Hi guys, I just bought an Incredible S online for $480. It was a pretty good deal. Anyway, I checked the specs and saw that the IS is equipped with a SLCD screen. I haven't been able to find out much about the comparison of a SLCD and a SCLCD. Does anyone have some info?
curious too. the nexus s is super clear lcd.

I think they are just the same thing. I believe SLCD is a product developed by Samsung and Sony, so I think maybe different names for the same product .

Super Lcd is much clearer than super clear Lcd. G2 I believe used the super clear Lcd and IS has a clearer and brighter display than the G2.

The Nexus S has a Super AmoLED screen in some geographies, complete with PenTile matrix.

G2 is just another super lcd phone.
Super clear lcd is pure samsung technology, and like the super amoled, it is only for samsung phones. Nexus s i9023 and samsung i9003 are the only higher end phones using one.
In short, sclcd is comparable to super amoled. Better color balance, great brightness on sunlight, but at the cost of weaker contrast(not as black as samoled)

Yeah I got pretty lucky. Some guy on ebay had it for sell for $480. He said he bought it brand new for $550; he only had it for a week. I messaged him and asked him if there was anything wrong with the phone. He said no, but he bought the phone thinking it would work with AT&T's 3G. He even specifically listed in his auction "DOES NOT WORK WITH USA 3G". Little did he know AWS is the T-mobile's 1700/2100 frequency band. So, his loss is my gain
Very curious of why HTC just slipped in the AWS band?? I'm sure they weren't targeting T-Mobile US customers. Maybe the AWS band was intended for Canadian services?

HTC new exactly what they were doing when they put the AWS band in the Incredible s. They're just getting the most for their product. They already new they had a version of the phone going to Verizon as an exclusive phone. They also have it going to Virgin and Bell in Canada which means those particular models will work on AT&T 3G/4G. So now you have Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile customers buying one phone. (AT&T and T-Mobile customers have to buy it unlocked at full price)

SLCD is more like AMOLED, both kinda smiler in quality
Super clear lcd n super lcd r different in many ways. Super clear lcd has this bluish colour to it when displaying whites while da slcd has whiter whites. Sclcd has very good viewing angles almost like super amoled. All in all its a modified n better slcd n is meant to be closer to super amoled in quality
its the same to me
It doesnt matter our ISs screens are pretty well

I rarely find accessories for my HD2 but this one I couldn't pass up for $50 in fact. It is a one of a kind battery pack which is similar to the Mophie for my iPhone that I have used before. Wow?
Anyone else seen this one particular "extended battery?"
Check this one with a landscape kickstand
HTC HD2 extended battery with Kickstand
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuWuyW1J4D4
http://pocketnow.com/hardware-1/video-htc-hd2-extended-battery-w-kickstand
isn't the phone heavy enough already? how much weight does that battery add? I like to carry the phone in my pocket all the time. Also I assume I can't use the standard case once this battery is installed.
Any idea what the battery capacity is?
How easy is it to install and remove?
Can you give us a SKU, part number, model number, or anything else to search with?
Thanks, and great find!
It's actually a case with a battery inside.

very quick and small review of the product somewhere in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723233
I actually have this product. It's not bad, but does add a large amount of "bulk" to the phone. It's not heavy at all. In my experience, it will give you about 60% of a charge when fully charged itself. Meaning if you turn it on when your battery is at around 10%, it'll jump to about 70%, and pretty quickly I might add. I wouldn't leave it in your pocket while it's running though as it does tend to heat up a bit.
Beware
I found them on ebay for $35 from a vendor in Hong Kong.Remember that if you have a dock it won't fit into it with the new battery cover, also I don't know of any phone cases for a phone with the larger battery door.Just an fyi. Also it is not T-Mobile branded.Do google search for htc hd2 battery and follow ebay result.(unable to post link)

This product you're talking about is not what this thread is about at all. We're talking about a case that carries a battery charge that can be switched on and off and leaves the phone it's original state. And it IS T-mobile branded.
yukks. my original extended battery looks more clean and handy , !!
The only difference to the standard one is three lights(?) http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=195058 (this is NOT limited to the UK because the link shows the UK, checked and at least they sell it in Sweden too, so they probably sell it anywhere)
Do you have a picture that actually shows how it looks? :S

Who cares? this thread is not a "look, my battery is better than yours and cleaner than your" kinda thread. the 500+ comments you have serve for nothing I guess.
im confused, the website states "Compatible with T-Mobile HTC HD2 (not compatible with International version HD2)." however in the picture there is a european hd2. Any ideas?
I never noticed that. It certainly doesn't have the colored send and end keys of the TmoUS HD2. Given that one is taller than the other, I doubt this could fit both versions. My guess is that the photos are of a prototype or preproduction TmoUS HD2.

Really, it should be compatible with all versions! There is only a 1.5mm height difference (TMOUS is taller) , and in a hard case like this, it's not really going to matter, is it?
HTC Protective Cover with Battery Boost
I got mine at a franchised T-Mobile store for 50% off. Approx. $25
No instructions. Has switch on back to actually recharge internal battery from external battery. Indicator lights tell you external battery is fully charged. USB connection is pass thru for charging only (no Data). According to amazon it will NOT work on UK HD2.
I also found it at Amazon: Serach
"OEM T-Mobile Protective Cover w/ Battery Boost for HTC HD2"
or Part No: "SUPA33967"
I'll be using it while in the hospital while recovering from knee surgery.
(Quad Tendon Tear) Ouch!!!
I'll use it to give myself data access for my iPad. And of course as a telephone.
To be honest, I think I'd rather get the extended battery & case from HTC website, at least you know what you're getting that way.

I just received one this afternoon...you're so right, my data is 57%.
But, it has a serious problem:
when you install it on HD2, then you can't sync the phone with PC!!!
I'm writing this so that you don't get SCAMed as I've already seen in several topics on the Accessories forum.
I know many of you would rather by OEM (myself included), yet many of you are paying full price for an imitation.
Now, there is nothing wrong with the imitation batteries on ebay, they work just as good as the real ones.
However It's just sad to see people paying like 50 times more for something that can be bought cheaply
there are honest ebay sellers that do tell you it is not the real battery, there are the type of sellers you should buy from.
not the ones adverting FAKE ones as "Real" ones.
Here they are side by side, can you tell the difference?

It should be rather clear, ironically the FAKE one has a better build than the OEM ones.
Now look again at the pictures advertised on ebay or whatever place you should happen to buy them at
They are all the same as the fake one.
pictures taken by SGS i9000m
The 1st on the first picture and the 2nd on the second picture are the original batteries
A bit redundant if you don't tell us which and what differences to look for.
is too early to tell, i'll let more people try on their own before giving out the answer, but there are plenty of hints already
My battery is original, and looks like neither of these, yet is G7. It doesn't have a QR code for starters, but that's maybe because its a EB575152VU.
Everyone is happy with imitation batteries.. Until they overheat, melt, or have other problems. So, you need to decide if you want to take the risk. If you buy off ebay, just go 3rd party. If you want originals, go to an authorised service center or dealer.
You also say ALL fakes on eBay are that specific fake one? How can you prove this? Having sold apple equipment in the past, we found there were many different looking kinds of fakes. Many generally were similar (and that might hold for now), but it generally isn't true long-term..
Just remember, if you buy a fake, the person who made them know you are a sucker (and they aren't interested in making you happy, only making money). This means they just need it to seem plausible enough to be real (they can ship it with 1400mah, and barely anyone would notice). It can use the dodgiest cells on the planet, and as long as they take a while to die, it's ok too.
Either buy genuine from a trusted dealer, or go third party. It isn't always easy to identify counterfeits.

No. Left battery looks most like mine does, applies to both pictures. Seems like that doesn't necessarily mean it's a real battery though.
At closer inspection, my battery says EB575152VU and not EB575152vu as the left battery does and mine is MADE IN CHINA / FINISHED IN KOREA, they are otherwise identical.
I'm assuming Samsung didn't supply me with a fake battery for my phone.

Yepp, you have a battery that looks exactly like mine does (barring the serial#/mfgdate obviously).
Assuming all batteries Samsung supplies with the phones are exactly the same, they're BOTH fake.
I would assume the difference on model# is because that particular battery is made and finished in China while our batteries are made in china and finished in Korea. There's really nothing that says the left one is fake.
@ OP. OK now I am really confused (not difficult) Are both the one in my pic and the one I bought from eBay fake? They look identical apart from that little bit of print above the "G7"
First picture, right battery says "made in japan/made in japon/made in corea" Something is fishy there. Besides, it doesn't look like mine does.
As for the second picture, the left battery looks pretty much identical to mine. I'm assuming the batteries are not swapped simply because of that.

A straight answer would be helpful please or I will assume your just flaming. The two you refer to seem to say both fake and real. So I respectfully ask again are both my and the eBay pictures of fake batteries?
The batteries supplied with your phone are real.
But, honestly, this discussion is a waste of time anyway, because fakes aren't always obvious.. The assumption that they always look the same is wrong
Title speaks for itself. Samsung needs to step it up as well as third party distributors.

Hi folks, this is my first post on this forum and I thought I’d share with you a recent misadventure of mine.
Since the Galaxy Note 4 is currently not being sold without a contract in my area, it created some kind of a parallel market for people getting the device by using their actual contract and then reselling it on classifieds websites like craigslist or kijiji.
Being the impulsive buyer that I am, I took the chance of buying one from one of those people. I met the guy in a parking lot, inspected the device quickly but still took the time to google the model number that was showed in the About Phone screen which checked out ok. It turns out I should have paid attention to more than the model number… As it turns out, I bought a fake Galaxy Note 4 for the full price of a genuine one.
What first tipped me off was when I got home I opened the box and saw that the phone apparently turned itself back on during transport and was displaying this screen:
{

I thought to myself “Uh oh… this is not good”. A hard reboot made it disappear but after investigating, i realized that what I had in my hand was a very good knock off of Samsung’s famous Galaxy Note 4.
Needless to say, the seller was not reachable anymore….So to make a long story short, I ended up going to the store and bought a brand new (genuine) one that I had to put on a contract.
So now that I have the two devices in my hands, I thought of making a list of differences and post them here. It is to be noted that the real one that I bought is the SM-N910W8 which is the canadian version, while the fake one is labeled as the SM-N910F which I believe would refer to the US version. So keep in mind that some of these differences might be due to the different geographical versions that I have….but I doubt it. Feel free to correct me.
So here it is:
The Box: the main difference that I noticed was that the real one had a mention that it was printed in Vietnam. The fake one didn’t mention any printed location. The box’s color is closer to beige than white on the fake one.
On the first look: they appear to be carbon copies, although the fake one seems to be of a less bring white than the real one. But you would need to have the two sitting next to each other to notice this.
The battery: Other than text layout, the differences are that the real one states that it’s made in korea but assembled in Vietnam while the fake one is made in Japan. The voltage too is slightly different, 3.85v for the real one, 3.7 for the fake.
Behind the cover: there are a few noticeable differences here, first the real one has some kind of a small white square insert behind the battery while the fake doesn’t. Also there is some greenish color on the SIM and SDCARD bezels on the fake one while the real one’s are silver. But the dead giveaway here is that on the fake one, the IMEI number printed on the back sticker did not even match the one in the About Phone screen in settings.
The Cover: the inside of the cover’s colours don’t quite match as you can see here
Apps & OS: This is where the differences become more obvious. First of all the fake one doesn’t have KNOX and all the samsung bloatware. Also, some stupid misspellings are visible here and there, like for instance instead of Messages it says Messagin. Also, instead of Internet it says Browser.
The About Phone/Device screen in settings: Again, the differences here are obvious. First of all the real one has a white and blue theme and is labeled About Device while the fake one as an older black and white theme and is labeled About Phone. Then that’s where you can clearly see that the Baseband version is not an original Samsung one. Same thing for the Kernel.
Other than that, I noticed that the two capacitive buttons on each side of the home button don’t seem to light up on the fake one. And generally speaking, the fake one is slower than the real one. I didn’t go as far as running some benchmark apps on it but I am sure it would not score anywhere near the real Samsung Note 4.
Sorry man that really sucks. Good for posting the info and glad you have a real phone. Lessons learned, maybe the hard way but no one got hurt....unless you run into that guy again :/

What a sad sad day
Bummer for you, but no news to me to be honest, every popular model have Chinese fakes within weeks after release. Same with Iphone, Galaxy S5 etc etc. Lots of them on ebay and other online markets. And yes they are very easy to identify when you turn them on. If you buy one on a parking lot and don't switch it on and test it with a SIM, before handing money you ask for being ripped off. When ordering online and you are not able to test make sure you use a credit card so you some form of insurance. Kind of confused people still fall for these clones. It's common knowledge.

When the Galaxy S3 was released, the market everywhere in the world was flooded with fake devices very quickly. I created an app that was able to identify fake S3 and report it to the user. It became quite popular on Play Store with 50k+ downloads.
I think it is about time I create something similar for the Note 4. It may not be much, but it will help users like you instantly identity fake devices regardless of what they look like on the outside.

That would be a wonderful idea!
Best method to know original is to go to download mode volume down + home key + power button & check the knox status

Oh man.... That's suck... You should have bought on Amazon, which is protected by A to Z policy...
I can't even imagine your frustration... Is there any possible way you can contact the seller?
Either way, great post to let everyone to know about the fake note 4...

Most them fakes don't even have a proper download mode. My sister got scammed with a fake s4 and the download combination drops it into recovery which, apart from the crappy screen, were dead giveaways for me.
Yup that's the exact way to differentiate.Sad op was unaware & suffered the loss

This reminds us. If the deal is just too good to be true, it's too good to be true.

I am selling my Note4 BNIB & I am selling it from my home address with proof of purchase & also proof of identity.
In the UK lots of people are getting caught by people that later report it stolen to collect the insurance, sometimes months later your handset gets blocked.
They always want to meet up in parking lots ETC
It's good advice to never buy a phone somewhere like that.
Sorry to hear you learned the hard way.
Out of curiosity, did you buy this from Toronto/Mississauga? There was an ad on Kijiji that was selling SM-N910F and I offered him $650. He didn't even hostage to take it. He had asked me to meet him at a parking lot as well.
So I bought a Droid Turbo 64GB Ballistic Nylon in Black today (5/23/15) from a corporate Verizon. I wanted to get the Ballistic Nylon purposefully since it does not have branding. So after it was all set up, I turn the phone around and see that is was branded! I asked the manager if he knew anything regarding VZW branding newer made Turbos. Perhaps since the blue nylon one has branding (at least the one at the store did, i have read online people saying their blue model didnt), the newer made Black ones have branding. Does anyone have any concrete information? I have two pictures below. It is cut off but the manufacturer date is 2015-01-17. Was there a refresh for the phone at some point?

The branding looks exactly like my employees edition. But the employees edition has red trim around the phone and around the camera. My employee edition is also 64 gigabyte
@thegendler My original 32GB black BN Turbo manufactured in Nov 2014 didn't have Verizon branding, but my replacement phone with manufacture date 12/25/14 does have it.
I just got mine last week and can confirm it also has branding. My unit was assembled on 1/16/2015. Perhaps after 2015 was when they started branding them?
Though, have no fear! I realize that it was not anything permanent and was able to get rid of the tramp stamp via rubbing alcohol and some patience (1.5 hour?) of picking at it with my nails.
thats so easy to take off man... use qtips and alcohol.. peel with fingernails. took it off in like 10 minutes.
you can also buy a replacement back cover in eBay for like 25 bucks and do it yourself. Painless process and youtube guide ready. I bought a blue one and my phone shine . My original one didn't have the brand on it and I bought around early Feb
Plenty of ballistic nylon + kevlar backs available without branding -- at least the black.

They ballistic nylon covers are actually kevlar underneath + ballistic nylon on top.
You can also search for ballistic backs for the XT1225 and XT1250. They are all Quark phones, like the XT1254, and will fit and they are unbranded.

This little tidbit was added after the initial release. Mine does not have it but latter releases do.
Painless process and youtube guide ready.
I just got a brand new black 64 GB ballistic nylon turbo. No branding. Also, my manufacture date is January 9th of this year. Maybe they took it back off again?
What am I missing? What's the big deal about the branding?

I'd liken it to someone asking what the big deal is with your wife having a tramp stamp.

Thanks but my wife and I both have many tattoos and we don't regret them. Most of the time when someone regrets a tattoo its because they didn't get it for "Them". They got it for the world "as in to look cool or sexy" We both get our tattoos for ourselves because they make us happy. Matter o fact we both work professional jobs "I wear a suit and tie every day" Most people don't even know I have them. It has came up in conversation a few times and a couple of my colleagues didn't even believe me when I told them I had them LOL But in all seriousness I did take the one off of my phone.

Seeing your location, is your city Danville, Virginia? If so, I graduated from Averett University there, back in the mid 90s.
