I am currently using phiremod 5.3 and when I toggle Bluetooth on it tries for a bit and turns back off. I am probably just missing something important here but I wanted to know if anyone had a solution. Thanks!

Your post makes no sense... Let me try to guess what you meant..
Your backlight turns off, but the LCD stays on? In this case you would see zero light emissions in the dark, but in reasonable lighting you could still see the screen contents.
Or is it that the LCD turns off, but the backlight stays on? In this case you would see nothing on the screen, but in the dark you would see the backlight glowing.
In either case, I would suspect an app.. You might look at the wake lock info (I use Spare Parts from the market for this) to see what's keeping it awake, ignore any Phone related items.
You might also just try powering off and back on if you haven't yet.
Hold the power until it unit is completely powered down. Power up. This happened to me once about 5 days ago. I have not seen the issue again.
I have spare parts, but i see no noplace that shows what apps can control the screen. Thank you for the help, so far im still tryingf the other solutions, and i will fix my signature.
You didn't make any edits to your build.prop file, did you? Because what you're describing is the exact same behavior I got when I changed the board entry in build.prop to mimic the Galaxy Tab (this was when I was trying to get the Tab's version of Swype working on the nook).
If you open system/build.prop, there should be an entry that says the following:
ro.product.board=zoom2
If it says anything other than zoom2 for that entry, then that's what's causing you're problem... In which case, you'd just change it back to zoom2 to fix.
I did is that what happened,i was trying to spoof milestone overclock to work, il try that. Thanks a million!

Did you reboot after changing it to zoom2 and saving? If you changed it to just like in the post above and rebooted, I'd be shocked if it didn't take it back to normal.
Well, yes but it didn't fully restart, it just restarted I don't know what to do, maybe I can find the original build.prop file and thatll fix it

Did you hold down power for 10 seconds to do a full power-off and then power on again?
Yes hard shut down, maybe something else is wrong...

Hello all. When I push my power button i feel some haptic feed back but menu doesn't appear. I'm running phoenix ultimate with suckerpunch voodoo kernel. Been running this same setup for weeks now. Is a problem like this rom or kernel related?
I had to pull the battery, to turn it off but when i reinstalled it turned back on fine, but still no power button menu.
Suggestions?

I'm running Cm7 7.0.2 stable on emmc with the oc kernel (not a nightly) and the bluetooth will not power on. Everything else works perfect. Ideas?

While in the BT menu hold the power button until it shuts off. Then power up, it will work.
So go to bt settings and hard shut down. Upon reboot it will work, do I need to do this all the time or just once?
Thanks

Ya BT should work when you do a hard shutdown. Also try resetting permissions in the clockwork manager app.

I also found somewhere - goto wireless settings, turn off wifi reboot/shutdown. Turn back on, then turn on bluetooth, wait for bluetooth symbol, then turn on Wifi. Only need to do once. Wierd but worked for me.

Thanks, this worked. Love XDA for quick, correct answers!
When I shut down my phone, the screen will go black and it will vibrate like normal. Last I checked the vibrate was to confirm that it was completely shut off. Instead, the four touch sensitive buttons will light up and stay lit until I turn the phone back on or, of course, pull the battery. This is also keeping me from entering download mode. A few days ago the phone was shutting down correctly and I have been able to enter download mode, but now the problem is going on again. I'm on official 2.2 Froyo updated through kies mini. My phone is rooted, but this problem occurred before I rooted.

Sounds like a warranty replacement.
I've had it for over a year. I wonder why it's just now doing this.

I think I have come to a conclusion on why it doesn't seem to shut down completely and would need someone with a captivate that has all fully functional buttons. I believe that since my power button sticks, when the phone vibrates to confirm a shutdown, the capacitive touch button lights will not shut off until the power button is released. So if someone wouldn't mind shutting their phone off while holding the power button and tell me if you can make the lights come on after the vibrate while holding power button? Thanks in advance.

Has anyone experienced their nook will shut off where the only way to restart is to power it back on?
I am running miui.us if it matters.

Yes, it is called Sleep of Death (SOD). It happens when you have wifi set to stay on when the screen turns off. After a while the system will go into deep sleep (as it's supposed to do) but if you have wifi set to also stay on, sometimes it will not wake up. There are workarounds to prevent this, but they are usually not very satisfactory if you want wifi on. Search the forums for discussions on SOD. It affects all newer versions of CM7 including miui.us.
I have this too, also running miui.us. My solution was to set the Nook to never sleep. I tap the power button when I'm done, the screen goes blank, I tap the Nook button or power button to use it again and it pops up in a second. Wifi quickly connects and I'm in business.
