[Q] No signal on CyanogenMod 7 RC3 0.08-11.03.27 - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

After updated to this rom my phone is unable to search any signal on Rogers, it happens when i flash one of the Froyo rom. I fixed it by replacing ro.product.brand=MOTO_RTEU with ro.product.brand=MOTO_RTCA in /system/build.prop. However this method won't work in this case, I also tried to apply the Canada baseband from OR and apply over the Cyanogen file.any help
Edit: problem solved, just realized i bought my phone from Hong Kong so it should using a different baseband.

Do you have a Telus phone? All i need to do is flash the Telus baseband from Androidiani Openrecovery. Works every time...i never needed to edit anything in the build.prop.

I believe that, if it is not too much trouble, you could get a nandroid backup of the Froyo Tellus Baseband, but Androidiani Basebands work fine as well, although not the latest ones.

[Q] Flashing Bell Galaxy S

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right section. I attempted to flash my Bell Galaxy S with the [ROM] Bionix 1.9 - JI6 OTA Build - Oops I did it again *10/14/10* and basically it installed no problem, but once it did my phone would no longer connect to the network at all. No voice or data connection just sat on searching. I restored from my nandriod backup and to my horror, still no network connection (voice or data), wifi and everything else worked fine. I ended up doing a lot of reading and staying up until 8AM to get everything fixed, felt a little stupid once i knew how-to fix it.
But now to my question, if i want to flash one of the roms, is there any special procedure that i need to follow to not loose my cell network? Any help would be fantastic
LOL... Thats sux's anyways you can't flash that rom. its not for your phone you have a GT-I9000... that rom you have flashed is for the SGH-T959.... You will need to download Odin 1.3 and flash back the whole JH2 firmware to get your radio files back. or download any rom from the i9000 forums and flash it.. but the only way to get 850mhz back is to flash to the stock JH2 firmware. unless you know what your doing and know how to flash just the radio files. you can also try kies with a reg hack to flash different firmwares.. just look around in the i9000 forums..
Go to samsung-firmwares.com and download the JH2 firmware then flash it back. Tmobile Vibrant is different from the i9000x line of phones.
I think you guys misunderstood, I have fixed it already using ODIN. I was just wondering what was flashable without breaking my radio.

You might find luck in trying to add an APN for Rogers under Wireless & Networks in Settings.

euhm... i dont have a data plan..?
the simplest way would probably be to restore your nandroid backup, then make a copy of all the files in /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default
then you can either make a new baseband update (just unzip one of the ones in openrecovery/basebands in your sdcard, replace those files, zip it back up with a new name) or you could edit the ones in the cm7 update.zip
Androidiani OR, has a baseband selector, so I think that coud be the easiest way to fix that problem
While choosing the file for rooting phone you could choose from many, many files. Weren't they made for different basebands?
*FIXED* upgrade to 2.2GOTTELUS then upgrade to cm7 fix your call/network settings then search for your network. WORKED PERFECTLY

Q: CWM flashable stock UGKC1?

Is it possible to use/make a CWM flashable version of the kc1 firmware for the i9000m with froyo bootloader? I'm currently using a gb rom (SURFACE by samhaleke) with Galaxian kernel. I'm having issues being stuck with the "Emergency Calls only" problem with nothing working to fix it and thus, I've decided to try to revert to stock before getting a new sim card.
Currently with Bell Canada, which is why it must be the UGKC1 build.
Thanks!

Yeah sounds like it could be a sim card issue.
Locate Perka's file stash on the market, and you'll find it in that application.
Good luck on getting the new sim card (if that is the issue)
I know that there is a cwm kc1 flashable modem file around. That would work too at least as a first bet.
G
Thanks for the suggestions guys but i need more than just the modem. Im trying to find a cwm flashable version (maybe even deodexed/rooted if possible) of the full firmware. Ill have access to a computer soon so ill be able to flash with odin anyways. If tjat doesnt work, new sim card hopefully!
not a cwm version but samfirmware does have the odin version of KC1
otherwise its just the modem portion that has been kept in circulation in cwm format
did you search the forum for March when KC1 was issued? does Ramad's thread have the full package still?
Already checked.. Its alright though, i got my problem fixed after talking to bell directly. Something wrong on their end. Haha. Thanks for the help though.

[Q] No network after successful Root?

Ok folks,
Forgive me if this is a panic post!
I successfully rooted my note this morning, I was on LA6 firmware, Downgraded and rooted without any problems.
I noticed that I only had "emergency calls only" after the reboot, so went into mobile network settings and managed to get a signal on my network (3uk) although it dropped again when I rebooted again?
Right after the Rooting was done, I backed up my EFS folder as stated is best practice, then backed up the stock rom.
I thought that maybe the old baseband version was giving me the issues (I presume the notes modem is similar to the HTC radio?) so I went ahead and gave Checkrom NoteHD V6 a shot. It all installed fine and as it should but I still have the no network issue. I dont think it corrupted the efs system as I can still use wifi and my IMEI number is still there.
Any ideas for a new note owner?
Edit:
-----------
I did make note that I was on Baseband XXLA4 before rooting or flashing anything, is it safe to go ahead and flash it from the modems thread via CWM? Should this help?
any pointers if doing so?

You may have already tried this but are your APN settings correct?
They may change or get deleted between ROM flashes
Also what modem do you have and baseband in the about phone menu right now?
Wow, that was quick!
My APN settings all seem fine. The preset for three.co.uk were still there and the settings inside seem intact.
Im currently running baseband XXLB2.

Then it should work your modem is not old and your APN is fine
Maybe try putting another SIM or another carrier
As ive put in the edit to the OP, is it safe to try to flash back to the XXLA4 modem? If all else fails that is?

How did you root your note? I am on 3 in the UK with same firmware, have been looking around but not much progress.
Cheers.
First thing first...
- do the hard reset Vol Up + Menu + Power *or* CWM Wipe everything. Reboot...
- Still no go, go and download different radio HERE and flash it

Ok, followed your advice. Hard reset hasnt improved it.
So went ahead and flashed XXLA4 (my original modem) - Nothing,
Just tried the KL1 modem -Nothing! GRRRRR!
Maybe I will try to go back to stock, I was on the LA6 firmware, See if that works.
sorry m8, couldn't help much...
is that phone carrier locked?
i suggest, flash CheckRoom v6 (the most professional stock look-alike rom). If the problem still there, try flash another radio. After that if still no go... try CM9/AOSP ICS

No, no carrier lock, no branding, no nothing!
Just been racking my brains, after refering to a video link posted in the how to root galaxy note thread, I see a chap called cursed4eva created a video using ODDKL1 as the downgrade to root method. Just checked on samfirmware.com and that is Indian firmware, could this cause my network issue?
Im in the process of downloading the lastest Uk firmware now.
If it was the case that this indian firmware was causing the issue, wouldnt flashing checkrom fix it? I didnt seem to for me?
Anyway, rooting around on the samfirmware pages, ive found a directly rootable firmware package (KK3) that was a carphone warehouse UK one.
If I get network back from the latest firmware, im going to downgrade to the above mentioned carphone warehouse package, Root, and try again.
I will post back some results ASAP.
you can flash any rom, but the main problem is the radio. different country got different radio.

Answering your question, I don't have service with a company in the U,S,A, anymore. Now I'm here just on vacations. I just purchased this Thrill without testing a sim card (I won't pay that expensive roaming from my overseas carrier). I plan to unlock it and use it there.
Thanks for the above link but... will this work on a Thrill (not optimus 3d)? I haven't tried the custom ICS yet, I would like to if it doesn't have those problems with the 3d camera. Can I move from the rooted Official ICS (no CWM) to the custom ICS?

I don't think the 3D camera is fixed on any of the custom ones yet. I haven't checked in a bit, but from the last one I tried it wasn't. You're probably going to have to use CWM or TWRP to flash the custom ICS ROM as well.
The LG Optimus 3D and the the LG Thrill are essentially the same phone. The LG Thrill is the US version of the Optimus 3D. Those instructions will work with your phone. If you would like to install CWM you can use the following instructions to install the recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859662
The download link is for the .apk file and is best downloaded from your phone, if that is possible. You need to be rooted for this to work. I am using the following ROM on my LG Thrill with excellent service.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956347
If you decide to use that ROM or one of the other Custom O3D ROMS, you will need a baseband called "LGP920AT-00-V18a-AMA-XXX-OCT-28-2011+0_CP.fls" to work in the US, found here
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zv3qpd6jylvqg31/9jm_8omNov (Thanks Tactics119)
When you take the phone back overseas, you will need to change the baseband to one that works for your area. You can determine which one you need in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958484
You can obtain whichever baseband you choose, from the same place you got the previous one.

No. You have to install the baseband and the original ICS port through lg flash tool if you are updating from gingerbread. If you already installed ICS then all you have to do is install the baseband through the same tool. But if you are flashing only the baseband, when it finishes it's going to say invalid ap path. When it tells me this, it flashed my baseband, but it normally has an AP (in this case, ICS) along with the CP (normally the baseband) which is why I think it gives this error message. So you can just restart your phone.
