I recently ordered the 2000mAh slim battery for my HTC Evo Shift by Galilio. I did a little bit of research and people with different phones (Rhodium, Hero, Supersonic) were saying that they noticed a little bit of a difference between their battery life after using this battery(could just be a placebo affect, who knows?). It advertises as 2000mAh but I know it probably won't be the full 2000mAh. I'm assuming that it's probably just a little bit more than 1500mAh. I just fully charged it and I'm going to see how long is lasts me.

I'm at 29% so far and this is what my battery use says on CM7 RC. I'm also using Scary Kernel with the Scary profile with my max clock speed set to 1.5GHz. This is with moderately heavy usage and a little over 2 hours of talk time. I notice a significant difference overall.

So you've noticed a significant increase in charge time then? Making it worth the $25 or w/e it ends up being.
I think it was worth it.
I didn't look at the up time on that. That's some good battery life for not having the super extended $90 one.
Any chance you can test it on a sense rom. I wonder if it would perform even better on a sense rom since cm7 has that phone-signal problem that drains the battery a bit.
i dont need a signature
Yeah its pretty good especially with my heavy usage. I figure I could have gotten an extra 12 hours on it but I get nervous everytime my battery life dips below 30%.

I am considering buying this but just had one question. Is it safe to put in a 2000mAh bat vs the stock 1400 one?
I figured it was just a larger capacity so it wouldn't have any problems but I was just curious because I'm not familar at all with this sort of question.

in theory, putting a higher capacity battery shouldn't be a problem. what you have to worry about is the quality of the battery itself.

Totally different phone but it uses the same battery, as does the HTC Hero. It seems that HTC likes to use the same battery for most of their phones, someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but it seems that way to me.
I ordered 2 of these myself, one for mine and one for my wife's Shift, so hopefully they work great. Better life has been great as it is, but a little more is not a bad idea.

Since the Motorola Defy uses the same battery as the Droid X, you can order a 1750 mah battery here at http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi17mtdx.htm for way better life.
anyone tried yet?
Theoretically, then we could also use battery from Motorola Atrix which uses a massive 1900mah. No?
The Droid X battery is a BH5X
The Defy is a BF5X (at least the uk one I have is)
I'm not saying they wont fit the Defy, but it would be nice know from someone who has tried if they do,before stumping up the cash?
There is a BH6X Motorola extended battery
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTbb2f81_HI
This might fit also?
UPDATE
OK it looks like the Droid X battery has flat contacts,
and the Defy has the blades that fits into slots in the battery.
So even though its the same physical size and shape it
won't fit without a bit of serious hacking?
So clever of Motorola to make each of their products so individual and different. You cant help but feel a little special
in owning one. ;-)
BH5X
http://www.trait-tech.com/product/T-BH-5X/
that would be very nice as battery life is allready quite tidy on the defy, dont see why it shouldnt work tho might give it a try
Perhaps we can ask tenfar or another chinese from this forum who know if there exist good batteries in china...

I have this one, arrived in a few days, charger seems to work fine, batteries fit and work but build quality is lacking (pushing battery into charger causes the end of the battery to flex and come away from the inside).
As for time, I've only tried once since I received it the other day and it seems to last about half a day.
Good and cheap for backups, but no good as replacements.

Yes. Very reliable and quality batteries. The do what they are suppose to. They say if something can be done or not, and that is rare. I've seen them say a Desire HD 1800 battery was in the works (like the ones you can find on Ebay), but after trial and error, they scrapped it because it didn't meet their standards. They could have just made it, and made money off it, but they took the high road. I would buy from them anytime.

Firstly, thanks for the link.
Secondly, has anyone ordered/tried one of these yet?
Whilst it's not a huge increase in capacity, an extra ~10% if it doesn't require a larger/distended battery cover wouldn't be too shoddy.
And I'm guessing that since the product page states 'Battery Door - Not Required', that means it uses the standard battery cover?
Just wanted to point out that the original battery is now available on the Motorola EU store online http://www.motorolastore.eu/de/p_motorola_product.aspx?i=207650

Rom-CM 7.0.3
Kernel- Tiamat 4.0.3
I use my phone quite a bit being in the IT field and I can usually get about 28 hours off a full charge. All the nightlies I've used have been roughly the same but figured I shoot you the stable first to try out.
Edit: lol took to long to type looks like jrk beat me.
If you head over to the Droid Incredible Accessories Forum, there is a lot of discussion about extended batteries and their effectiveness.
Otherwise, Pick a stable rom like Skyraider Sense 4.0 or Athena 1.2 (along with many other ROMs), get SetCPU and set a profile to reduce cpu usage while the screen is off
I'm having good luck with the stock software just I replaced the kernel with chads incredikernel and I must say wow huge difference. My stock battery will last all day and then some and my extended seidio 3500mah will run almost 3 days..
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
If you want to keep the sense interface, Skyraider is working great on my wife's dinc. If the vanilla android interface is cool, then CM7 is certainly the way to go. Also I'm getting noticeable improvement using the 1900mAH bat that fits in the stock case. Though I am still testing.
what profiles do you make in SetCPU? I tried it out while using Nils Business Gingersense, but it seemed to be killing my battery more than saving...
Using incredikernel I don't set any profiles as the "smartass" governor in the kernel handles sleep on its own

I've been a devout LG fan... VX6000, VX9800, VX10000 until I got my DInc. Never had issues with LG, but their Android offerings suck on VzW. Now I've got huge respect for HTC, and a strong but dormant love for LG.
As far as battery life... try stuff out. Every phone reacts differently with different kernels and ROMs, not to mention the fact that batteries and hardware - although semi-standard in manufacturing - can have variances at the microscopic level. Trial and error is your best bet. I do about the same with any AOSP kernel and CM7 nightlies... though some run smoother than others.
Tapatalk Pro Sig. Yep, boring.
MIUI beats CM7 hands down on battery life with incredikernel..

Agreed, I think OP should take a look here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA
and I guess, to help answer the question.
Top ROM choices:
1) SkyRaider - if you like Sense UI and stock, this is a very popular choice
2) CM7 - If you like to have all the latest and best from Android OS, if you like extra features- this is for you. Quite stable, though some nightlies may have bugs, usually fixed quickly.
3) MIUI - Unique expirence, some compare it to the iPhone. Really though, it's a very nice UI with many great looking skins to get with it.
Top Kernel choices:
If you're using a sense ROM like Skyraider, make sure your using a sense kernel.
1) Chad's incerikernel - he has different versions for Sense and AOSP, both are really great on battery with still nice performance and stability.
2) Tiamat's kernel

I have the 1600mAh one, I bought a pair on ebay for $16 US back in Oct or so.
I started using it in the Desire Z and it's also compatible with the Incredible S so I put it in there too.
I've only been using my Incredible S on ICS builds / Virtuous Quattro so I can't comment on battery life really so far.. but on my Desire Z I saw a boost to battery life from ~1300mAh stock HTC battery, I got around 20-24 hours. With this, I get around 30+ hours days with medium-light use on CM7-based roms.
With Virtuous roms I got like 10% less battery (due to Sense)

For $8 a battery and +4-6 hours depending on your use, yes I'd say its definitely a steal. You don't have to shell out $30+ US for the extended version.
I have used it great for 3.5 months. It may be cheaper if you can did it on eBay. Anker's eBay name is laptopmate-USA.
These anker batteries seem high quality types, not the junk china stuff that can softbrick phones. I had that experience on my G1.
Edit make sure it is the white anker. I wouldn't trust anyone else other than HTC!
I appreciate your explanation, thanks!
But what do you mean as white ones only?
I was looking to get a black one, as it would suit my Desire S better.

PS. I can finally give an opinion on the battery life in the incredible S. I am on second day in virtuous quattro ICS RC2 and currently with 1 day 1 hr with 24% remaining.
Hope that helps!

So does it feels better than original 1450mAh battery? Im looking for spare right now...
Just ordered the 1600mah one and will report back on it if you want.
oh yeah, forgot to respond back to this thread. Using the 1600mAh anker:
I got about ~20-24 hours on Virtuous Quattro RC3 using light/medium usage, charge is once a day.
With CM7, I get about 30-35 hours with medium/light usage including idling. I could do 40 hours easily if I don't use the phone very much except for very light calls or texting.
-I drain about 2-3% for 8 hours of pure idling (while sleeping).
-I get around -18mAh drain the lowest according to Battery widget.

Is this a notable risk with these aftermarket batteries? Can anyone comment on the likelihood of this occurring with the Anker batteries, or is it a case of 'if it works fine for a few cycles it's not going to softbrick my phone'.
Cant help but feel wary with a product so cheap! Why wouldn't HTC make their batteries to this standard I wonder.

Wow - so you guys really think that the stock battery at less than half the capacity of the seidio extended battery can get the same results with the same usage. You're stating that on your phone the laws of physics don't apply? What kind of crack are you smoking?
I have the seidio as well. There is no way that the stock battery can compare. It's simply not possible to get 3500 mAh of usage out of a 1500 mAh battery. You might be able to extend the life of your stock battery by crippling your phone with limited functions, apps, and usage, or a better rom that is more efficient, but side by side you will never be able to match the extra capacity. Throw that seidio in your tweaked phone and the life will be doubled.
We were comparing his results to ours. I get that kinda battery life on my stock battery and no I'm not smoking crack

Got a link for a test of a seidio that didn't perform? Perhaps you've been reading reviews of cheap knockoff batteries.
Here's a link to testing that proves just how much extra capacity they do have. Seidio isn't the particular one, but this one appears to be high quality.

Now pardon me while I make sweet love to my battery. With the extra capacity I can set it on vibrate for a long long time.

First is most interesting as it appears to be HTC branded and quotes OEM. The M8 battery as I understood it was only 2600Mah so kind of curious if this is an HTC part for the M8 why it's a larger capacity at 3300Mah?
What gets me thinking more is whether this could explain why some get really good battery life and others can't get anywhere near that. Perhaps different variations have different sized batteries??
Edit: This is the original battery:

Maybe it's for the new One M8 Max
The aliexpress link says it's for HTC m8 one max so I doubt it's meant for our phone

Nothing is non-removable. It's just not end user removable (least not easily).

Yet the first link plus the YouTube video clearly says it's for the M8.

Ignore the second link for now. The first link still lists it as if it were for the M8 which is weird..
I've been looking at these batteries too.....I cant get any clear info about whather or not they fit in the m8. My suspicion is that the battery is actually meant for the MAX and it is mislabeled, but if anyone knows differently please correct me. I would throw one of these in my m8 in a heartbeat!
Its not for the m8.
This is just a regular HTC One Max battery
Beware guys !

thats my only gripe with the m8. the dodgy battery life. hopefully the m9 fixes this along with android L.

You might have a reception issue, or some runaway processes or apps.
7 hours of screen time is pretty normal for this phone, and very reasonable for a current smartphone.
Is there a larger capacity battery available? It was my only hesitation when buying the phone as after a year the battery always needs replacing and wasn't sure how much it would cost/how difficult it would be?

You can't get more capacity without more volume. Anyone that says otherwise is ignorant, a liar,or is discussing a prototype battery chemistry. Good luck fitting a larger battery.

So you've bumped a three year old thread to add nothing to it.

That is true, however as you might've noticed this 3300mAh battery is for HTC One Max and will not fit in M8.
Some users have reported that M8s and M9 battery (both 2840mAh) fit inside M8 and work properly. The difference in battery life is unnoticeable though.

I have seen 3300mAh batteries lurking in AliExpress and even bought one for myself since my battery had issues. The battery eventhough boasts a 3300mAh, I think it only has 2600mAh because I didn't notice any change in the battery life. But the product is working as expected.
Here's the link to the battery which I bought.
Ok, there are fake batteries all around, so 2600-2840 max, but I know for other htc devices the batteries which looks original as the pic below used to be fake too, anyone reliable?
