[WANTED] T-Mobile Leo box - HD2 Accessories

Does anyone wish to part with their T-Mobile HD2 box? I have all the stuff that was in it, but I don't have the box itself anymore (stupid dog). Would anyone be willing to trade for it? It doesn't really matter to me what you prefer, I'm just OCD enough to trade a battery for a box to have the whole set together.
I am offering to trade a new Leo battery for the T-Mobile box in good condition. PM me to make a deal. I will not discuss these things in the open forum. A new battery for a useless box is a good trade, no?

LOL. I knew someone would ask. I've got ORD pretty bad, but that's nothing compared to my OCD. I just like to have all the stuff together with the devices I have for future storage mostly. A stupid little dog ate my box.

I got a box how much are willing to put? 30$?

$30 for just a box? No, but thanks anyway. You also aren't active enough in the community for me to trust you with my personal information. I'm not trying to be rude, that's just how it is.

I'm in Tampa FL. Pay for shipping and you can have mine but the insert is missing since I was using it to hold phone parts. Its just a box to me so you don't have to pay me for it, just shipping cost
Sent from tin can with string.

I'll sell you my box. but instead how about i put it on Amazon.com to make it legit? I'll sell for fifteen dollars.

Are either of you offering the T-Mobile box?

I am pretty sure I still have the boxes that mine came in ( 2 phones ). In Houston. Let me see what the postage is on the thing and if you want it it's yours.
And for the people who are trying to sell a box? WTF where has help your neighbor gone?

I'm very grateful to both of you. I'm only asking if it is the T-Mobile version of the box. I am more than willing to put up the shipping costs. I thought I had sent out PMs to you guys about it. Sorry if it didn't go through.

yea I have the box. pm me if you want to talk

how about $15? i have a box

What does a community mean to you?
First of all, thank you guys for offering your boxes. Secondly, if you wish to help me out, please do it in a PM, as I would rather not discuss this in the open forum. Thirdly, I don't understand why some of you are so set to profit off of a box. I don't mind paying to have it shipped. That is absolutely not a problem, but I would never dream of trying to sell a box to another user on this forum, let alone make a profit on something so trivial. I don't mean to complain about the generosity, but come on. Would any of you pay $15, $20, or $30 plus shipping for a box? So far these are the offers I have received. I have sent PMs to a couple of others who were generous enough to offer their box for merely the cost of shipping, but haven't received a reply from them just yet.
To give an example, I received a bunch of screen protectors from a certain company. I only ordered one of them, but I was sent 15 for some reason. Instead of selling them all, I figured it would have been nice to offer them to the community here for only the cost of shipping. As it turned out, I found a book of stamps I didn't know I had and got a pack of envelopes for $1, so I decided to refund the minute amount that I had asked for in the first place. I wound up giving and shipping them all for free. Here was the thread, if you were wondering.
I'm not asking anyone else to do the same thing. I know that shipping a box is considerably more costly than a forty cent stamp. I said I was willing to pay the shipping cost and even a small amount for the time spent on this. I simply feel that it's wrong to send me PMs with things like, "I will sell it to you for $20 plus the shipping cost. That is my offer. If you don't like it, then ask someone else." That was a direct quote from a PM sent to me by a certain user here after I asked him why he felt the box was worth so much.
The point is that this is a community of users. I'm not saying anyone has to do this. I'm asking the community to lend a hand to someone. I don't think it's too much to ask that other users not try to rip each other off here. And if it is, then perhaps this isn't the same site I once knew.

The T-Mobile one is black instead of white, and has T-Mobile branding on the side, as far as I remember.

I like my T-Mob box as it's black & beautiful. I would never sell it for $20.
Like OP I like to keep box for accessories & device Retirement storage
Someone will come up trumps so don't worry.
Will people sell a box for $20? Um yes, keep an eye on CrimeBay (eBay to the too trusting), they can make good money lol

My phone depreciated in value more quickly than my computer.

I remember back when I sold my N95 after two years of ownership I got about 60% of the purchase price back.
I bought my HTC HD2 T9193 for about $550 a little over a year ago. You could say the more generic T8585 (int'l version) went for maybe $450. I'd probably be hard pressed to get more than $200 for it now even if it were in immaculate condition. That's 36% of what I paid after just a little over a year, or 44% if you consider it tantamount to the more common variant.
I have an Intel Core 2 Quad system that I built for around $600 total. Parting it out, I made about $400 back after over two years of ownership. That's 66% of what I paid.
My i7-920 was purchased at launch for $290 and change. I got $150 for it pretty easily -- still over 50% over three years later.
I guess what I'm rambling about is that mobile phones are moving really fast technologically. The competition is great and it's awesome to see yesterday's high-end become stupidly affordable now for pretty much anyone.
It seems the only smartphones that hold their value nowadays are iPhones, and that's only until the next incremental generation is announced. Once 1280x800 phones become the norm even the venerable Samsung Galaxy S II will probably be worth chump change.
I'm never going to pay more than $300 for a new smartphone (unsubsidized and contract-free).

I've had my captivate almost a year now.
It is probably worth half of what it was then.
Doesn't really bother me at all honestly.. I wanted to get the best tech I could and the atrix was still unreviewed.. so I got the best I could and have no regrets.
I wanted something that had great organizational abilities and to be able to play a few games.
Couldn't be happier still with ics rom running oses that aren't even released yet.
The rat race is for rats who can't research a device, and then be happy with it.
I made sure there was great 3rd party dev support upfront and I couldn't be more pleased.
a $600 phone worth less than $300 after only 8 months
welcome to the android world
Value is subjective. It only becomes an issue when market forces are called into play. For instance, my car is worth more to me than it is in the market. If i crashed it, my £2000 car would get back £1000 from Insurance, and an equal replacement would cost me £3000.
A new car will lose 80% of it's 'value' after a 20% of it's useful life.
If you want value for money you buy old, and keep it until it's dead. Early adopters get the worst economy, whether tech or cars.
Dirk posted some words of truth that are pretty priceless.
Another great option is to buy "recertified" type things.
I got an "open box" set of headphones that came with manufacturer warranty. MSRP was 360$. Average price new was roughly 260$.
I found them for 170$.
Always pays to do some research and find out what your options are.. sometimes you can get it "new" almost half off if you read the fine print of "open box."
Early adopters always get screwed though.. not just in cost.. Highest chance of malfunction ect ect.
Also.. especially in the phone world.. a lot of "upgrades" are really more flash than substance. Something else to keep in mind is that computers are stationary.. less likely to be dropped and whatever else.
Damn you Dirk! I was gonna do a car analogy.
Guess I'm stuck with this point instead.
The HD2 was, and still is, a MASSIVELY popular device. That has a huge effect on the market as everyone's 18 or 24 month contracts have come to an end so ebay is flooded with the things. You stick a "buy it now" price that you think is fair and you get some rich arse who doesn't give a toss and starts bidding at 1p, with no reserve. You can't compete with that.
This is just one of the many reasons why your phone was worth diddly-squat. I bought a HD2 on the UK release date for just under £500. I sold it 18 months later for £200 to a guy that made me feel like I'd just pimped my daughter when he asked me "So what's this Android software that's on it?"
There's plenty of other reasons, but this is one. Sad but true.
Edit: Incidentally, the guy I sold my HD2 to was holding an iPhone when he answered the door. I didn't just pimp my daughter out. I pimped her out to a serial killer.

purchased galaxy nexus

just wanted to make a rant/rave thing.
just purchased the galaxy nexus off the google play store (lol play store) for about $392USD.
:crying::crying: tax sucked! $32 dollars for NYC
first time i spent this much for a phone, it was almost unjustifiable.... if i wasnt selling my old beloved nexus one for 150-ish. so i guess technically i am spending only about $240 out of my pocket, which isnt so bad if you look at it that way.

Stop f***ing moaning. That's what I think.
You can obviously afford the money or you wouldn't have bought it. We can't order the Nexus phone from Google here in the UK, so we end up paying way more to get it from another source if we want it.
If you weren't happy with the cost then you should have stuck with your old phone

The price you paid for what you got is dirt cheap. I can't believe how little Google is charging for them, off contract. I bought one for my wife when they were still $399 and I have no regrets, that was a steal too.

I paid almost $700 for mine from handtec when they first came out and I bought 2. I could have purchased 5 total with the prices now. With the next nexus I might not be so quick to get, I think I'll be able to wait a few months for prices to come down....hopefully.
Google should really sell the next nexus for $400 straight from play store. They would kill the market for sure.

What do I think? It's the best bang for your buck. And honestly, if you're using it while on contract, you're wasting your money. Contracts are a thing of the past. Take it to T-Mobile's $30 5GB, unlimited text, 100 minute plan or to Straight Talk's $50 unlimited everything (runs on AT&T or T-Mobile, whichever you choose). Don't forget you have a pentaband phone, which is rare even nowadays.
I paid $575 out of pocket (after trade-in credits from Amazon) for my Galaxy S III i9300, so don't complain.

Spending hundreds of dollars to get a different colored phone that you already own? If you have the money to throw away, then go for it. In this day and age, that doesn't sound very practical. You will have to pay full price for the phone. Even if you successfully sell the white one, you're going to have to pay hundreds out of pocket to change phones. All the more power to ya if you do I guess. Good luck getting a refurb if something breaks on the colored one. If they can even get a replacement, it'll take weeks to get another if it isn't a popular color. With my e4gt, black could be gotten in a week. White took at least twice as long. Knowing sprint, it wouldn't be financially smart to offer a bunch of colors. You'd most likely have to order it online because the stores wouldn't carry it because it's not a high demand item.
Good news will be getting one of these for the other half, she is a pink freak. Well worth the money IMO. Might be hard to replace but she can always use her white one if she needs to. Of course something better may be out by then also so who knows.

Agree to disagree. I'm not worried about it as much as you are. The phone just came out & people are willing to buy mine. With that being said, I won't be spending as much as you think I would be. Hundreds out of the pocket to change phones? Are you dealing with some blackmarket "Sprint" dealer from Detroit? My Sprint doesn't charge to switch phones or port numbers. It really comes down to IF Sprint will even have the color I want. I can see them definitely stocking purple, but I highly doubt they will offer the other colors. In this day & age, people jump the gun every time a new iPhone or Android comes out for whatever their reasoning may be. I will be getting a new S4 based on the color. I'm a girl. It's what I do. Everything is online lol. I preordered my current S4 online

Exactly, not a big deal. I'm a pink freak, too lol. Everyday there's a new, bigger & better thing out. I'm stuck in this contract for two years & I'm going to get a phone I'll be happy with for two years, even if that means spending a little more for happiness.
It won't cost her a dime probably. Maybe tax would be the main difference in price. You can sell these phones for retail used.
Plus if she gets a pink one and had to have it replaced and they don't have any refurbished then she just gets a brand new one. They can't make you wait. I've gotten brand new ones many times when they don't have refurbs.

What is this phone full price, 650? With contract renewal or new line, maybe 250 or less if you can find it on sale. I got mine for 199. Let's say you used your upgrade on the one you have now. As far as I know, if you want another phone, you have to pay full price. There's the option of upgrade now. I forgot about that one. Say you got your phone a couple of months ago, you have 22 months left until you can upgrade without paying additional fees. I have no idea what the upgrade now cost would be. I'd be surprised if someone could get 300 for a used s4 in working order with clean ESN.

Here's some shots I took when Samsung was holding an event, I was told by the Samsung people that Sprint should get the purple s4 mid July so I guess we will wait and see.

I only paid $150 for mine new. No matter what, I'm making a profit so I will barely make a dent in my purse to pay for the pink one lol.
Besides 600 bucks isn't that much to keep the other half happy. Then we sell her old one for let's say even 400 bucks. That makes it 200 bucks out of the pocket. She spends more than that on a pair of shoes she wears twice. I call the phone a bargain. Nothing wrong with paying good money for something you will enjoy. Its all about what it is worth to the person buying it.

I hear you on the shoes thing. Shoes and clothes. My girl can easily spend 600-700 on clothes at the Buckle every few weeks. Most of it she only wears once and never again, either given away to her friends(if they are small enough) or pushed to the back of one of her closets.
No matter what you get for the phone its still going to off set the cost of a new one pretty much. Do what makes you happy and ignore what others think.
I wonder what the Sprint buy back value is for a s4? Purple looks cool but I can't see myself going more into debt just to change a color. Right now I'm working full time, still broke most of the time, and car in desperate need of multiple repairs. FML.
Buy back is a joke sell the phone you'll get probably at least 400.

Don't do the buy back. Like he said above, it's a flat out joke. Craigslist is an easy $400+ for our phones. It's best to sell it on Craigslist, Amazon, Ebay or Swappa.
The purple one is the prettiest IMO.

I'm not a fan of purple, but they did a good job on it. They chose the colors well. I wish I could have them all for every outfit lol. Definitely have to give it up for the obvious one, Pink Twilight. Still holding my breath for it.

Awful Jesus phone what? lol

Can I return my extra nexus 6 or should I sell it? just arrived and I got two now.

I ordered a blue 32 because i wasn't able to secure a white one the first week, two weeks later I was lucky enough to purchase a white one but now I'm stuck with two and having one is expensive enough. Is it possible to return the blue one even though it has already arrived or should i just try to sell it? If i were to sell it, would i lose money and where would be a good place to try to sell it?
Where did you buy it from? You should be within the return window because I got mine in the first batch and it arrived 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I know GPS has 15 days from the delivery date and I'm not sure about Motorola.
Sell it to a local XDA member that can't get their hands on it. You shouldn't lose any money. I'm sure someone is willing to pay for shipping on their end for the device.

I heard reports of people offering couple hundred more than what they sell for. Some people don't want to wait and have the money. Just something to think about. Or if you want to be humble and sell to someone at cost and make someone happy for not waiting.

Then it should be a very easy return. Just give them a call and say you want to return it. Google will send you a shipping label and tell you how to send it.

I wish i could post a thread offering to sell it here on xda like you said just to help out a fellow xda member but even the mention of posting a device for sale here will result in the threat of getting my account banned, i have made that mistake once. It really isn't right especially in this situation, I'm not looking to get rich or even profit from it. And who knows, maybe someone here would be really stoked to be able to just send me a pm and be able to get their hands on one rather than struggling to get one from the limited stock. I think the issue should be handled on a case by case basis but hey, just one man's opinion. The moderators abusing their authority is a whole seperate issue though and one on which i personally refuse to comment.

I feel ya. But put it up on swappa. I think that's the official XDA market place or Google plus. Buy ya I think there were too many scams on XDA so they pulled the plug on market place.
Better sell that sucker! I am sure the value drops everyday as the devices become more available. But I sold mine for 835!

I didn't use Jump but I did order the phone online.... I called customer service before hand to ask such question and was told that after I receive the phone I use a number off the box or receipt to claim gift.... At that time I can choose what I want...
But during the process of ordering there was no option for it....:good:

Okay, thanks. Seems if you order it as a first time customer, you can pick what you want during the order process - or so it seems.

I can't answer that.... I clicked the upgrade part so that's all I know.... Like I said I called Customer service before hand and it seems as though if you do it by phone you can say what gift you want but... they now implement a $20.00 "assistance fee" for doing it by phone....
I politely told the lady I don't want to pay the $20.00 and proceeded to do the transaction online... She was very helpful though and answered everything I asked so I do appreciate that...
You have to go to the Samsung promotions site when you have phone and receipt in hand to place your order.
SD card and Fit 2 will take up to 12 weeks for delivery.
Netflix is a digital code.
https://promos.samsungpromotions.com/galaxyoffer/
You need IMEI, MAC address and receipt from the device.
---------- Post added at 09:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:03 PM ----------
Oh yeah, and the promotion for the Fit 2 and SD card is limited to the first 250K then they substitute. . .
So when you get it, hop to it.

I also used JUMP via Web to place my preorder. There was no option for me to choose either, Hopefully there still Gear fit 2 available for me to redeem my gift.
I guess this must be the first time you guys have gotten any perks like this. ITs been this way for quite some time that you basically upload a copy of your invoice and use your IMEI number to process your order for samsung promotions. Also dont get too crazy thinking it may come right away generally it takes 4-6 weeks to receive promotional gifts
So far I have gotten netflix, wireless chargers, gift cards and gear vr. They will send it so dont get too nervous if you feel like you been waiting a while.
I just ordered the phone on jump on demand and the guy told me i wasnt gonna be eligible to receive the sd card or gear or netflix promotion with it. It was only available if i got it as a eip or bought full price. Sucks but still got it anyways.lol

With jump on demand you can only do it over the phone or in store upgrade. No online upgrade. For pre order just call tmobile and when it asks you to say what you are calling for just say representative. Tell them you want a jump on demand upgrade and to preorder a phone. And whenever you get the new phone just go to a tmobile store and return the old one. Really quick. Make sure you keeo the charger, they wont ask for it.
If the phone is already out then just go to any store and they will trade it for you. Also pretty fast. The cool thing is that you dont have to put any money down for any phone with jump on demand.
The only reason I didn't order it was because they had a 70 down plus tax on jump on demand. I kept asking if that was right because it didn't sound right. Guess they did have a money down thing for jod on the note 7 but got rid of it because people were complaining. Sucks because I would've ordered it last week. But it's cool I guess. I'll just order it today

I went ahead and paid the $70, then got a text two days later from T-Mobile stating that I could do it for no money down, all I had to do was call back in and they would change it for me and my monthly amount would go from $33.50 to $37.50. I went ahead and just left it alone as I didn't want to risk losing my place in the shipping line.
