Got home from work to find my norève leather case for the Tab in the mail. If you've never seen one, it's this one: http://www.gearzap.com/noreve-tradition-leather-case-for-samsung-galaxy-tab.html
Fits very nicely. Snug fit, very smooth high quality leather, good sewing and the flip-out stand seems very stable. Looks quite neat, too. I'm positively impressed.
me too, excelent quality.
Thanks for the review rapax, I'm ready to get one now
They just sent me an email saying my order status has been changed to "awaiting arrivals"... what the hell does that mean?
Anyone know if there are other cases available? Here in Russia its impossible to even contact noreve - their site is managed by a third party.
EDIT: They just told me it would be three weeks before they shipped. Bummer.

Did you order different color from black???
i then sent them a letter asking if they had any other colors... sorry no was the reply
as far as i can tell they are the only retailer in russia selling a case for the tab - but the only stock they have will arrive in three weeks
probably just a direct translation of the global site
Jesus wept! 54 quid?!?
I've never used a smiley in my life, but
Hi there.
Mine arrived today, and it isn't the same model as mentioned in the first post of this topic.
The closure isn't magnetic on mine, replaced by a strong snap fastener.
The stand has changed. It's a very thin yet strong metal part that "sticks" well to the case thanks to 2 magnetic points, see how it works on the pics attached.
The "Quality boxed packaging" isn't the same quality as my past norêve products: a simple soft white cardboard packaging with black norêve logo replaced the usual navy blue/silver logo gift box.
Great leather and build quality, the minimum for that price.
Used to prefer Noreve previously but they don't wear well. . . The magnetic clasp part was the first to go, the button fell off..then the whole clasp and the top leather flap where it used to bend kind of wore out...shoddy construction...happened with both my cases...so I stoppedbordering it...

Happy with mine. . .
Ordered 3 days before christmas. . .arrived 10 am today.. .perfect fit. . Good leather quality. . Value for money absolutely fine. . Will be interesting tosee how it looks in a few weeks of daily use.
Can someone please let me know how much the Noreve case sells for in US dollars? Thanks so much in advance!
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Just Google/Bing for the current exchange rate, it changes all the time. A good rough estimate is about $1.6 to the £. So really rough and going high if it's £60 it'd be $96, and I'd imagine a little more for shipping to the US than whatever the site quotes.

I would stay away from ROO cases. I had one for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 white and it left two marks on the back of it, where it seemed to have rubbed the finish off.

I like this guy. Deadmau5 pic and demanding genuine leather! I'm hoping for a case from these guys: http://www.vajacases.com/ - Got one for my PlayBook last year and it's awesome.
Shame they got shipped and delivered to the UK first yet there are very few accessories released here yet. Will be a while until we have a genuine leather case with the 'smart' magnetic bit.
that case has been on sale for years. it's so ugly. Giant leather bondage strap holding down your nexus 7? ugly.
I picked up a leather smart case similar to this one at Big Lots for $8.00. High quality material ! They have lots of 7" case options there for a budget price......scrarch resistant screen protectors , stylus pens , bluetooth speakers etc....
BigLots. com serach the left hand side by ELECTRONICS to see their tablet stuff.
I say patience is a virtue. We all know the tablet for what it is. You either like it or you don't. Most of us have already pre--ordered and are waiting for them to arrive right now.
As far as the caes go, I'd rather feel what they're like in my hand. Via pictures of cases online, 10 look great for ipad and other devices, however only 1-2 actually feel and function as nice as they seem to be described and pictured online.(not cheap feeling, or feeling like they'l literally fall apart, lacking features cleverly not pictured, etc.

For me none of the cover/cases on Amazon (I was at the local Best Buy to take a look at 7" stuff) are aesthetically pleasing. I ordered a "padded pouch" off Etsy.com and I'm gonna get a sturdy "case" when one becomes available.

Wow, those Vaja cases look cool. Way too pricey though.
you lost me at vegan leather.
Just got this info off the Portenzo Facebook Page! Pricing has not been announced yet but I'll be looking forward to it!
Portenzo cases for the Nexus 7 will be live for ordering tomorrow and the first orders will begin to ship on Friday!
https://www.facebook.com/Portenzo
EDIT: Pricing has now been confirmed at $39.99 (introductory price)

EDIT:
I ended up going with the composition case.

I may be blind (must stop doing that naughty stuff ), but I couldn't find a link to the N7 product range from the portenzo main page .
Anyway, here's a direct link: https://shop.portenzo.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=bookcase-for-nexus
Look pretty stunning, not too bulky. BUT not cheap! Particularly if you're shipping internationally.
I think I may get one...
/edit: Notes/warning
1. Introductory offer starting at $39.95 so 10 bucks off.
2. I've read some pretty negative reviews about delivery time and customer service (from iCrap discussions) - a month or more to get the case, company deletes negative reviews and warnings about delivery times etc. So. Premium may come at a price that is more than just dollars!
edit2: Oh dear: Not what you'd expect for such a premium product: http://insofar.org/blog/portenzo-ipad-case/
Aww man it doesn;t have all the options like the ipad ones :|

That was an interesting review. I love the book style cover and I guess after a year the case starts to wear out. I've read mostly positive reviews about their cases and only complaints really was about shipping time issues. Either way I think I'm going to give them a shot. Just emailed them about prices for the other style cases.

Amazing product my case is still intact today, im totally going to get one for my nexus
wow these cases are expensive. I might invest i'm not sure yet...
Nice looking case and a little cheaper than Treegloo.
I think the mark of a good company is not necessarily an excellent product, but what they do when things go wrong. It seems that this is where Portenzo falls a bit short. And a 90 day warranty? If you're pitching something as a 'premium' product, and you're only prepared to offer 3 months on that superior workmanship, what are you saying to your customers ?
I don't have a lot of respect for iSheeps - they're generally little lambs being led to the slaughter with wallets held in front, and I'm just a bit wary that this is a company that takes this into account :silly:.
Having said that, I have ordered one - it's the kind of case I'm looking for, so I'm going to take a chance. Will review as soon as it arrives (and also comment on speed of production & delivery). They claim that they'll be shipping the first ones by Friday, but I assume these will be a batch that they've pre-made and it'll be to people who just happen to have ordered what they predict will be the most popular format...
Probably gonna end up keeping treegloo. Treegloo looks slightly nicer. Also has a yellow cloth inside to protect the screen.
I'd be all for Portenzo if they had a composition book style for the Nexus 7. I'd also like a better warranty.

I emailed too. Heard back today that there will not be a composition case. Bummer! I'm looking at GT 7.7 cases now since the dimensions are similar. May give Zenus a look.
I have a Kayscase coming as well as screen protector. There's also a chance I'll stop there. I can get a little case crazy. You should have seen me with my now sold iPad. I was obsessed.
Would like to see a better design, with magnetic strip enabled rather than a $10 added on feature.

QBKing77's youtube channel has a video review of this "contraption".
Currently there is a deal where you get a free TPU case (i think thats what it is called) with the purchase of a $30 FlyGrip.
He also mentions how you get a discount by using his name at the checkout.
I am almost convinced to get one, but would like your input on this.

I've been using it for about a week now, and haven't regretted that decision. It's definitely a must if you're using your N2 a lot with single hand. I'm still waiting for Aduro case to release their awesome kickstand case that they had for the GSIII:

I've been on the fence with this since i saw a video review of these a few weeks ago. I am horrible about ordering things online. I search the heck out of them and then never buy anything. I really like to see things in person.
I really like the idea though. Seems like it would really make the phone more comfortable for me. I have the flip cover and i usually have one finger between it and the back of my phone which gives me a pretty secure grip but after a few minutes my poor finger starts to feel smashed back there.
Maybe i should just break down and go for it. I could use the free case for testing the mod for using a tpu case with the flip cover.
So indecisive....

Sent from a big Note 2
I got one. The guy is real easy to deal with. I had to swap mine from white to black since Tmobile had no white Note2s. He did it without issue. I carried my phone for a week w/o the clip and now about a week with the clip. I find its a nice bonus. I mostly use it when I'm relaxing and holding the phone at odd angles. Its great for that, very secure. In day to day use I don't really use it since my TPU case has really good grip already.
I had my phone for almost a week before I got my flygrip. In my opinion it makes the phone much easier to use one handed. I have maybe slightly above average hands and I can reach the whole screen easier with it. The stand feature is very nice too. I have mine on a body glove and feel extremely confident I have a very secure grip on my phone when using it. Weird angle gripping is much easier as well. I would recommend one for the GNII 100%
Regurgitated From My Giant Note II
What time curious about is how easy it is to transfer between cases or devices. I saw a video of somebody removing the FlyGrip and it looked to be some super adhesive material.
How resuable is it exactly?
Edit: Took a closer look and looks like you could grab a pack of 3 replacement adhesives. Was really excited for it despite the price since you could say it's justified with the TPU case throw in....but unfortunately the shipping code "QBKING77" is limited only to the States. Really disappointed since I'll have to pass just based on the shipping costs.

I had one on my Sensation, and am awaiting new adhesive, but I LOVE my Flygrip. Thing is simply amazing. I didn't think that I would get 30 bucks worth out of thin cheap plastic, but I've been sorely tempted to pickup a second one for my tablet. Also, they have pretty good customer support, I've called three times, and it's always the same guy that answers. I actually prefer this to the kickstand cases because of the one handed grip support. I can't text on my bike without it, especially with this phone. I'll upload a couple pictures as soon as I get my sticky backs

I just took mine off of my Sensation, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It took some forcing to actually begin to remove it, as it is really pretty damn strong, but once I got it separated from the old case it was simple enough to just rub the remaining residue away. It does leave a very clean rectangle on whatever case you put it on after removal lol.

So emailed FlyGrip with some questions. Response was very quick, not to mention a nice surprise with the great customer service!
" .... Additional tape provided”, are there extra adhesive tapes in each FlyGrip package? Or that we would have to buy the pack of 3 if we were interested in replacements?

Flygrip comes with (1) extra adhesive. So after you remove it, you can put the new adhesive on.* "Some" people try using the existing adhesive.* It depends on how sticky it still is.* We recommend to use a new one, but sometimes the adhesive is sticky enough to reuse.* We sell (3) packs for $2.47.
*
Also, a shot in the dark but I'm wondering if you do happen to have any promotions going on for international shipping (namely to Canada) as the FlyGrip was something I was immediately excited for, only to see the cost of shipping.

Love my FlyGrip. I enjoy knowing I'm not going to drop the phone, but I really purchased it because I'm an ex-EVO user and knew I'd miss the kickstand. I use it as a kickstand whenever the phone isn't in my pocket. Right now I'm using the free case that was included, but I'll take it off in a few weeks. I usually don't go for bold colors, but got the blue kickstand and a royal blue case. Nice looking.
He has lots of videos on the site to help with making a decision. Oh, no, it doesn't add bulk, it's only 1/4" deep. USA made and the packaging is very good looking, would make a great gift.
I think it's a smarter decision to look at these.

Lol. Yeah. I was kinda wanting to go with the Groovy (in blue).. like having the option to use it as a stand for video and reading on breaks. Guess I'll have to check out some of the Amazon ones. Only thing I noticed on most of those is they all seem to have that frame around the sides of the screen.. not sure if I'd like that. Does the auto sleep thing work ok with those? (I currently just have a sleeve I keep mine in that slides into a pocket in my shoulder bag, but I think a case/cover might be better.. less parts to have to deal with. Lol)

The cheap Poetic case can be found here: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-StrapBack-Protective-Function-Manufacturer/dp/B00AAKLDN8.
I hate cases that cover the bezel. This one fits the bill, has the magnetic on/off, and does well as a stand. (side rant: I never understood manufacturers who place the inside surface of a cover on a table when in stand mode. Great way to pick up all sorts of debris and possible scratches. This one doesn't do that, thankfully.)
I'm happy with it. Looks sleek when closed. One potential caveat : it will have that new car smell for a week or so. Didn't bother me, but may some. I would have been happy with this case for 4x the price.
By the way - While I highly recommend this for the HD+, I just as highly don't recommend it for the HD. Given the way the HD is made, it will have possible problems.

Ahh OK. Hadn't really noticed that one for some reason. I had been looking at these: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimline-Portfolio-Manufacturer-Warranty/dp/B00B20N9XW Which, as you you mentioned have you putting at least part of the inside cover against the table. While the only time I'll probably be using the stand feature is at work.. those break room tables can definitely be nasty at times.
Actually now that I look at it, I remember why I'd skipped over this one, there seemed to be several complaints on Amazon of this cover damaging people's Nooks??
The Nook HD version can damage your device. The HD+ one is fine.

Really disappointed in the Lautner case. Adds a lot of bulk and not anywhere near as light as I expected. Luckily it was only £5,the original £35 is daylight robbery.
Thanks for the heads up, picked up two USB cables and chargers for less than the price of one (planned to get one anyway and handy having a spare).
they don't ship oversea (from B&N-UK-website to France/Belgium/Netherlands...)
They do from B&N-US-website, but the prices are higher and the shipment cost also (which is logical: US -> EU)
I've just ordered a Nook HD+, to start reading/try annotating texts on a tablet, thanks to their current low prices (I had to look for a place shipping overseas). It's a pitty I can't do the same with the accessories. Well, I'll have to look further for those. Or maybe see if no one I know is going to the UK anytime soon

Lol. Lol)

Aaaand then there was one. Thanks for spotting that @adam_ky ! Sure beats the $32 "clearance" one I found at Wal-Mart. Lol
I'd been watching eBay and Amazon hoping for just such a find but since eBay's search ignores the "+" I found myself using 9 in the search terms to narrow it down.. this one flew right under the radar. Had $18 in my PayPal account from Ebates so this one will be free!
Nice.

Glad to help. I have found ebay to be the best solution when searching for a good deal on a case. I only have the hd not the plus but i really like the groovy case looks good and works nice. I hope you like it.

I'm liking it a lot actually. Works good, not a ton of options for angles, but you only really need two anyway, ya know? I love the auto sleep/wake feature too.. the cover keeps it from coming on in my backback and draining the battery down. And it looks very nice, not cheap and plasticy.
eBay is definitely my first stop, then Amazon, then from there I go poking around the different sites .. but I'd say 99% of my online purchases are either from eBay or Amazon.
Why UK only?
Can someone buy me some things and ship them to Germany?
