CM7 is already running on ext4, it doesnt require lagfix or anything because the only option is ext4. there is no RFS/EXT2/JFS ect.....

so what should i do to get my ext sd working?

Solved..you need to flash a firmware with a bootloader included, i flashed I9000XWJM2 with odin 1.82 and s1_odin_20100803.pit, with bootloader update option enabled (if after flashing you have the recovery, wipe cache and data to reboot in normal mode). then flash cm7 like the first time and the external sd will be working

Apps2SD

Hey guys i recently rooted and installed Cyanogen mod and is currently up to date and running fine. However i didnt partition my SD and now my phone is just about out of space. If i partition my SD will it automatically port my apps to the card? Or will have to reinstall them all?
Yes, apps2sd is automatic in cyanogen roms.

just make sure to reflash the rom so it will run the a2sd script. no need to wipe just flash the rom after you partition your sdcard

Ah cool, didn't know you had to reflash.
I'm about to install 4.0.4 Update to Cyanogen..would that count as reflashing?
Yea it counts.
all I did was a data wipe after I partitioned my card and redownloaded the apps, everything works fine.

The benefits to format the internal sdcard is to clean it from bad data.
Its also wise to do a factory reset and wipe the cache.
You do loose all your data so you need to backup your apps.
Then you don't have old settings from 2.1 that can mess with your system.

I updated to 2.2 and then 2.2.1 but i can still see file from the old 2.1...
Both times i upgraded my hone was stuck so i did factory reset but no farmat.
If i do it now will i have to flash again or the system will stay as it is?

Don't bother formatting.. Factory reset should be enough. There is a remote possibility as Damian mentioned that wiping the contents (you don't even need to format it) might help, but not sure if it will..
You get a clean system.
There will be alot of old file that's not needed and its wast of space.
It had been proven time after time that a format will be good after an upgrade.
you don't need to reflash.

[Q] sdcard help!

i was running cos-ds when i decide to try a new kernel: auto-boot-2.6.35.13-farmatito-pershoot-ds-BFS+-20110518 (1).zip . So i went to recovery (cwm) wiped cache partition and installed the kernel from the file menu. when i rebooted all my apps had gone since they had been on the sd-ext. when i checked the sd-ext under settings>storage and scroll down to sd-ext it says unavailable. so im wondering if i wasnt supposed to flash it via recovery. the previous times iv tried flashing a kernel it has worked. how do i get my apps back? is the sd corrupte and do i hsve to re partition? what do i do?
well im no pro on flashing kernels but im pretty sure your supposed to flash them after flashing a rom.... so maybe thats something to do with it...? since you lost all your apps anyway try to re flash rom than that kernel right after and see if anything happens... maybe you need to have a specific ext... 2,3,4 who knows.. lol sorry for your troubles

Sometime it's best to wipe the SD card and re-partition your SD card. I tipically do it when I flash a new ROM. Then re-install the apps.

i agree!!! every once in a while its a good idea to re partition your sd card because it's more like a complete wipe. sometimes ill even do an mtd removal here and there.. (i use custom mtd for my SenseLX rom )

[Help] Internal SD card failure

Well, I can say that I spent hours on hours trying to search for a solution with no luck,
The internal sd card of my Galaxy S GT-I9000 is corrupt.
I get E: format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 when im trying to format without sdcard inserted.
What I have managed to get after doing everything I can from my own knowlage and from the internet:
100% Working phone with ICS 4.0.3 only with 2 partitioned sd card(reiserfs and fat)
did everything in here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31017954
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdMhYYdMB08
also flashed multi-csc firmware with pit(JVU/JVZ) after format everything(except /boot) through CWM with no luck.
main goal:
100% Working phone WITHOUT SD CARD
I thought maybe someone could tell me if this could be solved within software itself or only FLASH IC replacement?
got linux and windows systems so guides with commands involved wont be a problem.
THANK YOU!

INTERNAL /SDCARD please read!
Just reflash from KDZ if you can't access the /sdcard folder from recovery. I've never heard of this happening on our device, so I wouldn't take the risk of playing with it if I were you.

u can format it in recovery mode. at least in team win recovery there is a choise to format data. after format , reboot in recovery and the sdcard is mounted. if it doesnt mount , u can do it manually again in recovery. this is not even a problem. its like in linux u mount the /home directory. the disk is always there u just have to let the system "know" that this part is used as "home". same here. u let the phone know that this here is the sdcard. so go ahead and format it ,reboot. if not fixed then mount it manually.

Caps off badass 12GB internal storage is showed as sdcard and additional sd card is external sd card you can format them both from CWM.Also you cna try to manually mount it from there. Also you can try deleting data and format system.Next time you want help be shure to know what is problem and what you want. Also try to use english language to describe it
Thanks for advice guys but after reflashing with official lg mobile Support tool still a bootloop, then finally got to format /data partition via stock recovery and voila its back again working ! Its a weird corruption on 4X tough.
