days ago I reinstalled Settings Profiles and setup some schedule for phone to go to Airplane mode at night, after I woke up, phone exited airplane mode but was unable to connect to data network, I tried to disable data network and enabling, then tried to delete apn and setting it to default, finally I went to debug mode and tried to connect to 3g from there which it does but disconnects right away, sometimes it will stay connected for some time but will disconnect. I also tried to use different sim cards from tmobile to att, same issue.
When it first started haping I was on fr91 rooted rom, so I decided to swich to new cynogen mod, which I did by wiping and installing and I still have the same issue, does anyone know how to fix this?
Did you try this?
In phone hit * # * # 4636 # * # * Phone Info and try to set the WCDMA preferred to WCDMA only.

Yes I did. I tried every combination possible and sometimes it works for couple of hours but then it will disconnect again. Do you know how to reset antenna? I see an option there but no idea how to change it.
Figured out the issues
Switchpro widget has 7 places to put different functions on it, you can make into 5 or you can make it show 7. if you had data function off and the you deleted or moved the widget, data portion will not work. so if any of you have an issue make sure switchpro is not turning off your data..
I turned my Mobile Network (3g data) connection off for the night to conserve battery, and the next morning when I tried to connect again via the quick settings, it didn't connect.
Under settings it has the caption, "Connection Failed".
The network was working fine for ages prior to this, and on a few occasions, turning off Mobile Network for the night was fine.
I've tried resetting the phone and taking out the battery + SIM for a few minutes.
I've also tried re-entering APN settings with no luck.
I'm with Vodafone Australia, running the stock 2.3.3 virgin au rom.
Nobody else on vodafone is failing (relatively speaking )

Update:
It was a 3G widget messing everything up, thanks letmedanz
Any ideas?

Did you try wifi connection?
just wondering..
i am quite certain your problem is with the apn settings.
try deleting the existent apn and enter a new one. save it and try reconnecting...
though not very important, you could check for the port number to enter in the apn settings with vodafone.
also, if you are using any third party apn modification tools or even a simple 3G on-off widget, the settings do get wasted.
if you do, uninstall them, re-enter apn settings and try
Hello all,
I flashed CM10.0 a few weeks ago and everything was working fine up until 2 days ago, now my I9000 won't connect to the internet at all. I was using Easy Battery Saver which cancels the data signal everytime the phone is idle, but this stopped turning the connection on. I uninstalled it hoping the phone would revert back to normal but can't get connected. I restored the app hoping it would pick up the settings again but still no joy.
I have wiped everything including user data and the caches, done a factory reset and reflashed the rom. The signal did return for about 30 minutes after the flash but the connection has since died again. I've tried switching on the roaming and national roaming, also no luck.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or even how to fix it?
Thanks in advance

I am just guessing, but as from what I understand you uninstalled the application when you were not having the internet connection working. Right? The correct settings have possibly remained overwritten (some applications block the outgoing data traffic by changing the connection settings). Give APNDroid a try and if unsuccessful try going to your phone operator webpages and find the correct connection settings.
I am using CM10 with APNDroid which works fine. However sometimes I cannot connect to 3G as well. Switching the APNDroid on/off couple of times or rebooting solves the issue.

Thanks for the response mate. You guessed right, APNDroid hasn't fixed it and I haven't been able to find APN settings other than the one that is already in my phone. Might reverting to stock solve the issue? My contract is up at the end of the month so I could handle living with GB until then .
Hi again, reverting back will definitely not solve the issue. From what you had said I understand that the internet settings are somewhat messed up.
These settings are bound to your SIM card. By up/downgrading ROM these remain.
Could you check if your APN settings are correct (I assume you need to check with your provider).
Good luck and keep us informed.

Just found the APN settings online. Reset my APN and it looks to be working. I'll keep an eye on it just in case but I think either the ROM or the App messed up the user/password on the APN.
Hopefully it's all fixed. Thanks for all the help.
first try apn tweaker from market then if no luck what worked for me
1 flash darkyrom 10.2 re
2 alliancerom jw4
3 then jw8
working well for past week
Hi! I just bought my z3c and everything works except that most of the times, when I try to connect it to my home WiFi (Netgear DGN2200v3) I get an "Authentication Problem" message. I became aware of this issue when coming home and the smartphone would not auto connect.
I read somewhere that putting it in Aereo mode and then turn on again WiFi would do the trick, and in fact it does, but obviously this is not a solution.
I tried to:
- forget the network and reconnect
- triple check the password
- change wifi channel
- restart the router
- update the router firmware
- change some wifi settings on the z3c like switching on and off Optimize WiFi and Auto IP support
Is there anything else I can do?
Change the wifi security type.

Done, from WPA2 to none and back again.
However I just tried to reset my wifi settings with FXR WiFi fix and rescue and it worked. No more issues with autoconnect, no more authentication problems after a couple of tests.
My guess is that I had some previous backed up wifi profiles from google that were messed up, resetting them did the trick.

uh, I haven't needed to turn off google backup. maybe you should try to reactivate it, as new wifi data now are unlikely to be corrupted and can be backed up
I just wonder if my settings screwed up on z3c side or on nexus4, my previous phone.
well, whatever
Unfortunately didn't work for me.....
