You should really learn how to use the "search" feature, or google, or look for something similar in the forum you're in. For instance, the thread linked below was on the first page of q+a - how did you miss that? The link is to my most helpful post, which failed with all the cracked SPB versions, feel free to give it a whirl with the market version....

i did search, but really couldnt find any solid info, sorry

Does one exist? I've done a lot of XDA searching and reading, and can't find one single rom that has all of these features..
I am looking for greater performance. I've gotten 3.0 MFLOPS with Linpack
I dont mind if the rom has sense or not.
Yes, I have practiced: rooted, nandroid BU, titanium backup, and have wiped and flashed multiple roms (DC, Aloysius, FreshToast, PureHero, Superhero, Darchdroid)
(I have flashed dconfig and the apps2sd on top of the roms and it undoes theming)
Should I just flash what I want on top of DC, or wait for new builds?
Looks like Buufed 2.0.1 or BlueEcho 2.1.6
Any other ideas?
40+ people looked at this... clearly they had the same question.
Anyone?
Most of the roms u saides u tried have all the things ur looking for purehero would be the fasest of those i'm guessing cause it's senseless and it has a2sd already in the rom and also has dconfig inculded and dd2.7 also has a2sd imcluded but it's more like the froyo a2sd as in the a2sd is controled in settings>manage apps>app name and both those are oc'ed and dd2.7 can be undercolted as well so I would try them agaim and linpack does work the best with our prosser so it will be hard to get more than 3mflops with amy rom till mayne froyo. But I have heard of giys getting around 5 with dd2.7

Thanks, gobi. I didnt know that darchcroid had the .29 kernel
DD2.7 I was getting around 2.8 to 3.1 MFLOPS.
maybe it was A2SD in menu
The Darktremor A2SD/Apps2SD will work for just about any rom out there (if it doesn't work on a particular rom, let me know and I'll check it out). I currently run it on DarchDroid 2.7. Previously, I was running it on Buufed, Fresh, Blue Echo, modified stock rom, DamageControl, FreshToast...you can tell I switch roms a lot (have to test the program on various roms to make sure it works).
So, if you want the Darktremor Apps2SD, just pick a rom you want to use and download the 2.7 Update 3r1 or 2.7.5. Preview Fix 2.

Oh my bad trikiton I thought it was his .29 cause he was still working on his .32 kernerl when j posted that
And if i'm running an aloyiosm based rom with dconfig is flashing ur a2sd going to break dconfig??

DarchDroid 2.7 for me is between 4.5 & 4.8 MFLOPS.
Hey, I want to listen to driving direction thru my bluetooth...Hero with plantronic pro any suggestions. Thanks
I too am hitting 4.5-4.8 MFLOPS on DarchDroid 2.7 with the UV/OC #15 kernel. Didn't realize it was .34 based until I read this thread. =)
The crazy thing to me is, I downloaded the Froyo build a few days ago, and I can't get above 2.5 MFLOPS with it. Was really shocking, and made it incredibly worth it to stick with DarchDroid 2.7. I'm missing the HTC phone (in-call, mainly) and contacts, but otherwise 2.7 is a dream come true!
Thanks to all of you...
Thanks, Ive found that Buufed was the smoothest.
I love the way PureHero Snowmaps looked, but in the end I think I'm going with DarchDroid.
tkirton thanks for your help.
Guys, thanks for your feedback on Darchdroid.
I cant find any info yet on the UV kernel. I look at that next.
Which version
Is there any notation on which version to use?
One for JIT, one for A2SD?
Do i flash both?

Hi,
great site........
I'm trying to get my 2.1 software upgraded HTC hero back to 2.0. My phone worked great with my in car blue tooth system before the stoopid 2.1 update and I just need it working again.
please help...
Thanks guys........

There is no 2.0. It's either the original 1.5 or the current 2.1. You can root your device and install a custom ROM of whatever you can find here if you choose. There is a really nice version of 2.2 in the Dev section if you want to go that way. If you do some searching you'll find all the info you need to accomplish this.

hummm? it must have had the 1.5 then prior..........
I wonder if the 2.2 would fix my issue.....
let me see if i can find the threads your talking about...
Thank you,

2.2 has a rc1 and nightly builds. May or may not work with your Bluetooth better, it does not have sense. I prefer that, its quick and zippy.
Otherwise I'd suggest trying the custom 2.1 roms and if they don't work and you want to go back to 1.5 I highly suggest digging up an old custom 1.5 rom rather than go stock.
You might even get some help figuring out how to get the drivers from 1.5 into a custom 2.1 or maybe 2.2 if you're patient.

I don't know if another 2.1 would help you, don't they all use the same bluetooth stack?
Do 2.2 ROMs use the same bluetooth stack?

Not positive but worth a try. If 1.5 stack worked I thought maybe it could be merged or swapped into a 2.1 if he wanted to do the work. I could be wrong

2.1 bluetooth drivers were pretty broken. I highly recommend trying 2.2, as it is much improved

Loading the xml files to Tasker
I am a new just a few weeks into Tasker and I see all of these great xml files people have created, however, I do not know how to execute them once I have loaded them into my tasker directory in my phone. I have created a few simple things and I am reading some articles called Pocketables and other things about Tasker. But I have seen all this xml files that are already built and "ready to go" but I can not load and execute them in Tasker and can not find any material where it defines "how to."
I have tried various ways unsuccessfully and if some gentle soul would like to give me a hand I would appreciate it. It would appear you would create a Task and select a category, then file, but this is where I am really hung up at this point. I have tried various different ways and so far nothing works. Gary
is that possible?

That vers. of Fennec requires ARMv7 cpu, it won't work on Tattoo (ARMv6).
Try this one: http://bit.ly/aQ22MP
Tried it on my fyodor Rom and must say its a long way to go. You simply end moving the screen from one end to another as it does not support the tattoo resolution. And browsing takes time. But it carries hope to be better I feel.

ok no matter how many times i search for the ram hack i can never find the simple information i need. i was thinking of using the ram hack on my g1. i currently have the most up to date Amon-ra recovery and im using superE on my phone. would the hack effect any emulators i use i.e the sega genesis emulator and the gba emulator since it uses the graphics chip for the hack. what are the side effects and benefits?

I'm pretty sure that there isn't a RAM hack for SuperE. I don't think it is possible on 2.1 ROMs. You're probably thinking of SuperD, which does have a RAM hack version.
And yes, a RAM hack will probably affect performance on games. However, if you don't need to play games on your phone, I would recommend getting the RAM hack.

cheers for the info matt. very helpful. i would downgrade but i like the apps i can use on super e so will stick with it how it is.
Forget ramhack.
Use the 2708 radio/spl/kernel combo. 15 MB extra RAM without actually being a hack and NO negative performance on GL.

The radio link in my sig. And you should be able to use the universal kernel patch. But honestly, Super-E is kinda outdated. Some of the 2.2.1 based roms are faster than the 2.1 CM based ones. And the 2.2.1 roms have the proper video driver instead of the hacked one CM developed.
If you refering to froyo I've tried a froyo one before and it sucked. Didn't give me what I wanted and needed for my phone. Ran into problems. If you can point me to one that is an eclair rom and is better than super e then I'll check it out. Right now i want some speed and reliability for certain apps. Namely handcent sms and dolphin browser.

If you want Eclair, Super-E is the best. You should be able to Nand backup your rom, install the radio, nand restore your rom, then flash the 2708 kernel patch over top.
There are froyo roms based on CM, and ones based on the official release. THe CM based ones have more features, but are slower. The OTA ones might be what you're looking for. I'm not trying to talk you out of super-e, it was a great rom, I used it all summer. I'm just saying there are more options out there now.
I'm using Handcent and Dolphin on RichieDaze's Froyo for Trout with no problems.
im confused. are the main 2 files i need from the link in your sig dream_2708kit.zip and ezBiffTestKernel20101106-2708_S.zip??
Yes, the 2708 kit has the spl and radio images that you'll need to flash from fastboot on your pc. The other is the kernel you flash from recovery after you restore your Rom.
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using XDA App
I don't have fastboot on my PC. It can be done through the phones fastboot like with other radios.
But you need the new radio and spl in order to get the extra ram. The fastboot method is much safer than flashing the radio and spl thru recovery. Fastboot is in the android sdk, in the same folder as adb. There's a sticky here with directions.

cheers bigt, you've been a big help mate. Will check it out later on
Thanks again
Loved super e before this ezterry ram kernel was found, now that i have applied it to the eclair rom it's smoking faster then ever, i do notice beter battery life and peformance with both my g1 and my girls mt3g(we both have the same radio 2.22.28.25 + super e rom) As far as i can tell it hasn't affected games or the emulators i use on it, might have even gained some fps on some!
Also i go to agree about froyo it sucks, especially for us g1 users who need a good rom like super e to allow more apps to be installed thru a2sd.

Thanks for your reply but I found it a 2.3 based rom.
Actually, I think 2.3 is just to demanding for G1
Yes it is a 2.3.x base and it will keep going up. currently the ROM is at 6.4.2.
It is not demanding as far as I know. I am currently using the base 6.4 and getting ready to upgrade to 6.4.2 (for basic fixes).
But that is up to you.
Even with the 2.1 base I think it's still demanding.
