I use citrix to access a online program on a pc and have tried it on an ipad, but can't get it to work under android. I usually download the ica file from here -crlaurence.com/shower/showerapp.ica- I can open it but citrix just closes.
I would like to start using my table instead of a laptop. Any help would be appreciated.
It sounds like citrix isnt playing nice. Do you get any errors? Can you post a log of what happens? Is the citrix server set up to connect to android?

I think that it might not be set up for android. No error just says please wait, then it goes away.

PhoneMyPC works for me. I can view live and interact live. Haven't tried anything else. When I remoted in I noticed that the NC keyboard didn't pop up automatically. I use Button Savior to access the PhoneMyPC menu and was able to select the keyboard that way.

Its not that it sucked, I guess... just didn't have the functionality I wanted.
TeamViewer
Just tried the Android app, which youll have to get from the website an sideload, but a quick run though of the app went smooth an seemed just as good as the PC version.
Logmein works well as a remote desktop tool.
I'd recommend TeamViewer b/c with it you can connect to any computer running it. Very helpful for tech support.
Link is here: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewer.apk
phonemypc wont work when lappy is connected to projector..
moving on to LogMeIn, and if that fails... Teamviewer.
thanks for the info buds
I use remotedroid on my phone ... have not tried it yet on the nook but that may be an option.

I also use RemoteDroid and it's so much better on the NC rather than my Droid. The larger screen just makes it so much easier to navigate accurately.
Logmein ran slow. So I installed teamviewer and its sweeeet.
May try remotedroid, but tviewr is doing great currently
// from the nook
Open vnc. It works with my evo so i assume it will work with nook.

Another vote for Teamviewer, pretty sweet.
If you have the ability to set up a vnc client on the target PC, I would recommend openvnc, if not than use teamviewer.
alright, so i installed and got the vnc stuff running, but i cant get any remote input working
im using tightvnc and android-vnc-viewer, and the only input it lets me use is trackball, which the nook obviously lacks. the other input options are greyed out so i cant select anything else.
bug with PhoneMyPC
Be careful with PhoneMyPC PC software.
Software: PhoneMyPC PC software 32bit version 2.0.2.2
OS: Window 7 Ult w/ SP1
I was looking for a remote desktop app that can pass through NAT network, when I have no rights to configure port mapping.
Just tried PhoneMyPC and uninstalled the PC software. I found that I cannot connect to L2TP VPN on my desktop anymore! error code 789. After system restore I managed to roll back and able to connect to that L2TP VPN again.
I tried it on two desktops, same problem.
I am going to try TeamViewer or Logmein.
I'll throw out another option - Unified Remote -it works really well...very fast and a lot of pre-configured controls for common applications. I love it.
Make sure you get the latest version RC2 as it's way better than the market one.

Splashtop works good but that's more of a remote option,

I use Unified Remote. It does require you install the software on your pc but it works great. It also has built-in remotes for VLC, Powerpoint and many other programs.
Anyone have anyluck with Tonidoid?
I have installed the desktop software and the android app but it keeps giving me an error when logging in that i need the most current version of both when i try to log in from phone. I can access from the web on a remote computer fine.
worked fine for me from phone.
Thanks. Must be my desktop setup. Least it gives me a place to start

Hi, I have tried to install teamviewer (version 6.0.170) to my LG optimus 2X. When I launch it on my phone, it just gives me a black screen and I have to force close it. it used to work well on my old motorola milestone.
May I know which version of teamviewer do you use? Can you send me the apk?
Thank you very much.
Hi,
I use 2x client, with very good results.
Best Remote desktop tool!
Hey There,
Im working a Lot with Remote desktop programs!
Just because.. Its possible!! And there're getting better and faster!
Ive bought, PhoneMyPc a half year ago, which has I think the best way of navigating through your Pc.
Im using SplashTop which is the best for viewing streaming media (Video&Audio) on my phone. Which working unbelievable good!
Also using that one on my Asus Epad!
Its the fastest remote desktop tool I used!
Sometimes I use LogMein because that program really shows everything what is happening on your desktop screen. When your starting up a game.. Not intent to do that, PhonemyPc and Splashtop are giving a black screen, while logmein, is showing you the game. It slow, but it works.
Also Logmein is working almost Everywhere!! Through every proxy etc! While PhonemyPc and Spashtop having some trouble when your in a business environment or heavvy protected area.
We just have splashtop some more time! I think.
Thats why, when Ive to chose one. I'll go for Splashtop!
Greetzz..

Hi all,
Has anyone had luck with the lan connection in File Manager HD, from your Xoom to your PC? I have a shared folder on my PC from which I would like to transfer some pictures to my Xoom. I"m missing something as the connection fails. The permissions on the PC are right, I believe. Do I need to enable an FTP or smb server on my win 7 laptop? I need the abillity for wifi transfers to and from my zoom so any other app recommendations are appreciated.
TIA,
Jim

I don't have problems with SMB transfer from both File Manager HD nor ES File Explorer... usually, the key is the login credentials... you'll probably have to check the settings in your Desk pc (maybe firewall too)... as long they're correct and you're in the same LAN, it should not be a problem
(it could be much faster, but at least it works...)
Now I'm using File Expert on my Zoom and an FTP client on my Win7 machine. I'm still trying to get FM HD to work. I've tried every networking trick I know and that is quite. A few.
I'll post back here as soon as I do.

I am using ES File Manager and the obvious needed checking, IP Address (check), LOGON credentials (I forgot I had to log on to the PC so Username and Password)(check). I have my D:\ shared in Windows so maybe that is the missing link ?
I get a connection and all the folders that show up are empty. The folder names, however, are correct.

Do you mean tun.ko? its the vpn tunnel kernel module. Are you rooted?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
I am rooted and on 3.2 update. I have any connect installed, but when I go to connect get an error saying I don't have the tun.ko drivers.
I have tried both Kernals that are available, and even installed the tun.ko file with them, and still can't connect.
Of course the only iPad in the office can connect with no issues

Jumping in, with your indulgence please, as this is related. Where did you find the Anyconnect client for the Xoom? I'm not looking for warez. But, I asked our IT folks and they didn't know of one. If there's a legit source for it, I'd appreciate a pointer please. They directed me to try using the built-in VPN configurations (either of the ipsec protocols) but no joy yet...
On a whim, and after some further reading on a Cisco forum, I tried to download and install the new Samsung version of Anyconnect which is on the market. Unfortunately, installation fails. Just letting others know in case they were thinking of trying the same thing. BTW, I'm stock 3G.
So, still no VPN joy with my work's Cisco setup...

anyconnect for root users
That's the one I've tried, but I think there's something wrong on the server side as I can't connect at present.
I do know on the back end your Cisco ASA has to have the mobility license in order to be able to connect with your tablets.
We just installed this, but so far only i-Pads are able to connect
I might have to make the jump over to Tiamats new ROM, but want to wait till a few more bugs are worked out with it.
I was really hoping the Xoom was going to be able to connect with VPN, guess that's just not the case yet.
Ken~
This installs fine for me (awesome, i didn't know cisco finally put this out). However, I can't figure out how to tell it what Certificate to use. Anyone know?
I got this working with help from a friend... basically the problem is that the documentation sucks hard. Anyconnect doesn't use the android certificate store, you need to import the cert into the Anyconnect certificate store. To do that, I stuck this webpage up on my webserver:
Code:
<html>
anycon
</html>
Then go ahead and connect to that webpage and click the link. Anyconnect will pop up and allow you to import a certificate called mycert.p12 that is on the root of your sdcard.
