Okay i installed froyo 2.2 on my phone about 2 months ago and at first it ran good. And now sometimes when i hit the home button it lags and then shows my background but nothing else then after a minute all my stuff comes back on the screen. How do i fix this its very irritating.

Is it behaving this way after a restart too? Are u using any task killers/battery managers?
Also, just using "froyo 2.2" does not convey much info. It would be better to mention any custom/kernel u r using. It could be also because u r using underclocking with undervolt that is limiting cpu using its full speed.
U could try clearing out dalvik cache from recovery mode, and check if that speeds it up. Be mindful that after clearing dalvik cache the first boot would always take more time since it has to recreate the same.
Yeah it does it after i restart it. I'm using froyo 2.2 kernal [email protected]#1, i'm using advanced task killer but thats it.
Then I would say do some research and flash a custom kb1 kernel. There is a few with lagfixes and even overclock capability.
When i inatalled froyo it up rooted my phone

So i was running cognition. I was thinking about trying another rom, such as perception so I tried to disable voodoo because ager research I know that needs to be done. However after creating the folder /sdcard/voodoo/disable-lagfix I decided to reboot and try a quadrant just to see of the speed decreased. However I think it was soft bricked because it wouldn't get past the att logo. So of course ego hasn't heard of odin one click, using out flashed back to stock (which reminds me why I left). My question is because after I tried to disable voodoo it froze after reboot, how do I know it is truly turned off like it needs to be to flash another rom. Also, does this soft brick happen from trying to disable voodoo often, or is it just a random anomaly, or just user error. Can't wait for the answers because stock is driving me crazy.

Which version of Cog were you using? Did you try pulling the battery and turning it on again?
edit: also I think if you flashed back fo jf6 using odin you should be fine.

I think it's a common problem. I had that issue too but after I did a battery pull it continued with the conversion. If you flashed to stock with Odin it shouldn't have voodoo anymore.
Patience
When I disabled voodoo on that rom I say at that screen for atlesst 10 minutes. The I heard the vices and all was well

For some reason, disabling lagfix does not work for me. I am new here and I began about 2 days ago by flashing Assonance v5.0 to my Samsung Captivate. It's really nice and I love it a lot!!!!! But like some of the users who flashed to it, it's kinda using up my battery. So I'm taking up a suggestion to install JL3 Modem + xCal 2.1.1. First though, I must disable lagfix.
I reboot into Clockwork recovery and go through the steps: (advanced SpeedMod ULK features>LAGFIX options>Disable lagfix) Then I reboot, then click Restore with Backup. I have done this about 3 times and it doesn't seem to disable. I am assuming that it will stop displaying "Disable lagfix" once it's disabled and display something like "enable lagfix instead". So maybe it really has been disabled? idk, thanks for the help so far, I've been really impressed! Also, somewhere in the process, I lost all my apps, configuration (accounts, sync), and contacts. But I have those backed up so no worries about data loss.
Here are my old posts in the Assonance thread, but I felt like I was hijakcing it with my "can't disable lagfix" hijinks. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=856877&page=204
Sent you a pm. I think it its disabled but you do not realize it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I had a felling that was the case. Was just waiting for someone to say, "oh it does that all the time". Well I might try it when I get out of work. What would happen if I flashed the modem thing without disabling it first ...
Worst case you get stock in boot loop and have to flash stock with odin. I do not think out is likely though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Well, I flashed both of them and nothing really happened ... it booted as normal. I guess it has been applied? Is there anyway to verify. Otherwise thanks, I guess it was disabled ... just wanted to make sure I suppose.
Look for a folder on your sd that says voodoo.
Go to settings, about phone, baseband. What does it say.
Boot back into recovery. Does it bring you to a blue lettered recovery
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Yes recovery is blue, there are only four options. I got there by pressing "go to recovery 2e" or something like that.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
You have the new kernel.
You should still have the update zip from rom manager saved to your sd. If you do not open rom manager and flash clockwork recovery. When in the blue menu select reinstall packages, will have to do this twice, should bring you to green clockwork recovery. You no longer have all of the same options in recovery.
To disable your current lagfix navigate to your voodoo folder on your sd. Create a folder inside named disable-lagfix. Reboot.

Not sure what you are saying. I was just keyring you know that there is a different way to disable three lagfix.
Enjoy, do not change anything unless you e want to

I've been using it all day and it works extremely well. I do believe my battery is much better now, even after a car trip with GPS. Sorry I can't do the quad band test ... should've done it before switching kernals. Thanks though, you helped me a LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

Q4 modem thread, bottom of page 1. How to flash JVK (and certain other moderns) by shoman94
Sent from a place my wife doesn't know about (yet)
it has already disabled....
btw why disabling a lagfix is required.. we all enable it isn't it
its happening all over again , i dont think it has to do with the rom but my fone will suddenly shutdown when idle, and it wont respond unless i remove battery and reinsert it back.
when the fone is turned on, the media scanning will be verrryyyy slow and the fone will be very laggg and when i leave it for scanning the fone started to heat up~!!!
never had this b4 since i bought it
i have to reflaash rom to fix it .
Happened since v9.2 and i thought MAYBE v9.3 wont have the problems but it does ~!
Anyone having this problem?
or iz my fone are ****** up?
You tried a complete reflash? (factory reset - stock fw)
Because if you've a heavy fold in system it isn't enough only to reflash the rom...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
thx for the reply though , i've factory resetted twice by now i think , b4 this never happen
but i didnt went to stock instead i go for darky's odin

So you did a factory reset and then install darkys rom, right?
So i would try factory reset again, flash the stock via odin (repartion on) and then flash darkys rom again.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
okey will do
I also had this problem, I also assumed 9.3 would fix it, before installing 9.3 I even cleared data, system apps, factory reset it, formatted boot and every other option in the voodoo recovery menu that I could clear, then installed 9.3 but still I had it on first day, after that I noticed phone wouldn't respond half way through the day, id take it out of pocket and it wouldn't respond, had to take battery out, then when I got it back on, battery would have dropped by 40-50% , so I cleared battery stats after a full charge, then ran battery right down and fully charged again and haven't had a problem since, battery lasts longer too
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Last time the similar thing occured (hot phone, battery dropping quickly). Something (adb shell -> top) unknown was shown to have the CPU 100% busying. A manually kill cooled down the phone right away but i had no idea what caused that to happen : /
Darky should know the answers .
Best path would be to completely wipe the phone put a stock rom on to get it working . Then pick a rom that does not break your phone .

It's been a while since I've touched my S1. It's been a great journey with Darky's ROM. My English has also improved, I'm typing in full now. When I looked back at my first post, it was awkward and embarrassing to be honest.

I'm having some random reboots when using Juice Defender or Green Power.
They work fine but at random, when they enable 3g/wifi the phone will reboot. It becomes quite annoying....does anyone have this issue or a solution?
anyone?...........
Been using JD for ages, and have never experienced any problems (aprt from having to restart it manually after flashing new kernel).
I use JD Plus, can send you my settings if you like.
What ROM/Kernel you using?
Have you tried re-installing and/or restoring it?
Have you tried fixing your permissions? Clear your cache too.

Stock JVR + CFRoot for right now. I have used both Galaxian and Semaphore and both get reboots.

I did a factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik but havent loaded JD or GP back yet.
I have been getting a lot of force closes on my AT&T LTE tab over the last couple of weeks. Mainly gmail, Android browser and the google services framework.
Is anyone else seeing this same issue?
I rooted the tab back in December, but haven't had any issues outside this recent spat of fcs.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using XDA App
I havent seen this.
Did you install CWM? if so you can try fixing permissions.
I get the same issue. orlando where do you change the permissions at in the file system?
You can fix permissions with CWM recovery.
Are you guys using the regular root kernel, or the OC kernel?
This stumps me, because I cant figure out why it would work fine for a month and then start to have FCs.
If you have CWM try clearing your cache and dalvik.
Since the tablet is so similar to the skyrocket, I would suggest reading this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386234
*dont do what the OP says though, just read it for info*
This also may be of help, but it would have to be modified. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487706
I don't have a clear answer at this time.

I am running the normal root kernel, and no cwm installed.
I will read those threads, try the cwm permissions fix, and report back.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using XDA App
My force closes only happened after installing the OC with the LIB's pushed. I did the permissions fix and cleared the cache and dalvik. I'll let you know how it goes.
Hmmm. Started getting FC on YouTube now. Also am on stock. Not sure what happened but has been like this since yesterday. Not getting any other FC's though.

this is weird indeed.
The YouTube issue is widespread across tabs.
Yup I'm experiencing the same issues with Youtube. I didn't pay attention to Youtube because I don't watch videos via Youtube on my tab that often.
Looks like YouTube issue was fixed last night for tablets. This might not resolve OP but thought might be linked hence brought it up.

I have been talking to thederekjay, and he has written a tool for a more complete wipe than CWM can provide.
read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487706
I checked out the script and the partitions are the same.
I am thinking that maybe running this after flashing clockworkmod and the custom kernel would aleviate FC's if multiple people are having them.
I dont know though, and the tool needs to be tested. I will let you know what he says.
EDIT: He said this should work. I sent him the output from my adb shell mount with partition layout.
I used the script. it ran fine.
really scary when i flashed the stock rom through odin and it froze at the ATT logo. wouldnt boot past.
i booted into 3e recovery and wiped data factory reset and it worked fine after that. feels slightly faster but that just might be a placebo effect.

yea its fixed.
my only suggestion to the other people seeing force closes is to maybe flash stock, and root without using a custom kernel....

I am getting a massive amount of force closes on my i957. Stock kernel with cwm and root only. Fixing permissions in cwm does nothing and neither does rom manager. Incredibly annoying.
