Darky 9.5 Auto call recording bug? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Everytime i make a call my phone records by default the conversation. I have looked and searched everywhere and i could not find any solution or the setting to disable this auto record feature.
Any idea? Iam running on Darky 9.5.

There are some files missing from your SD card, which shoud be there.
To disable autorecording
add files
.norec_in
.norec_out
with no content to your sd-card.

Awesome it helped.
Thank you.

Hi,
How to add the above 2 files and from where I need to download these files...please help!!!!

create a new file (text file), rename it to .norec_in and .norec_out
for exemple : "no_name.txt" to ".norec_in"

hey, i'm having the same problem with Darky 9.5.
I created those files and added them to the root internal sd card but the calls are still automatically recorded... do these files need to be in a specific directory?
Thanks

Need to ask darky .
jje

My bad, my PC (windows 7 pro) automatically added the .txt file extension when I copied the files across via USB. As soon as I emailed them rather than copying them across it stopped recording straight away, without even rebooting

How to fix non looping Ringtone?

Anyone know how to make ring tones loop?
I say this as I am using the Incubus froyo build and when I set it to the Digital Ring (not a custom ring tone) , it only tones once.
This, as you can imagine is quite annoying, anyone know why or how to fix this? Others must be dealing with this problem.
This was talked about before but I'll have to look for it, from what I remember you need to open it in an audio editor and there's some kind of "loop" tag that is set to false on Digital Ringtone. I'll see if I can find the post (unless somebody beats be to it)
EDIT: Here's the post
and HERE is an archive with all the files already looped
Use Bell phone its close. Sorry I don't have a better solution.

Thanks for the link. I remember this being an issue in the past (I have used Android since the beginning). I remember putting the media folder on the SD card and the phone detected automatically.
This is not the case however with my version of froyo. I put the media folder on the SD card with all the audio and the phone isn't detecting the additional ringtones. Is there anything else I need to do?

Download 7zip (google it) and you can open .tar/.tgz files with it.
Download the build you'd like to use and open with 7zip.
Replace the media folder with the new one.
Flash the new androidinstall.
Or here's an androidupdate with the new media. (Haven't tested though)

download the update.zip package from romkitchen.org selecting jvp 2.3.4 as the base. Unzip it and copy the file to the location from where you have deleted it using root explorer.
I am Humbly assuming you are rooted
Else i have uploaded the file to rapidshare.com. I dont know when it will get deleted.
https://rapidshare.com/files/487235017/MediaProvider.apk
actually..my real problem is...my media scanner is not working or scan anymore.... i look into titanium backup, com.android.providers.media is removed.
already did copy mediaprovider to system/app..but didnt work..
try reenable with Rescan media root...but not working also..
my ringtone doesnt work anymore....my gallery is not showing pictures anymore...
can i do something?

I dont know why its happening. maybe if you dont have any long list of apps, you can flash the JVP firmware once again?
or select a non-wipe version from Rom kitchen?
I think the problem is when you copied the media scanner apk to the system>app folder you didn't have read/write enabled. If you don't have root explorer download File Expert from the market. Then go menu>more>settings>file explorer and down the bottom enable root explorer. Now go copy the media provider apk then navigate to the system/apps folder. Then go menu>mount>Mount as read write and paste the apk, reboot and hopefully it will work.
thankss .... but .. i copy the apk using terminal.... and already remount rw.. but its okay..thanks all...already flash it again...ahhh.... thanks all

Cm10 Message/notification tones gone? :S

Hi All,
I recently had to do a factory wipe of my phone and reinstalled my cm10 alpha ROM again.
But now, I have lost all my message tones and ringtones, like all off them. the only ones that I can select and use are
CyanTone
CyanMessage
I tried extracting the other files from the "cm-10-20120729-UNOFFICIAL-galaxysmtd.zip\system\media\audio\notifications" directory in the file and placing those into the notifications folder on my phone, but still nothing shows up when i go into the settings menu :S
Anyone have any idea's on what's happened or what can be done?
UPDATE:
I just flashed to the latest version of the alpha and everything was back in place
However once I opened Apollo, all my tones disappeared again :S
bump..
Hey
Have you tried coping it to the internal sd card??
Put notification tones in /Notification
and ringtones in a new folder (In Internal SD Card) as /Ringtones
then paste the files there and reboot...this could solve your issue..
Yeah already tried that. I think its an issue with the ROM itself. I'll live haha

Hey,
I'm having the same issue. If anyone finds a fix please post it because it's annoying the **** out of me.

Shortcuts to files

Hi,
Android noob here.
How can I create/use file/folder shortcuts under Android ?
My music files (mp3) are on my ext-sd card, I'd like to use some of thems as ringtones w/o cluttering my system partition by copy/move to system/media/audio/ringtones.
Is there an easy way to create shortcuts to my media files and moving them there ? Tried several file managers (Astro, Xplore, Root Explorer ...) w/o success.
Any guidance will increase your thanks meter.
I'm on stock ICS (LRG) with Notecore kernel.
You can set folders as favourites in es file explorer to make them quickly accessible...

No need no put in system partition, just on.sdcard/media/audio/ringtone.will work.
Even on ext sdcard.with same path.as said above shud work too.

I tried it with ES file manager and could create a folder/file shortcut from ext sd on an empty place of one of my home screens...is this what you want?

Not exactly.
I'd like to create a link(pointer) file, as I can do it on Windows, that I could move to system/media/audio/ringtones, instead of the much larger mp3 file. With MS Windows I can select a file in Explorer, right click->Create shortcut, then I can use that small .lnk file anywher and use it the real file.
Windows provides other similar functions (Junctions, hard links), I do'nt know any equivalents on Linux/Android.

Thanks, it resolved my practical problem.
However I find incredible that such a simple and very useful feature (sortcuts to files/folders which could be stored anywhere) is not available on an mature OS . I made extensive searches with Google, found apps which generate files/folders shortcuts only on the home screen.

I went there, but it seems that in menu it wont give me a copy option, and even when i do get that option it says that i can't save it to SD card, what permissions do i need to set there, maybe this the problem? and is it permission per files of folder ?? how can i set the option to copy from root to SD ?
sorry for bunch of questions :fingers-crossed:
Just use the app Super Backup. Backup apps option will copy app apks to sd card.

I'm rather sure it was created in the same folder the aroma-app-package-creator.jnlp was in and it's a zip file, there is no exe.
Probably yes but there was not really a problem you just need all the apk files and it takes some time but the result is very good and usefull.
My mistake, i was talking about the .jnlp file.
Btw i put in this paclage creator only the apk files and did not add any app folder.
I'm gonna try it again later on today. The first few try out the program worked pretty fast but no zip to be seen LOL. Lets see what will happen later on.

Works flawlessly for me
:victory::victory::victory: YES, FINALLY. i made it :laugh: i think i know what was the problem. i didnt give enough time to create the .ZIP file. if would have waited for 20 secs longer on each earlier attempt, i would have had those files already. LMAO, i'm such a noob dang so stupid of me. well no i know to double check myself. hehe.
