After I updated my UK O2 HD7 to nodo last night, I was getting all sorts of connection problems until I noticed the update process had reset my phone's clock to 1st January 1980 at 2am. Weird!
I changed the clock back to the current date and time, but noticed all my live tiles were borked - none of the apps would update live tiles at all, and most op them complained loudly about being unable to register for updates.
So I was forced to do a hard reset and have only just managed to reinstall the 90 or so apps and games, and reconfigured all the apps with the right logins and settings.
What a palaver!
Anyone else get these issues with the clock and live tiles?
After the hard reset, however, everything does seem to be working. Touch wood.
I had a similar issue with the clock being changed, the update set my date a week forward and set the time forward about 8 hours. Messed up some of my message and phone log ordering but that is about it.
No problems here with O2 UK NoDo. Clock working fine for me.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

How was color banding on your phone before and after hard reset? Did you notice any change? I currently have color banding on my phone after NoDo update...
I also encountered this old-date issue and some of the live tiles not updating (HTC HUB for example). Also, sometimes the bluetooth isnt connecting properly with my headphones.
I havent tried hard reset yet so hopefully you have info on these items before i do it (as a last resort anyways)... Thanks!

Colour banding present, unfortunately. Don't know about before the hard reset, didn't wait long enough to observe it. The banding is due to a firmware update bug, and I understand HTC will be releasing another firmware update to fix it shortly.

Hi,
I'm a victim of weird problem that occurs on my SE Xperia X1 phone and affects the clock.
Generally, after going into standby mode something is happening with system clock and after switching the phone on the clock is late - sometimes just few minutes, sometimes few hours.
This bug appears only sometimes and the soft restart seems to solve the problem for a while (the clock updates itself to correct time), still it is very unfortunate bug, especially when you use a phone as a alarm every morning
Did someone had such problems with X1? and perhaps know the way to solve this problem?
best regards
piotr
my x1 seems to freeze about once per day when docked. usually the only way that i notice is when the clock is stuck (i.e it's still stuck at 15:30 when it's 16:15). the other thing that happens is that for some reason the default theme is applied when i open the start menu (i.e the start menu colour is the same as the genric windows theme colour) ...
a reboot fixes this issue. so far this has only happened to me when i've been docked (as far as i'm aware) so it may have something to do with activesync ... ?
hardreset is the fastest way to solve "strange" problems.
do it and check without installing anything. if it happens again your xperia has something bad, if it happens again after installing software, then there's some program causing it.
I got the same thing.
Very annoying.
Only noticed it with the new R2A roms though..

doh ! i was hoping that the new firmware solved the problem. :-(
Thanks guys! Today I updated Xperia to R2AA10 and so far I did not install any new software (it is hard to resist though. I'll let you know if that solved clock thing
Guys after the R2AA10 update the clock problem is still there. No programs install for 2 days, and today suddenly, clock has gone 1 hour back...
What is going on?
This happens only in 2nd and 4th panel. The clock is normal in the 1st panel, and in the panel with the fish...
What should i do? I tried soft, hard reset, everything!

I would not say it is a matter of panel - on my Xperia this problem occurs in first panel (even after updating to R2AA10
Hello,
I have the same problem with the Htc Touch Diamond after updating to the latest official ROM:
ROM: 2.03.483.1 FRE
Radio: 1.09.25.23
Protocol: 52.51.25.26H
Windows Mobile 6.1 build 20764.1.4.3
I think it might be due to some bug in a power saving feature...
Has anyone got a solution?
I have a part solution
it happens on the SPB panel for me, its the 4th panel for me also.
if yours it the 4th panel too then try moving the panel to another place.
if that doesnt work then i know this deffo works as iv used it, goto the today panel, leave it there for a few minutes (10-20) then go back to the panel which has got the bug, you will notice the time will be in sync and the problem goes away. It happens from time to time, sometimes weeks apart so as much as its a pain, i can live with it. I dont know if it affects the alarm when the time stops.
I have the same problem with the clock. Was looking for a solution here and found this topic. Funny thing is, I have also the spb mobile shell panel and it is on the 2nd place. I will try the trick of safdl and hope that the problem will solved. And about the alarm, freezing of the clock doesn't effect the alarm.
Same here
The same problem here with an HTC Diamond Touch... however it looks very random to me. Any solution or clue about what is happening?
I solved this
My Touch Diamond had the same problem : the clock was never right. so I downloaded the advanced configuration tool and turned on every single power management option and it seems to have fixed it. hope it will work for you too.
I tried this one. But it's not WORK!!!! HELP!!!

Hello,
I've been having a problem with a few of the custom builds (Timor, AthineOS, CellPro Evo), and one problem I've noticed with each of the ones I've used is that when I get a text it doesn't notify until I wake the screen back up. Once I do that it vibrates and rings, but its up 30min after I got the text. Is this a known problem with a fix or am I better off sticking with a stock ROM?
Thank You
Funny you mention this, because I'm having the same problem. I thought it may have been a tweak I'd done and was going to do a hard reset today.
The only cab I've installed is Microsoft MyPhone. And had to edit the reg to allow the changing of the notification light timing in the Sounds & Notifications settings.
Do you know if this happens before you've made any changes to settings or installed any software on the phone? I don't recall having any problems like that myself with Timor installed, but I'm also not sure I received a text in that time. I haven't tried the other ROMs you listed.
It seemed to happen after I edited the reg settings.
Doesn't seem to be a constant occurance though. I happened to me 12 hours ago, even after a soft reset. But now I just sent a test message to myself, and all is ok... weird
Well I've regularly installed My Phone, Marketplace, Bing, Groovefish, and MP3 Trimmer, but I'd rather not delete and hard reset everything to do a test if someone knows a fix
I haven't had this issue...I am using the Valkrie Firestorm 5 and even when my phone is sleeping my phone vibrates as I get SMS messages and emails...
Well I have hard reset and held off installing using the My Phone. Everything seems well with recieving on time...but now the screen turns on everytime i get a message. It didn't used to do that and I find it quite annoying..I looked around my settings and Advanced Config and couldn't find anything.
It happens in the stock HTC rom too.
It normally doesn't happen if you come out of the text messages and go back to the home screen after you reply to someone. It's a really annoying bug
Me too...
I thought it was the result of all the hacking, tweaking and breaking I've been doing on this flash since I've been using it as a "scratch pad" but the problem you are all describing sounds identical.
I will also second the Home screen suggestion. Hit 'End' after you are done messing with the phone to go back to the Home screen. There is definitely a notification bug related to not alarming/vibrating when not on Home screen.
Though I have observed this issue, this does not completely explain my problems. Sometimes I don't actually even receive the SMS or MMS until the next day or after rebooting my phone! Most of the time it's fine though. I'm going to do a clean flash and see if that gets rid of that issue.
Same Here
I have run across the same problem with a number of the cooked ROMs. I never really noticed the problem with the stock ROM though. In my experience some of the cooked ROMs are having a problem handling the text messaging. I have over 3000 text msgs in my backup and as soon as I try to view an older text, the systems tend to lag and freeze up to the point that I need to soft-reset. Im using Athine right now and so far it has handled the text msging just fine without freeze or lag, but it also seems to have the same notification delay bug that the other ROMs have.

Yeah I'm familiar with that bug. But I go back to the home screen 99% of the time then shut the screen. I'll get a message and the LED will start blinking, but only when I turn the screen back on will it ring and vibrate.
Same problem here with the cell pro rom

I have the problem with almost all of the ROM. Does anyone know if it could be a result of not using the right radio?
I could be wrong.. but I don't think it has anything to do with the radio. There doesn't seem to be any problem is receiving the message from the carrier, it's more-so the OS not notifying. This has only happened to me since trying the new WM 6.5.5 builds with Sense 2.5. Previous to these builds I have never had any issues, and only used EnergyROM with a COM2 build, and Sense 2.1

Im not sure about all the technical stuff your talking about...I just know that on almost every ROM I flash, when the phone goes to sleep, they seem to not do anything. Its only when I wake it up do I receive text messages, notifications and the weather doesnt update on its own in the prescribed time its supposed to according to the settings I have selected.
The radio version may affect the quality of your reception. So if you have no reception then that will obviously delay texts getting through, and stop you being able to get to the weather servers. But I can't see why it should have anything to do with delayed notification of texts that are already on your phone.
I realise this might not help you much, but on my EnergyROM (see my signature for full details), my phone gets texts fine when it's asleep.
The weather isn't designed to get automatically updated when your phone is asleep though. There was a recent thread on how to change the registry to make it do so, if you haven't done that then your weather stuff may well be acting correctly.

WHY DONT YOU JUST USE A ENERGYROM????? I dont have any issues with those roms and i just updated to the .88 radio. no issues as of yet.
an article on WMPowerUser, here, tells of 9 issues that have come up with the Mango update.
i.e. decrease keyboard accuracy, battery not updating, etc.
are any HD7/HD7S users experiencing any of the mentioned issues?
experiencing any other issues not mentioned? if so, what?
sh4d0w86.
I dont have any have the problems mentioned although I had the beta unofficially.
I guess people need to realize its always good to full wipe/hard reset a phone after every update and this is true for android phones as well and also a couple of restarts to a phone for the updates to sink in.
I feel the keyboard is faster as well and the voice thing works you need to enable it under settings to get it to work, same goes for attentive app which is now in settings by default.
The only problem I had was with the HTC hubs which wouldn't load or update and the hard reset solved those issues.
I think MS has done an amazing Job updating so many different devices from different manufactures so beautifully, its not like just one iphone from apple.
I wish people always do a hard reset / reboot phone before posting problems as these solve a lot of issues just like computers a restart is needed when installing new software
yes. too true, too true.

i experienced 1 or more of the bugs, erhaps the most serious one is after updating to mango , i couldnt find the linkedIn and twitter options in accounts!
did a hard reset and all came back
HTC released an update few days ago , since then no problems
please forgive me if this has been asked before. i have seen a few posts and been searching for 24 hours but cant get a definitive up to date answer so here goes.
i have just purchased my first windows phone the hd7 to see if its worth spending on a more expensive one.
i hacked the phone and installed HD7 ROM: Windows Phone 7.8 Deepshining v8.1 (build 8862.144) on it.
for some reason i dont get ANY notifications at all on anything except for email. this includes
1. facebook
2. me live tile
3. zune player now playing.
there is probably more but i dont know as its still new. now i need facebook pushes more than anything as i do a lot of buying / selling / trading on facebook and need to be informed the minute someone posts. i dont care if its in the facbook app or the me live tile, anything would be ok. setting up email notifications isnt an option as its a business email and need to keep it clean of facebook crap and need to know the difference between an email and a facebook update.i noticed that the HD7 ROM: Windows Phone 7.8 Deepshining v8.1 (build 8862.144) says it fixes the live tile bug. was this bug the bug i am mentioning now?
so any advice would be welcome on how to get it set up. i have linked my facebook account to my live account and tried installing / uninstalling facebook with a reboot inbetween and also tuned pushes off then on again with a reboot inbetween. i havent done a hard reset as it took me ages to add photos to my 200+ contacts and dont want to restart doing all that again.
*edit* bit the bullet and did a hard reset and still the same..lost all my contacts as well even though i backed them up to windows live account.
*edit2* just found out searching that hd7 defaults to using 3g instead of wifi for most things, i dont have a data package on my phone and rely on wifi as i have it here and at work. could this be the problem?
i am starting to think its something simple but then again its very annoying. i have bought an all singing all dancing windows phone that is advertised as being able to personalise and recieve notifications from various sources keeping me up to date and connected. where as in this state i have a phone that can make calls and look pretty..
please somebody help me. even if its not for facebook push notifications just a live me tile would do.
*edit3 just flashed dynamics 2.0 rom and still same..no push notifications at all.
and to make matters worse i thought i would set up email notifications from facebook as a quick dirty fix. i sent myself an email which took 10 mins to arrive. so attempted it again from gmail and its been 20 mins so far and still hasnt arrived. i have noticed that the wireless icon only comes on when i click a live tile..could that be a problem or is there a way of keeping wifi on at all times while the phone is awake
think i may just sell the phone lol..this has put me off a windows phone for good. how can ANY phone take that long to recieve an email lol..not acceptable on an old nokia brick from 2000 never mind a £100+ top of the range windows phone..absolutely disgraceful
*edit4* found the setting for time frame for email. it was set to check every hour. settings ranged from 1 hour to 15 mins to instant. after setting to straight away emails got sent instantly from live, although for some strange reason gmail can only be set to 15 mins as its lowest setting.
Hello. Apologies. Windows Phone has gone through quite some changes and fixes keep coming. We have support till next year. HD7 is a wonderful device. I have a new on too. I have the same issues on whatsapp notifications that don't show up but it might be some minor flaws that they will fix in the next updates. MS is aware. HD7 and HD2 will be good for testing updated software as "it entry level" specs prove to be powerful enough to update OS. Keep hanging on to it.
Thanks.
Hey,
I have an HTC One black - stock os - UK unlocked version - after 4.2.2 update.
I've got a strange problem regarding the top of the touchscreen. when the phone is horizontal, the top bit (between the top bar to the first widget) is not working. the rest of the screen working fine. when I pick the device up, the screen is working fine 70% of the time. as a result, I cant open the notification bar and it thinks that I'm clicking or re-arranging my widgets.
It's weird because IT DOES work 60% of the time.
1. did any of you experienced any of this before?
2. What do you think it is? software or I have to replace the digitizer?
3. Is it just calibration problem? I tried to calibrate the device using the keyboard screen calibration and it didn't do anything.
Thanks!
Eran.

I
I just started experiencing this same problem today as well. I was on a Google Edition 4.3 Rom for about 2 days, Viper 3.2 I believe and everything was initially working as it should. Suddenly I began experiencing the non responsive status bar. I cleared data & cache, fixed permissions, and even tried a factory reset with no luck. I then reinstalled the Rom and the problem persisted. I then downloaded and installed black jelly Rom along with a complete wipe of the entire storage after transferring important data to my PC, but the status bar was still unresponsive and it appeared the top 1/4 inch of display had a digitizer issue. I tried to restore an older backup of Venom Rom running Sense and I still had no luck, until I went into the browser so that I could rotate into landscape to see if I could access it from this orientation (don't know why that didn't cross my mind sooner?) After I pulled the notification shade in landscape I left it down and rotated back into portrait mode and drew the shade back up slowly, following through with the gesture all the way to the top of the display. Then the functionality from portrait was restored! I believe this is a software bug of some sort, but I'm contemplating returning it to stock and relocking the bootloader to return it. I'm actually using the Tmobile variant and it's only about 30 days old. My insurance will cover a replacement for a faulty unit, but who knows if will happen with another? After a Google search I discovered this was an issue that surfaced with quite a few One X's as well, so I'm thinking it may be a bug that's consistent with some HTC hardware of a different variants? Any updates or insight would be appreciated.
