Hey guys/girls,
i've always liked having transparent widgets for dark backgrounds and stuff and i just wanted to share the stuff i've made transparent. It's not perfect but it's a start!
I'm sure its out there on the themes forum and what not, but just for convenience i'll post it here!
I've attached the GenieWidget along with the new music player that Google released... 3.0 something.
don't ask me about the syncing with accounts not working cause i do not touch that side of things.
I've also attached a modified Mms.apk, with a dark input bar; i just think it looks better with the transition between the input and the keyboard since the stock keyboard's candidates bar is black.
Hope you guys and enjoy, and don't forget to hit thanks!
in order to install do the following
plug in your usb cable
boot into CWM
scroll down to mounts and storage
press mount system
then go to the startbar on your computer and in the search type in
cmd
and then hit enter
then enter the following in the cmd.exe
adb shell
rm /system/app/Mms.apk
rm /system/app/GoogleMusic.apk ---> may also be called Music.apk if you're using CM7
rm /system/app/GenieWidget.apk
exit
adb push GenieWidget.apk /system/app/
adb push MusicGoogle.apk /system/app/
adb push BlackBarMms.apk /system/app/Mms.apk
exit
now unmount system on your Nexus and then reboot and re-add the widgets if you need to!

are you using adb or just straight installing? cause you have to use adb or root explorer to install it.

Can you make flashable *.zip file for each apk? I'd love to install black theme mms.apk, but I can't push it via adb.

Here it is! A working apk of the My Water live wallpaper from the transformer.
Download the file then place it in system/app with Root Explorer (or whatever file explorer program you use) and change the permissions to what the rest are set at. I'm also attaching the Weather widget from the Transformer as well. If you want any other things the Transformer has let me know and I'll grab em. Credit goes to dc13 from the Transformer forum for deodex'ing the Rom so we can all enjoy this.
Screenshot below of the live wallpaper and Weather widget. I tried to get the screenshot app to work, but no luck. Most likely due to it being located and tied in with the Settings menu...
If you get "INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES" error on tiamat 1.4 or any other Honeycomb device, install the Weather_signed and MyWater_signed apk's that were provided by shift_
Added the default Asus Transformer wallpaper as well. It's the tree one.
I just rar'd up the whole /app/ folder. That way everyone can grab whatever else they want, and test them individually and maybe get some more things going. These aren't going to be signed, though. So they will need to be pushed to /system/app with Root Explorer or ADB. You can sign them yourselves, though! I use an Auto-Signer, I'll post that if needed.
Here is a video of the live wallpaper in action. Thanks to Clipp for this! http://www.smartkeitai.com/asus-transformers-water-live-wallpaper-available-for-motorola-xoom-video/

You don't install the apk. You manually move it to /system/app with Root Explorer or any other File Manager and set the permissions..

edit: ok, i just read the above posts... if my post is still relevant, let me know
sano614,
on tiamat 1.4, i got the "INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES" error, so i signed the apks and installed them successfully. would it be ok if i uploaded the signed apks on here? or i can pm them to you so you can update your op?
For Sense 2.1 only
So i thought i'd share my mod on HTC's flip clock. I removed the widget's background thanks to Biffa's help, but i also removed the weather icon to create a more simplistic and minimal effect on my homescreen. It should be noted, the weather icon is not visible, but it's still clickable so you can still click that general area and bring up the weather forecast.

Instructions to install for HTC default skin:
-Remove any HTC clock widgets you currently have on homescreens (to be safe)
-Reboot to Recovery
-In Clockwork Recovery go to "Mounts and Storage", click "Mount /System"
-Go back and flash as usual
Update
Added apks to allow this mod to work with Krzysiec's PureBlack theme and PureBlack Expresso theme.
Instructions to install for PureBlack and Expresso:
-Install Transparent_NoWeather_HtcClock.zip as described above.
-Download either PureBlackSkin.zip or ExpressoSkin.zip below and place on SD.
-Uninstall your PureBlack or Expresso theme if you already have it installed from Manage Applications and change to another theme (like default HTC).
-Reboot to CWM, go into "Mounts and Storage" and mount /System.
-Go back and flash the apk as usual.
-Boot up and choose the theme.
Note: Ignore the text that comes up during flashing, that's from my keyboard mod script. Couldn't be bothered to change it
Cheers, have DL already for flash tomorrow. Not up-to-date backing up.
Just noted that links to your keyboard & clock mods don't work in the signature.
Edit: If Lee brings out Sense 3, do you think you could do another please?
Thanks for the heads up!
Of course i would make a Sense 3 version, or at least try because the clock widgets are pretty different from Sense 2.1 and Sense 3.0

For premium, do you have to decompile the apk to swap the res folder? I tried to cut the original res out of the apk, but Root Explorer wouldn't allow it.
i just moved the apk from phone to PC
right-clicked opened with with winrar
delete the res folder and drag drop new res folder
put back on phone
download signapktic from market it will resign the apk so you can install normal
or just move to system/app and set permission same as other apps

Installation instructions [Theme]:
1. Go to Settings -> About Phone
2. If you can't find anything about CM10, AOKP or CM9
you probably have no use for this theme.
It is designed for CM10 but it works on CM9 too. (Not everything though)
3. Install theme
4. Go to Settings -> Themes
5. Apply theme: WP7 RED
6. Restart your device if not everything is showing.

Installation instructions [Bootanimation]:
1. Download the bootanimation in your screensize
2. change filename to bootanimation.zip
3. Move file to sdcard
4. Open your root file explorer and mount it as R/W
5. Move the file to /system/media/ and replace your current
6. Reboot and you will see your new bootanimation!
(If you have adb on your computer)
3. Put bootanimation.zip in your adb directory
4. Locate the correct directory with CMD
cd [your adb path]
5. adb remount
6. adb push bootanimation.zip system/media/
7. Reboot and you will see your new bootanimation!

Maybe need ext4 partition..? However make sure you have enough system space, not only the necessary. Ie: 20 mb free an accuwidget is 20 mb. It wil fit well but if it needs to create some cache files it cant do it because of no space.
