Hi All,
I recently had to do a factory wipe of my phone and reinstalled my cm10 alpha ROM again.
But now, I have lost all my message tones and ringtones, like all off them. the only ones that I can select and use are
CyanTone
CyanMessage
I tried extracting the other files from the "cm-10-20120729-UNOFFICIAL-galaxysmtd.zip\system\media\audio\notifications" directory in the file and placing those into the notifications folder on my phone, but still nothing shows up when i go into the settings menu :S
Anyone have any idea's on what's happened or what can be done?
UPDATE:
I just flashed to the latest version of the alpha and everything was back in place
However once I opened Apollo, all my tones disappeared again :S
bump..
Hey
Have you tried coping it to the internal sd card??
Put notification tones in /Notification
and ringtones in a new folder (In Internal SD Card) as /Ringtones
then paste the files there and reboot...this could solve your issue..
Yeah already tried that. I think its an issue with the ROM itself. I'll live haha

Hi there..
I update my SGS to Froyo last 2 days.. and yesterday I apply Voodoo 5 on it.
But today I just noticed that any images from my external SD will appear double in gallery.. dunno when it started to happen.. is there any way to fix this?
thanks
Im my case was 5 for each original, and with a lot of problems to delete the "non-real" ones...
thats hurt.. anyone can help here?
Yup! Just go to Application Manager, then easily clear cache for Media Storage! Ta-Da! No more duplicate images!
(It made my ringtones reset, but I could live with it!)

is FROYO 2.2 officially available in INDIAfor samsung Galaxy S.can any one confirm please?
If you have Root Explorer
GO into /dbdata/databases/com.android.providers.media
and delete both the internal and external files
Reboot

Great hint, just wondering though if there is any way to have an app or script run at boot-up to do this for you, so people don't have to do it manually every time their gallery has a fit?
I rooted my cdma hero almost a week ago, and things have gone okay. I've been running cm6. however, i recently noticed my phone wasn't ringing or anything when i had the volume all the way up. It only vibrated. I figured "well maybe I accidentally applied the 'silent' ringtone" so i went to check that.. only to find that all of my ringtones were gone! I proceeded to re-download a ringtone and notification pack, and put them in the /media/audio/ringtones/ and /media/audio/notifications/ directories. Still.. No ringtones! I tried using the dev tools app to do a media scan.. it says this: "sent ACTION_MEDIA_MOUNTED to trigger the Media Scanner." Nothing else happens. nothing changes.. so i backed up anything i needed and formatted my SD card. lo and behold, after putting the ringtones back on... nothin'. Can anyone help me? I'm really screwed if i can't fix this. Thanks for taking the time to read my life story, and thanks in advance for any advice!
EDIT: I also now noticed that if i open the music app, it says "scanning SD card" and does nothing else at all.
If your missing ring tones in your rom you can reflash the rom or try a full wipe then reflash the rom. As in wipe data,cache,dev-cache and sd-ext if you have one. What recovery are you running??? And what mods are you running???
Yea it's Me Again With The
Modified Hero
Hi,
Everytime i make a call my phone records by default the conversation. I have looked and searched everywhere and i could not find any solution or the setting to disable this auto record feature.
Any idea? Iam running on Darky 9.5.

There are some files missing from your SD card, which shoud be there.
To disable autorecording
add files
.norec_in
.norec_out
with no content to your sd-card.
Awesome it helped.
Thank you.

Hi,
How to add the above 2 files and from where I need to download these files...please help!!!!
create a new file (text file), rename it to .norec_in and .norec_out
for exemple : "no_name.txt" to ".norec_in"
hey, i'm having the same problem with Darky 9.5.
I created those files and added them to the root internal sd card but the calls are still automatically recorded... do these files need to be in a specific directory?
Thanks
Need to ask darky .

My bad, my PC (windows 7 pro) automatically added the .txt file extension when I copied the files across via USB. As soon as I emailed them rather than copying them across it stopped recording straight away, without even rebooting

Here's the deal....I went to system\media\audio\ringtones and deleted every stock ringtone....sense im running safestrap I also deleted from\preinstall.....rebooted but they are still in the ringtone list and still work....I don't understand how that's possible.... so I used mp3 download and deleted one from there to see if that would work and Bam its gone from the list.....but deleting them 1 by 1, having to scroll all the way back down to where I left off every time one is deleted would be a waste of my time not to mention drive me to possibly commit suicide.....both system\media\audio\ringtones folders are empty....Why in the hell are they still in the ringtone list and still frickin working.......
Try in the /mnt/sdcard/android/.....
That may be just notifications in that folder.. don't remember.

I had this happen to me a build or two ago, after some searching I found that I some how had a folder on sdcard with all the ringtones in it as well as them being in system media. After deleting the sdcard folder the duplicates disappeared. Hope that helps.

Hi all..I recently flashed XLA6 (russian) my original ROM was XKL3 using CWM and rooted.. After that i was experimenting with germay, again with Indian DDL5 and again XKL3 and finally settled with XLA6. After doing all these.. I noticed that my gallery shows empty even though i have images and videos in my built memory. Picture gallery shows only bluetooth recieved files not copied from PC files. What could be the reason?
Please apologize if this was discussed earlier. I couldn't find similar thread like this..oz column shows only five similar threads.

Option 1. Restart Device
Option 2. Copy all contents to PC and again copy it to Device
I tried restarting it.. May be i shud re transfer the files..
Rescan your media. That should do it. There is an app for that in the Market.

A tip is to use another gallery than the one provided with the Stock. Quick gallery on the market works very well and is immensely quicker especially if you have a lot of pictures. To increase your speed on the external SD-card (if you have one), you may try SD-Boost from the market.
Problem solved once re format the internal and copied the files again.. It seems after flasshing rom it didn't recognise the folder created by older rom.. Is that the fact?
