I'm a great sniper while gaming, I have great aim, reflexes, and can dispatch enemies very quickly. But recently I've been wondering what these skills could be useful for in real life.
I haven't noticed anything different in day-to-day activities, but does anyone know how these instinctual routines I perform behind a screen affect me physically in real life?
It'd be cool to find out, so I can take advantage of them. I'm pretty insociable, if you know what I mean.
try noticing prius-es without looking for them on the road , films , video , youtubes ... i have my prius eye ninja skills maxed out
Your reaction speed increases. Lets say your driving a car, something pops up in front of you. You'll decide faster on what to do then a regular person.
Also your hand eye coordination is better. For example surgeons who play shooting games, their hands are more stable and can work more precise.
Other then that nothing xD maybe if you play alot of clan matches, your teamwork skills get better so in real life, if you have a job that involves you to work in teams, you get better at that too.

Granted, but sometimes, their moms force them to take baths, and some 14-17 year old kids don't have much when it comes to body hair (and not much of pube hair either).
But you do have a valid point.
Hmm, well you could take up sniping in real life. Assassinate some politicians....... ahah, I kid

I lol'd at the 'dispatch enemies quickly'. Do you actually say that in a video game? If so I suggest selling said video game. If it's a Call of Duty we're talking about then nothing, my granny could snipe on that game... She's dead too.

Shooting IRL is much easier than in video games, in that you rely on your own visuals and your own hands to do everything, rather than a mouse that moves every time you click. I find that i can hit moving targets much easier IRL than in video games because of this.
This is of course, if youre not being shot back at.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to put crosshairs on a target at most distances. Now if the weather is bad or youre in actual combat, thats a different story.

Shooting is easy, I'd grant you that. But do try to hit a moving target at 200+ meters away, shooting back at you with a wild AK-47, lobbing WWII grenades at you while your best buddy is trying to put his intestines back into his stomach and screaming for help.
Yeah, go Internet Soldiers. Go.

He was exposed to radiation in some way that changed his "composition" He can be as large or small as he chooses, can be material or not. He became almost like a god, but one who doesn't actually give a crap about creation. This is not your regular superhero story. The good guys aren't always good and the bad guys aren't always bad. I just hope the filmmakers don't mess too much with the story.
sounds intense, trailer is awsome -- cant wait for the movi, i believe its coming out in Imax 2

Because there is no room for comedians anymore unless they are profane, loud, or obnoxious. Unless its Steve Carell or Will Ferrell.
I can't believe some people have listed action films and not listed my two "naughty favourites":
Luc Besson's Taxi, and Roadhouse.
Watching Taxi is great, watching it while thinking "how did they film that?" is even more amazing. Roadhouse, well who hasn't wanted to be either of the coolers in it?!?
As for Watchmen, will definitely be dragging the wife to it!

It's okay. Frank Caliendo is tolerable for about 5 minutes before it's the same crap over and over. His Jerry is terrible. His Kramer voice is good, but the physical stuff is garbage.

It's not supposed to be a serious impersonation like when Ian Bliss portrayed Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) outside of the matrix like in the Matrix Reloaded.
This is more of a parody type of impersonation. So I disagree with you. This performance was perfect.
Yeah but Frank Calliendo isn't that funny.

Frank's Madden is great. His Bush is the best out there (although I wish I'd stop hearing it since Bush has been gone for a while now). His Dr. Phil is good. His Barkley is terrible. His Jerry is annoying. Jerry doesn't ALWAYS talk in that "comedic pitch" (as George called it) and if you watch enough Seinfeld on a daily basis like I do, it really doesn't happen often enough to constantly talk like that when doing an impression. His Kramer voice is great, but his physical stuff is lackluster and, quite frankly, annoying. Richards is a great physical comic. Caliendo is not.
There are others out there. Rich Little, Pablo Francisco, and Elon Gold come to mind. Here is something I found easy....

But we can certainly all share in a laugh at the Seinfeld Porno satire...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHYPspIRKLw
I agree that Seinfeld does not always talk like that....but in my opinion, Franks job is to pull out the "annoying" characteristics/mannerisms of famous people and magnify them, not be exactly like them. More like a cartonnist making caricatures where Jay Leno has a head bigger than his whole body or Pam has boobs that cover her face!!
If I wanted Frank to be exactly like Seinfeld, I'd rather watch Seinfeld.

It's supposed to be funny and dead-on; but it's a parody, not a dramatic rendition.
And as for the performance, I already said that it was perfect. This should imply that I agree a great impersonation has to be dead-on and funny.
What I meant is that parody distorts something but have a resemblance to that 'something'. All parody's have some sort of distortion of facts, behaviors, and whatnot.
That's why comedic parody's always over exaggerate things. They are meant to point things out based on common sense.
If you don't over exaggerate or poke fun of things you know, than you basically just performing for the 'direction and script' and not really for the "resemblance'' even though the point of a impersonation is to share a "likeness".
This means that if Frank Caliendo could do an even better George impersonation, he would have made Seinfeld even better. Of course, I would then take notice more of his ability to act than his ability to impersonate.
Btw, I don't like his Bush or Madden impersonations to the extent of his Jerry, Seinfeld, and George impersonations.
And......the Elaine performance was just bad....

He should really just stick with Madden. MadTV was absolutely terrible and Comedy Central just needs to fill up time.
It's late here, so sorry if this has been asked or talked about before. The phone I had for a length of time before this was a Nexus One. I switched to the G2X and hated it with a passion.
Our phones can darned near do anything I can possibly imagine today... especially when you consider that color screens were "hot" just a few years back.
I'm not a gamer by any means. I played Cut the Rope and Angry Birds, but have beaten em both with perfect scores... so gaming graphics aren't really "my" niche. However, what would you like to see a phone capable of next?
I just remember when I had my G1 and the Android platform has advanced so quickly, that I am at a loss of what I would like to see next. The only thing I could say would be a game-changer, would be some type of "real-time" translator. How amazing would that be?
So, my contribution is a translator that could do so in real-time (or at least close). What's yours?
Another random idea....
My 97 year old grandfather was blown away that I could order a book on my phone (through Amazon) and have it arrive the next day. He started talking about how he would love many of the things I do on it, such as checking the weather and news.
While we're all somewhat "techy" on here... it'd be neat to see something idiot proof. That is, something that isn't for the tech savvy like himself, to be able to use it. Voice search has come a long way, but still takes a fair amount of skill.
The trouble with translation of human speech is the literally unlimited variables. Not only the hundreds of languages, but the dialects, the accents, the mis-pronounciations and the combinations of all the above.
The technology will get there, it's just nowhere near just yet. (IBM are flouting their latest super computer is as clever as a cat, but it has 147,000+ CPUs! Not to mention the fact my cat isn't a gleaming example of intelligence).
As for what to expect in handsets, quite frankly, battery tech needs a good boot up the backside into reality, plus the efficiency tech to match.
'toy tech'-wise, I'd like things like an accurate body monitor, that'd be ideal for handicapped or the elderly (or the fitness savvy for that matter) which could automatically alert in case of problems.
Otherwise, there isn't much I can think of that this thing doesn't do (other than make the obligatory cup of coffee). Tech is getting to a place where gadgets can seriously be considered as possible devices to advance the human race rather than just assist it's user.

Technically, our phones CAN make a cup of coffee now! Google arduino twitter coffee pot (or something similar). You can use twitter to send a command to a microcontroller that is hooked up to a coffee pot to make coffee when you tell it too from wherever you are.

I was always dying when I first played it. It gets easier the longer you play it, however, it was more fun when my character was still weak. Killing enemies with one hit made the game tiring to play.
it's been a long while since any decent game has come to market... say FallOut series was revived to now
BioWare is doing an awesome job at with Dragon Age series and Mass Effect
both of these tittles are a must have, it's like watching a movie, but you are the main character
the outcome of the movie will all depend on the choices you make during the course of the movie/game
it can also be open ended, like the old also excellent X series (X, X2, X3)
other than those 4 above mentioned games, there aren't many good games to look forward to
I do also follow the Blizzard games, but they take like 10 years in between releases, crazy wait time
from Blizzard i like the StarCraft and Diablo series, but those are more just for fun, than Immersion play like the BioWare games
a day goes by so quickly you don't even notice when you are zoomed into the worlds of Dragon Age / Mass Effect
I highly suggest playing those 2 with 3D glasses if you have an Nvidia or ATI 3D capable video card and 3D monitor to match

Its more about that on pc you need use keyboard and most to control character and for me its easier to use an controller like the Xbox360 has.
But an game like CoD uses much less buttons on the keyboard, with the W button I just walk and with A and D to left and right and S I won't use much.
And in multiplayer I use an cheat to help me locating the enemy ( Yes I know its not nice to cheat, but it makes the game more fun for me and it gets not detected. ) and that way I make more kills and win more games.

Great game if you enjoy Beth games.
You didn't give enough info, so yes... great game, get it.
If you don't want to risk the $ on a new rpg game from a company you haven't had any experience with, try hitting the bargin bin and pickup Oblivion (predecessor to Skyrim) or Fallout 3. That will let you know if you can handle the "engine" and type of bugs/issues you may encounter...
.02 enjoy.;
Skyrim is by far the best game Bethesda has created IMHO. The leveling system is excellent. Much more to do than in the other elder scrolls games. The game is excellent. I would get it if I were you.
This is something I've always wondered. In many movies and shows I've watched about USA, I've only seen semi-trucks and semi-trailers. Kenworth, Peterbilt etc.
Do you have anything similar to this scania truck?
That truck and trailer has a maximum weight of 60.000 kilos here in Sweden (and Finland), but possibly less world-wide.
We have some decent ones.

I have searched, a lot, over the years and I have only come across semi-truck. That kinda answers my question? Ah well. My second question is why.
Is it because of the weight limits? Narrower roads? I don't get it, because I'd like to think a truck+trailer could haul more load (volume) than a semi-trailer.
All of our roads here have weight limits, so that is probably a factor.

We have weight limits too, but a bit over 90 percent are 60 tonnes roads. But, my point is, a truck and trailer like we have don't just haul a lot of weight-goods. It can also load a lot of volume. More so than a semi-trailer.
Know what I'm saying?

I have searched, a lot, over the years and I have only come across semi-truck. That kinda answers my question? Ah well. My second question is why.
Is it because of the weight limits? Narrower roads? I don't get it, because I'd like to think a truck+trailer could haul more load (volume) than a semi-trailer.

They call them box trucks from the looks of things, although it seems Luton vans would be included in that name.
A separate tractor unit that can haul different trailers is more versatile.
Also remember that traditionally American engines have to be huge to produce the equivalent power/torque to an European one, hence the jutting out nose of many of them. If fuel is ridiculously cheap there is no push for maximum efficiency, which allows for huge gas guzzling vehicles, while over in Europe where fuel has always been more expensive our vehicles are smaller and more efficient. Even some lorries now tow curved roof trailers to reduce drag.
Another reason for this is engine access. In Europe with the engine under the cab you have to tilt the cab forward to work on the engine and several mechanics have died by not securing it.
What are the lengths of the 2 trailers in the op? Our semi's are typically 53 foot trailers. They will also double up on 2 28 foot trailers. It's also common place here to see the trailers loaded onto trains to carry them across the country.
We also do have semi trucks with a flat nose like that and aerodynamics added to the top of the truck and/or trailer. What I don't see is where one of the trailers is connected to the cab, and it tows another one. We do use straight wall trucks like that some, but mostly for local P&D (pickup and delivery) rather than carrying goods over a distance.
