Hey Ricky, I just flashed with your boot, its awesome mate.
Only thing its too choppy, I guess its cause the 1st part of the boot is slow then speeds up for the rest, whereas this is a lot longer than usual boots & my phone boots too fast

Lately I have been working with the Cronos Droid roms and themes but in the recent turn of events I wanted to contribute to the entire Hero community. So here is a new android boot animations which I think might be one of my best!
I will also try to specify the bootanimation.zip location on each rom but help is much appreciated.
Code:
[U][B]Bootanimation location on roms[/B][/U]
FroydVillain - /system/media
Cronos Froyo - /data/local
Cronos 2.1.x - /data/local
Hope you enjoy it and feedback is much appreciated.
Kind Regards

Edit:Made a update.zip for the 2mb bootanimation here > http://www.statusuppdateringskomplex.se/elelinux/Bootanimation_Android_Frost_2mb_by_Swiftwork.zip
Now I have replaced the update script, it deletes all the likely locations and types of the boot animation, even the boot animation which is located in /system/customize/resource.
Location for zip is /system/media

Hi, How do I revert back to the stock animation after this was applied?
This is the boot animation from the special edition Star Wars R2D2 Droid. Taken from here:
http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...r2d2-bootanimation-sounds-pack.html#post31112
THIS IS FOR WVGA DEVICES (IE: N1)... FOR THE HVGA VERSION GO HERE.
The top has been cropped off to keep as much of R2D2 as possible.
The Droid and Star Wars logos have been removed.
This boot animation has 3 parts, and needed to be consolidated into 2 for the HVGA version to work correctly. I don't know if the WVGA version requires it too.
I have no device to test on, if it doesn't work properly, please let me know.

Ran on my Incredible with latest CM stable. Wayyy sharper than the Droid-intended ones (makes sense), but yeah it does appear to be a bit choppy. Probably not super helpful to this thread, but there you go.
Thank you, I think it works fine on my Eris!!!
Edit: I think I was supposed to put this in the HVGA thread.

lol. that's ok. We will forgive you just this once.
Got this running on my HD2 android 2.2 Bangsters 1.3a rom. I used ES File Explorer as a free alternative to root explorer.
As others have posted, it is quite slow. I'll be keeping it anyways because it is still way cool.
What determines how well these boot animations run? Does it have to do with the speed of the device or what?
Ok, try one of these. "Signed" is flashable in recovery, the other is install by ADB or terminal only.

Links contain the first and second animation-
2.1+ HVGA PAC-DROID-GAME.
2.1+ QVGA PAC-DROID-GAME.
2.1+ WVGA PAC-DROID-GAME.
Links contains the second animation only-
2.1+ HVGA PAC-APPLE.
2.1+ QVGA PAC-APPLE.
2.1+ WVGA PAC-APPLE.
Updated the animations to 24 bit png, resulting in better quality than the original 8 bit.
To use, flash from recovery or unpack to C:\ and push boot-animation via adb with the following command-
adb push C:\bootanimation.zip /system/media/
or
adb push C:\bootanimation.zip system/customize/resource/
NOTE:Flash zips installs to system/media
Hope you like it, let me know what you think.

I originally had it chrome but wanted a bit of colour, I think it looks better as a juicy red apple.
I only want the "eat apple" in WVGA (or FWVGA for my X10). How to do? The first pack contains pacman as well, and I can not change the zip to have only the "eat apple". The second pack contains "eat apple" but only in HVGA
Added, second animation only for QVGA and WVGA.

can get other ones to load up that i got off of the warm 2.2 update page any way you can take a look and see if there is some difference that will allow me to use this one. thx tried every other way that people have said to use.
I'm guessing its installing to the wrong directory.

I think evo needs to be customize>resource??
I'll have a look when I get home if you haven't solved it already.

Here's the Honeycomb bootanimation, resized for the Droid Eris:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It's fairly large because I wanted to resize it without losing any quality to the actual animation.
Installation is simple:
Drop the HoneycombBoot.zip into your tools (platform-tools for newer SDK installs) folder.
In Windows, run (as admin):
Code:
adb push HoneycombBoot.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
In Linux/Mac, run:
Code:
./adb push HoneycombBoot.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
And you're done! :3
To test your new Bootanimation without restarting just simply run:
Windows:
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
In Linux/Mac:
Code:
./adb shell bootanimation
MD5 SUM: e316000e2b165271c0e5e813bfec7bcf
EDIT!: I had to fix the bootanimation, the Eris was cropping it, and since I don't have 8 posts yet, I can't post a link to it. Download is in the Attachments of the next post.
