I flashed darky's rom with the voodoo lag fix and then stupidly tried to flash over the top my recovery file. now its stuck loading. can't access recovery mode but can access download mode... any ideas?
Just posted this in another thread, with similar issues, try this, should fix it.
--------------------------------
HI,
Try the following, worked for me
1) Go into recovery mode and wipe both cache and partition data
2) go to samfirmware.com and download the original rom for your phone (the one that came with it)... since you don't say what region you're from, I'll give you an example with mine. Mine is from Bell, and factory comes with UGJH2, so i downloaded that with ODIN and the PIT FILE, make sure to extract the TAR file from inside the RAR file. Put all 3 files in the same folder
3) Enter download mode, when the phone is in that state sometimes it's hard to access download, best way is... remove the battery, put it back in, then hold VOL DN + HOME + POWER until you see a working android bot inside a triangle. When you see that, connect your phone to your PC, double click on ODIN, then load the PIT file (CHECK BOX RE-PARTITION leave the others to default) and Select PDA and find the TAR file you extracted in STEP 2... then click on START, it's gonna take a few mins, and even after it's done, it's going to reboot, and it'll stay at the "S" logo for a bit, leave it, then it'll boot.
At least we hope it will.
Keep us posted,
Thank you,
Rodi.

Can't get into recovery mode only download mode?! I'm on orange uk custom galaxy S Rom 2.1 originally. shall i just follow your steps but use a stock samsung android firmware?
Thanks Alot btw!
Yeah keep going with the download mode, it's very possible that the recovery mode process is not even necessary, but since I have no way of testing, it's doesn't hurt to try.
so get the orig rom, with pit associated with its (u'll see in on sam firmware which pit you need, most likely 512 for stock out of the box).
Keep us posted

My I9000 is international and factory unlocked....
right well were gunna need a 3 file firmware in order to use PIT. bear with me whilst i have a look for one.
probably samfirmare.com ?
yeah just been looking on there they all seem to be 1 file
Yes samfirmware.com has 1 files only.
Are you sure if i flash with 3 files and select repartition then it will solve my problem?
install another firmware like jpjpa with 3 files and then flash xxjpy on it

Thanks. Odin is updating now.. Hope it works once done.
hi.thouh i am quite experienced user here.i have read everything possible.
now how i got this.here is the story.
i had sgs i 9000 version
android 2.3.3
jvk version
then i just rooted it using odin.fine.
use speedmod kernel for gingerbrid works firne.
then when i tried to go to that rooted stock kernel made by chainfire it rebbot then
here is story..
samsung boot scree looping again again.
i can enter in recovery mode and download mode,
tried nandroid restore but same happen.
plz help what to do to make it alive.
i know its not bricked bit i didnt worked either?//
Get into download mode and re-flash a stock 2.3.3 or a 2.3.4 rom with Odin and it should help fix the boot looping.
any stock firmware .i just downloaded this from forst link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
will it work?
NO ONE??/my * is burning.i got very sow internet,
Yes any of those in that thread, Froyo or Gingerbread should get you sorted out.
i mean first one 2.3.4 jvq veersion in the given link bddy.is it okay?
should i tick re partion in odin or not with this 2.3.4 jvq version?
JVQ is fine.
If it's a 3 part firmware (separate phone, pda, csc), then 515 pit is required with repartition ticked.
hey thefirmware i download is just .exe file.one file what to do
Uploaded it for you.
Just unzip it then add it to Odin.
Double click it as it has to extract, which then will give you 3 files.

Awesome, glad I could help
Hi,
So, I got a Samsung Galaxy TAB 8.9 (GT-7300) WiFi+3G. Nordic/European version. I have a long history of rooting and running custom ROM's on my Android devices, but this time i f##ed up a bit.
1. Installed root_original.zip from this thread by copying it on to the tablet and applying it from stock recovery.
2. Booted and installed Superuser and ROM Manager from Market.
3. Used ROM Manager to install CWM for Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Yes, I know...).
4. Tab would not boot, but I could still get in to download mode. Browsed some XDA threads and came across this guy who seemed to have the same problem. I did not see that he had a P7310 (WiFi only) tablet. So, I used Odin 1.85 to install the bootloader, which was for the P7310, not for P-7300. Now, the tablet boots but the display is just flickering, like it is using a wrong refresh rate or wrong resolution. Not at all possible to read anything, but I can still get into Download mode.
5. Installed stock rom from here, specifically this one: P7300XWLA2------2012 January----P7300NEELA1-----Nordic countries----
Still no luck. The tablet boots into Android but the display is still flickering.
$20 for anyone who gets me out of this mess
Can you come in recovery ?
Than try this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1519564
There is an option in CWM under the mount and storage tab where stands mount usb connection click on that and move this to your tab after that install it
I hope it will work!
You could also try the Swedish firmware: http://hotfile.com/dl/146666862/13403b2/P7300XWKL4_P7300NSEKL1_NSE.zip.html
The NSE are usually pretty much the same as NEE with some swedish bloatware. Worth a try I guess.
Also see this guide for how to use Odin in case you did something wrong: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
One thing that I've noticed when flashing with Odin is that even if I check the F.reset checkbox it still does not do a factory reset (at least it did not do it for me). You should be able to do a factory reset using the stock recovery.
Oh and btw, my advice is for free.
Hi safariking,
I can get in to recovery, but I'm unable to read anything, as the display is just flickering. I would need a press-by-press guide in order to perform the steps correctly... :/
Thanks kallt_kaffe, I'll try the swedish firmware and follow the guide step-by-step

If you turn it off and charge it, is the charging-mode-display also distorted?
Also if I were you I would leave it on in download or recovery mode and let the battery drain completely. Worth a shot I guess.

If I turn it off it automatically turns back on and boots Android. So I can't see if the "charging while turned off" icon is also distorted.

I left it in download mode last night, it's still turned on. I'll let the battery drain and see what happens when I connect the charger.
When I flash a complete ROM with Odin (e.g. the Swedish ROM you suggested) - is there anything left to flash that could be causing this? If I were to return the tablet to the dealer, will there be any evidence of dumb-user-flashing?

I honestly do not know.
Have you tried flashing the PIT file (in the PIT section) along with the ODIN image (in the PDA section)? You can download the PIT file so you can click on Repartition, right here. It's a very small file. Be sure you have F.Reset Time checkmarked too. Best of lucks.
If you flash a bootloader for P7310 so when you trying to flash P7300 ROM with odin, the bootloader will mapping all file just like P7310 with their partition Layout.. I think the pit file is not the solution..
First you need turn back the bootloader to original form.. I dont know where I can find P7300 bootloader..
After you finish with the bootloader, try to install P7300 Stock rom, with pit file and repartition..
I dont know if this post will help you.. but it worth to try..
EDIT:
maybe you can use firmware from P7300ZSKH5 from this link
This file include with bootloader and pit file..
Flash with Odin like image below
Sorry for my english..

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately: no luck.
Just to be sure this isn't a compatibility issue on my computer, I set up a clean install Win7. I'm using x64, could this be an issue?

As long as you have the right drivers installed, no. That's my setup.
I had a similar issue. It occured only when I turned display off and on, both in android and in battery charging mode while powered off. I just went back to the store and got it replaced. xD
Anyway the flickering began to show up after flashing 3.2 back from a 4.0 rom... So I think there was something wrong with the bootloader.. Didnt find any tar file containing the original bootloader.. Perhaps someone here can make it for you
hey,
i got same problem after i tried to install cm9. now i cant install nothing (i formated cash, data, system and preload) no data factory reset working. i have nonstop bootloops and format cache and dalvik not working but cwm ist starting but not working really. but can start download mode too ... so i think its not a super-brick for my gt 7300 from switzerland.
so, i will try to download from samMobile the original firmware and to flash with odin. anybody knows a tutorial with odin for gt 7300? cant find nothing for pit, csc, tar ...
please help me
thx sophie from switzerland

I have to say, I was about to send the tablet to samsung, it was dead, no rom, no boot, no partition, no USB connection to store, what save me was the Odin up load that you recommended me, the tablet was really crashed.
I Think that is a sollution for actually almost any problem on the tablet (a complete format, sure, but still a good solution for ROM problems).
anyway, Many Thanks!!!!!!
Newbie try to help.
Have you try to install another CMW version using odin? Maybe it's caused by wrong CMW version. Try CMW v5.5.0.4 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312218
Hi All,
I need your help with resolving my i8190N boot-loop situation.
What caused it:
I was on aokp and flashed revenge v4 over it with cwm including the modem mod listed in the thread.
I did manually format system, data & cache before and possibly after.
Symphtomps:
The white i8910N logo shows up, then disappears and the whole process repeats each few seconds.
Can't boot into recovery.
What I tried already:
Booted into odin mode
Flashed: wipe.md5, params.md5, stock recovery.md5, pre-rooted stock rom.
No change whatsoever.
Can someone help me resolving this?
I look funny on the train typing on my beloved G1 from 2009
Thanks!

Use the pit file that matches your phone model, which is the i8190N, dont worry if you used the wrong pit file, it will automatically fail

Unfortunately this didn't change anything either.
I did it both ways:
1. Flash the .pit first, then the ROM next
2. Flash the .pith and the ROM at the same time
Please see the attached screenshot of what I did.
Update: Just repeated the same thing on the screenshot but with re-partitioning enabled. Still no joy.
Thanks.
Use PARAM file here, see if that helps, flash as PDA in Odin.

Since then I flashed reVenge v4.0 and this time it simply worked.
Great thanks for all the replies!
